In this crazy rainy weather, we wanted something warm and hearty. We got here at 5 pm on a Thursday and got a table. We ordered rare beef pho, chicken pho, and their crispy noodle dish with chicken. My beef pho had a nice strong spice taste. I added hoisin and sriracha to my broth for a nice addition. The crispy noodle dish reminded me of cake noodles the way the chicken and vegetables were in a thick gravy. Service was easy and quick. They got our orders in quickly, brought the food out quickly, and got us on our way without being overly pushy. Parking is easy, plentiful, and convenient in Manoa Marketplace. Pho viet is located on the second floor and there are stairs as well as an elevator to get up. I like eating here when I don't want to go downtown and deal with lots of people. Wife wanted to eat a bahm mi sandwich for lunch. She went through a number of Yelp reviews and pick Pho Viet. The restaurant is located in the Manoa Market Place shopping center on the second floor. Upon entering you see Hawaii inspired muraled walls. A large bar and some television monitors. Spacious table and booth seating. Greeted and seated Menus and water soon followed. We shared the Chicken banh mi and spring rolls. The bahn mi sandwich had thick slices of cucumber and bell peppers . My wife said her half had carrots. I looked again to see if I had any. I'm really a Chinatown princess. So when I found this hidden gem in Manoa, I had to rave about it on Yelp. No gatekeepers around here. Stopped here on a whim and was immediately greeted by staff. It's giving sports bar restaurant vibes. Might come here next time to watch some games. I was sat at a clean table and ordered a peach green tea, brisket pho, special combo banh mi, and spring rolls. (Insert 'White Chicks' quote: And for the lady? Perhaps a salad? Perhaps not.) IFYKYK The pho here is MAYJAH! Broth was sweet and umami. Noodles were perfectly chewy and bouncy. But the meat. We surprised by how big the space is. There is a homey feeling to the space which lends itself to a casual vibe. Food and service were both great! We shared a Shrimp Salad to start. A large portion with a generous amount of shrimp and a nice kick of chiles. I had the Chicken lettuce wraps and my dining partner in crime enjoyed the Tofu and Veggie Pho. Both were fantastic. If I had one small criticism would be that the food was a little too sweet. Nothing that would stop us from returning, though. Fast and tasty... making this a great option. read more

I've had over 5 million phos in my life and never had peanut in pho. I understand that mistakes can happen but after confirming that it was peanut. Wanted to eat bahn mi sandwich for lunch so I was on yelp looking for a place to go well there is alot in our area chinatown but no parking and need to walk maybe couple of blocks. So I came across this one located at the manoa market place. Being its Sunday parking was crowded because of the small open market they have. Located upstairs 2nd floor i said to my husband oh my got to climb the stairs. But we didn't have too there's a elevator to the 2nd floor. Yay. Caught it and there it was the restaurant. We had spent the entire week trying to find a Vietnamese gem of a restaurant and it finally happened. We saw that they had boba on their menu and we were scratching our heads because ain't no way having so many items on their menu would equate to a good meal. My mom and I as craving something different for dinner and she mentioned how she liked the chicken porridge we ordered from UberEats like a year or so ago. So I researched my previous orders and found out if was from Pho Viet so we headed to the Manoa Marketplace location. Pho Viet is located on the second floor of the shopping center and there are both elevators and stairs to get up there. Walking in wasn't really inviting. It is a karaoke bar as well so you clearly see the bar when walking in. There is no hostess booth but we were met at the door by one of the workers who sat us. There were a few patrons already seated. Now on to the main show which is the food. My mom ordered the chicken porridge and I ordered the spring roll and bbq pork cold vermicelli bowl and a side order of their spring rolls. First off the serving size was huge. Crispy spring rolls were on point. Nice, hot and crispy. Paired well with their dipping sauce as well as the pickled veggies. My mom loved her chicken porridge and had enough for two more servings. My vermicelli bowl was awesome. Bowl was filled with vermicelli noodles, picked daikon and carrots, sliced cucumbers, bean sprouts and peanuts. Topped with one crispy spring roll and the bbq pork. The pork was marinated well me very soft. There was a dressing which was the same as the dipping sauce for the spring rolls. Poured some of that over and mixed everything. Oh so good! There was so much I had enough for another meal. Overall I really enjoyed the food and service. Positives: free parking in Manoa Marketplace. Clean bathroom. Elevator to 2nd floor=accessible. Chantilly cake was very good: nice and moist and dense and flavor was on point. Now let me start with the cons: bathroom you need to walk around the corner and down the hall (not close). Shrimp pho was just ok: flavor was average, portion was a bit small (lots of soup with not too many noodles). The worst part of this whole experience were the other 2 desserts I got to go for my husband. I am not exaggerating when I say the flan is like something in a doll cafe. I couldn't believe they would dare to charge $5.95 for a flan that was barely 2 bites. It was not even that good; pretty bland and watery. But then I ordered the banana tapioca and it was absolutely horrible. The texture was like it was previously frozen. It was gritty and not creamy at all. It was crumbly. That is not how any tapioca should be. What a waste of $12 plus tax (they also charge a 3% fee for card so bring cash). They also have karaoke but it's pretty expensive. There is a selection of rice, noodle, and other dishes. I usually get the house special fried rice. It is one of my favorites -- super flavorful and a good portion. However, the last time we were there, it took longer than we were told to get our food. We ended up waiting quite a bit. We specifically asked to take off certain ingredients for an allergy and mentioned it several times as we placed our order. The server confirmed this request for all foods. However, as we were eating, we found a large amount of the allergen ingredient in one of our dishes, which absolutely should not have been in it. We immediately called the server over and showed it to her. Her only response was, "Oh, I did let my chef know..." We started to see allergic reactions, so we paid and left the restaurant as quickly as possible. Despite the obvious medical emergency caused by the kitchen's error, we didn't receive an apology until we were leaving the restaurant. Thank goodness it wasn't a severe reaction, but this experience shows a profound and dangerous lack of care for customer safety. We came as a party of 6 and had one person allergic to peanuts and eggs. Upon placing our order, we told the waitress that to make sure none of these dishes have peanuts and eggs in them and she understood. Then we got our food and started eating. We find that the oxtail had boiled peanuts in them. Not only did she not tell us in advance, when we told her, she just said oh no. I put in no peanut no eggs. The food is consistent-and portions are generous. what is pictured on the menu is not always what it looks like when it comes out, but we have never left hungry. There is a very peaceful music playing for a calm atmosphere. There are TVs showing various channels and a full bar, so I imagine it can get very fun up in this place. But I have rarely been here when there's a crowd...it's a little unfortunate for a small business with such kind people. They have updated their menu and prices have gone up. There's a ton of menu options. I was surprised to see the price of the combination pho. It was around $19.50 (only one size option). I think the amount provided was more of a $15 bowl of pho because the size was more like a medium pho. But I'm glad it was good and hit the spot. There's also bubble tea options. They have teapresso options. Place was clean and there was no wait on a Monday night. Parking available at the shopping center, so it's convenient. I have a hatred for green onions that is amplified by the fact that for some reason, it's in everything. I decided to order a stir fried udon with pork for take out. Called in the order, with no onions, and no green onions. They repeated "stir fried udon with pork". I wasn't sure if they got my modification, so I said, "with no onions and no green onion, right?". And they said yes!!!!!!!! So imagine my surprise when I get home, starving, to see my food not only has green onions, but is absolutely smothered in them + cilantro. I also do not like cilantro, but it wasn't in the description so I didn't know to ask for without. I spent 15!!! minutes!! Picking out green onions, chunks of regular onion, and cilantro. Because not only did they top off the dish with green onions and cilantro, they also mixed it into the dish itself! So every time I thought I got most of the green onions and cilantro, I'd move some noodles around and there would be so much more! The taste of the udon itself was ok. Not bad but not good by any means. Pork was chewy. And covered in green onions and cilantro! I included the images of when I opened the takeout container and off after I picked out the majority of the ingredients I asked to be taken out!!! Not too sure why they would even put that much in the dish to begin with, it's truly an absurd amount. I look at the ticket attached to the bag, and shocker! The lady didn't even write or take note of the exclusions I asked for. Terrible service. Sub par food. If I was allergic, what then? I'd just waste money since I got it take out and wouldn't want to drive all the way back? Starve? Spend more time, money, and energy to get something I asked for? Didn't eat here so I can't score on the food. Place is big and clean. This rating is only for the bobo milk teas I ordered. Usually I can trust a Vietnamese or Taiwanese place making good boba milk teas. This place was an exception. The milk teas are TERRIBLE and way overpriced. Even though they're a pho restaurant I've actually never tried the pho. What I can tell you, though, is that everything else on their menu is AMAZING. Their stir-fried udon w/ shrimp is so flavorful that I can't stop thinking about it months later. I hate dining alone, but that stir-fry udon tempts me greatly into making the solo trip to Manoa. Other good dishes worth mentioning is the lemongrass chicken banh mi, which my sister says is the best banh mi she's had so far. Also my dad, who can be pretty critical of restaurants, loved the oxtail soup. Their Vietnamese curry is pretty good, if not a little spicy, but the portion of chicken is smaller than I expected. And for some reason, they have a really wide selection of milk teas/smoothies that are surprisingly good. I'd recommend the pina colada smoothie if you like that sort of thing :) read more

Friendly and attentive service, loved the ambiance--large open restaurant, and they spaced us out so we weren't all crowded together with the other customers. Updated Review!!! It's been over a year since my last review but my 5-star rating remains unfazed. This is my favorite pho shop in all of the island. Mostly because of the two people who run the place. [Ambiance] Manoa renovated since my last visit. The parking lot is smaller because of it, but I was able to find a spot no problem. The restaurant hasn't changed too much though I think they repainted the interior a cute Barbie-approved pink. It's crazy how big the space is and yet immaculately clean. I don't know who takes care of the place but there's not a speck of dirt or dust in sight. Impressive is understating how I feel about the place. I love how inviting and unique the interior is. It feels authentic and true, much like the food it houses. I especially enjoy the year-round Christmas lights. Bathrooms are also very clean and available to paying customers. Manoa offers a communal public restroom but having one in the restaurant is such a convenience. Tons of seating. The restaurant can host a big group or a small outing. I believe they have karaoke on the second floor. That's right! Two floors! [Service] Best service on the island. The sibling duo are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Both upbeat, cheery, bubbly and oh-so-endearing. You'll fall for their charm and fall in deeper love with the food. Last night I went to Pho Viet and ordered the Oxtail Pho. It was probably the best Oktail that I ever had, huge chunks of fatty,melt off the bone oxtail in a rich,savory broth. With shiitake mushroom,sliced white onions daikon and peanuts. Also bean sprouts,basil and green peppers as a side topping. They also had a vinegary,sweet sauce to dip the oxtails in.Correct temperature, served scalding hot just the way soups should be. Perfect dish for a cold rainy Manoa night. You can order the Pho with either noodles or rice. Will definitely be back today for more.Ill next time I'll leave out the noodles and just have the soup. Went today for brown sugar milk bobba. I ordered two and received them with barely any brown sugar and NO BOBBA! Was charged full price and when I asked where the bobba was, he said he didnt have any AFTER I PAID FOR THEM. I didnt have time to argue for a refund so took them both and left.
