We just came back here after a few years and were sorely disappointed. First of all, the restaurant felt dirty - there was food on the floor that was not swept up even though it wasn't that busy. There were a few flies inside the restaurant and one of the waiters tried to kill them by swatting a towel but did not clean up the one or two flies he got. We ordered pho and pork chop with rice. The pho was ok but the rice was disastrously mushy and the pork chop tough and chewy. We will not be returning to this restaurant again. read more

Sincerely, I'm easy to please and typically give the benefit of the doubt. I have to say, this place ruined my Friday night. I got a to go order of crab cheese wontons and a rare steak and brisket pho along with hubby's pho order of fried tofu. I don't know how everything came out grey and green, eww! I think my crab cheese wontons were left overs from yesterday and obtained meat from a week or so ago. I thought this place was the sister company of the best pho spot off federal, but I guess not. Moving to Colorado from Los Angeles, I've been pretty disappointed by some of the things that pass as pho around Denver. That is, until I came to Pho 95! This place is as good as any LA or NYC-based pho place I've visited. And the most surprising part is their consistency. I've been here around twice a month for a year now and they never have an off day. Amazing pho very single time. And that's not the only thing on the menu either. I've also had amazing Banh Mi sandwiches and noodle bowls as well. Don't be discouraged by this place being in a suburban outdoor mall. It's a diamond in the rough well worth leaving the city for. I'm spoiled for Vietnamese because I live so close to Pho 95. It's consistently delicious. Service can be hit or miss but we usually order to go anyway. I get #8 Pho: rare steak and tendon. Yuuuum. Walking in it's like any other pho place. First issue is drinks. We got our beer and Thai tea when our entrees came out after the appetizer. Service was slow. My boyfriend ordered chicken and I ordered beef. We both received beef. His soup was boiling hot and mine was luke warm so the beef didn't cook at all even though it was a poor quality. The only thing saving this place 1 star was the taste of the beer and the taste of the broth. I'm very impressed with the pho taste. Very delicious. The rest of the service was also in poor quality. Excellent mistake, lol. We actually intended to go to the other Pho 95 with lots of reviews but are not disappointed at all that we came here. The service was excellent; different waiters made sure to check up on us and ask if we needed anything when they passed by. The main waiter (I forget his name but he had a man bun in case his boss is reading this and he can get credit) was very knowledgeable of their menu and enthusiastic about their food; he definitely sold us on various dishes. In addition, we were happy to take advantage of their Wine Wednesdays where they sell at least 6 types of wine for $4 a glass. The food was also great: -beef spring rolls (aka summer rolls, rice paper rolls): First time seeing seeing beef as an option (it's usually pork, which I don't really do or shrimp which I get). Light and delicious. -fried chicken wings: came out very nice and crispy. The dry rub (a la manager style as per our waiter) was very good. -H bo kho (beef stew): excellent. Flavor was on point. -Do bien (seafood pho): first time having seafood pho (usually do traditional beef). I chose the vegetable broth on the suggestion of our waiter; flavor was excellent and had a wonderful kick. I loved that they served tons of side herbs/vegs which, to me, really completes the dish and provides such a freshness (many places give measly portions and then like to charge if you ask for more herbs). The seafood was good and I appreciated not having to pick out fatty pieces like I have had to do with various beef pho's. Of note, the "crab" in the pho is artificial (ie, pollock based like that in California sushi rolls). I highly dislike artificial crab and wish this had been clearly stated, but the overall flavors and service was so good that it outweighs this oversight. I recall driving with my friend around this neighbourhood. She was telling me that condos were being build to create urban neighbourhoods, with eateries and entertainment within walking distance. We were both hungry. I simply drove and noticed a bunch of businesses. How about pho? We love Vietnamese food. So, I parked and we walked in. This restaurant is cheerful. We immediately were seated and looked at the menu. Everything looked so yummy! I got the combination bowl, which consists of grilled beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and an egg roll all on vermicelli. Naturally, you also get some yummy vinegar goodness to pour over everything. I forgot about how portion sizes are in the States. I got a ton of food. Luckily, I was hungry. The grilled protein was delicious and filling. I loved my meal. It tasted authentic and what you got was plentiful. I am glad that we stumbled across this eatery. I am nostalgic of my trip to Denver. The environment in Pho 95 is a mixed bag that reflects that it is in a shopping center. It feels partially like a Vietnamese restaurant but partially like a sports bar as well. So, kind of the weird feeling of we serve pho here but also will have devoted space on our walls for the Denver Broncos. As a vegetarian, my options existed but were limited. What irritated me the most was that my dish, Mellowing with Tofu, is listed under the vegetarian but contains spicy shrimp paste. I have a shellfish allergy. Had one of my friends not pointed out to me that there was spicy shrimp paste in this vegetarian dish, I would have had a major problem. I don't understand why they would list this under the vegetarian section if there is any components of meat in it. The Mellowing with Tofu was fine. I didn't find it to be a unique meal in any way and its presentation was a bit odd. Unnecessary lettuce underneath the food along with a tomato. When it comes down to it, this area is populated highly with American, Mexican, and Italian options. There is little in the realm of something like Pho 95 so if you are in the mood for something that are not these options Pho 95 is there and is fine enough. I'd say my experience with the environment, food, and service is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. I swayed it to 3 because our server was a good enough guy. But the service there seems far more bar-esque than restaurant-esque. Just a little too laid back if this place is trying to establish itself as a higher quality restaurant. Ordered take out from here the other night and I was surprised at their menu choices! Not your typical Pho place! They had everything from kobe sliders to short ribs, I even saw Escargot. I got the short ribs thinking it would be similar to Korean Galbi, it was better! I can't exactly say what was in the sauce but it definitely had the typical Vietnamese flavors. Their fried egg rolls were the best I've had anywhere! I'd like to point out the staff was so nice and pleasant! They're offering curbside right now as well. The restaurant looks nice too (from what I can see on the outside) I would love to dine in when its allowed again. I ordered form here, honestly only because it was the only place open past 9. The food was terrible. The crab cheese wontons tasted like rancid oil. The spring rolls were basically wilted Taco Bell lettuce with one piece of shrimp and the steak for the pho was questionable. The food was over priced and I didn't even get to eat it because it tasted awful. There are so many better pho places in Denver. Skip this one. read more

At the end of the meal a waiter came by and I just gave him a heads up that there was a fly but that it wasn't a big deal. He immediately started giving off attitude and was rude. Great local pho spot. We came in last night when it was under ten degrees and this was the perfect spot to warm up. They have a happy hour on weekdays from 3 to 6 where some of the apps are at a discount. You have to try the spring rolls - some of the best I've had. I got a small of the meatball pho and loved it. A culinary surprise for a city dweller in the suburbs. This is the best pho in South Denver. We were at Southglenn intending to eat at another restaurant and instead went here on a whim. Such a delight. Food: delicious. The broth is light and perfect. The meat is amazing. The egg rolls were the best egg rolls I've ever eaten in my life -- $8.00 and incredible. The portions are outrageous -- I bought a large pho for $9.95 and it has fed me two meals and there's still more... Service: what fabulous servers in this restaurant.
