It's been soup weather and I was craving some pho. Ordered via phone and my order was ready about 10 minutes. The serving size of my pho #4 was perfect and the flavor was just right. Broth was not oily and the meats were good portion. I don't receive the chili sauce to make my pho spicy, but not the biggest complaint. It's close by and I will be coming back next time there is a chill in the air. read more

This is our go-to pho spot, and we never feel the need to switch it up. The quality is always consistent, and it keeps us coming back whenever we're craving a pho fix. The restaurant is always well kept with plenty of seating, which makes dining in super comfortable. Their portions are generous, the egg rolls are perfectly crunchy, the spring rolls are fresh, and the drink options--like Thai tea and lemon iced tea--pair so well with the meal. The service is quick, friendly, and always accommodating. We feel right at home every time we eat here and see the familiar friendly faces of the staff. We visited for the first time this past week as pho sounded great on a cold night. It's a family-owned business and service was swift and friendly. The place was clean, spacious, but the ambiance was a little sterile. We ordered spring rolls and two bowls of pho noodles. The spring roll was amazingly fresh, crispy, and tasty. Definitely some of the best we've had. The pho bowls were decent. We would have preferred if the broth had more flavor, and more portion of meat. We added quite a bit of hoisin sauce and siracha to spice the broth up. A little nitpicky but the noodles were clumped together still. The price is reasonable I think I would have preferred a dollar or two more to have more meat. The typical side of lemon, basil, jalapenos, and sprouts were adequate. Ultimately it was a decent bowl of pho as you can add additional flavor via sauce and sides. read more

The Pho Snob reporting... Ive been keeping this place close to the vest. Because this is my spot near me... But this place and the owners are too good to keep things to myself. Pho 99 has been an awesome spot to have clean Pho. By clean I mean the broth isnt oily and is very flavorful. They add very little msg on their food items. I can tell because I dont leave the resturant feeling thristy. Their Grill Pork Spring Rolls are one of the best in the area. Their combonation fried rice and a side of Pho soup is amazing. This place is college kid approved! Not only is the prices very reasonable but the pho is delicious. Favorite pho spot in riverside. DELICIOUS food, HUGE portions, and OUTSTANDING customer service. Good prices too, especially during all of this inflation and price increases elsewhere! This is a family owned business and they are all so kind! The mother is the most caring woman, always going out of her way to greet us and make sure our food is perfect. I found a new favorite spot! I had been craving pho since I moved in the area and stopped by. Just wanted some hot soup to go and wasn't disappointed. I was met with a friendly smile and advised that the menus were at the front counter. Seems the people who were eating were totally enjoying their food and the atmosphere was great! But the treat was when I made it home and opened my meal and found it individually presented! The stock was wonderfully seasoned, the vegetables were fresh, the noodles ready to be added! Finally got to come in store to dine there this past Sunday. We came in about an hour before their closing time and we were met with great service and food. So take it from me who has ordered through door dash and has come in to dine, it is a win win situation either method. Peanut sauce is nice and thick. They put [finely chopped] mint in their spring rolls, which makes me happy. A lot of places only use lettuce as the greens which is a bummer. The iceberg lettuce in these rolls was shredded and just OK. I don't think iceberg lettuce does any favors for spring rolls. Better off using something with a more flavor, not just water content and crunch. Husband got a vermicelli bowl with pork and shrimp. The pork flavor was typical and the shrimp was rather bland, so probably previously frozen. Daughter got the soup with egg noodles, liver, quail eggs, shrimp, etc etc (a #33?) and was hesitant because she'd never had liver before. She really liked the dish, especially with egg noodles, but the liver was removed from the bowl after she tried it. That's just personal preference--she said it tasted "farmy" lol. The rest of the dish was great. The restaurant has a lot of tables, is clean, quiet, and the service was very fast and very friendly. I would like to return to try the Jackfruit smoothie. Also, in the same shopping plaza is an Asian market with a Filipino restaurant inside that you should try. read more

They were a bit stingy on the lemon wedges and veggies. There were three of us and we ordered three bowls of Pho. We got one small plate of veggies and two lemon wedges. When we asked for more lemons, waiter looked over at our table to make sure we actually needed more lemons. When we asked for a sauce plate/cup, he looked bothered. Well next time just put little sauce plates on the table and we wouldn't have to ask you to get it. Like how do they not know people like to dip their meats in Siracha and Hoison sauce. Not everyone just pours it into the bowl. When we ordered our Pho, we also ordered a Banh Mi sandwich as a to go order. At the end of our meal, my wife went to pay and the check included the price with the sandwhich. She paid and asked how long the sandwich would take, they said, "what sandwich!" Uh, the one we just paid for. Cashier looked confused and asked to see the receipt. Then he went to the back and asked about the sandwich. We could hear someone in the back saying they didn't make a sandwich. Cashier apologized and we waited another 12 minutes for the sandwich. Pho was actually good but a bit on the pricey side. $20 for the Dac Biet. Next time we'll just go to Pho Ha down the street for better noodles at a cheaper price and they won't charge you for a sandwich that doesn't exist.

The sliced beef meatballs and the fried tofu again didn't really evoke the taste and texture of meat in a banh mi, and the protein was basically just a few thin non-overlapping slices per section of the sandwich. The worst offender-- the sandwich was dry. Vegan should mean vegan mayo, not no mayo at all. It was sooooo dry. I had to take it home and add my own mayo. I don't hate this restaurant, and I really appreciate the willingness to incorporate a vegan friendly menu. However, the pho and banh mi missed the mark for me. After I paid and didn't leave a tip, she said something in vietnamese about either giving me a smaller portion because I didn't leave a tip or just complaining about not receiving a tip. It was flavorful but noodles were kind of dry. The spring rolls came in 2. They add avocado, tofu, and jicima in addition to other ingredients. This isn't your traditional spring roll. I can also confirm that dipping sauce is straight peanut butter with not even enough water mixed in to make the texture smooth. Its like getting a cup of peanut butter that is watery on the top and dry and chunky from the middle down. A sauce like this will not be acceptable in the vietnamese community down in Bolsa. Haha! The coffee was also only okay, didn't finish it. I dont think I would drive out of my way to eat here.
