4 stars for price and 3 stars for food. I really do want to support this place since it is truly a mom/pop place in a strip mall area run by a couple who you can tell works hard. I commend them for reasonable prices (a small bowl of pho is around $11.50, large $14.50) which is a huge bonus. We tried a pho and a hu tieu (I wish they had bun bo hue which is usually my go to at Vietnamese restaurants). The bowls were packed with. noodles so we were very full by the end, but the flavors of both of the soups did not wow me unfortunately; the hu tieu almost seemed like a chicken based broth and lacked the seafood flavor that usually accompanies it. While this place has very reasonable prices and is a good lunch, I think I may try other places in the area but would still support this place. read more

I've ordered from here multiple times and consistently have the same issue, which is why this was especially frustrating. Yesterday I called in an order for two large pho to go and specifically asked the woman taking my order to please include enough jalapeños and bean sprouts for two bowls, since in the past they usually only include enough for one. She assured me she would. When we got home and started assembling the pho, there was barely enough toppings for even one bowl. On top of that, the meat portions were extremely small compared to other pho restaurants, yet their prices are a few dollars higher. It's disappointing when you clearly explain an issue you've experienced before, get reassurance it will be fixed, and then it still isn't. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. read more

Look, I love to support a family owned business, but the food has to be at least half decent for me to say something good about it. Honestly the service was fine, I didn't have issue with my order or saw anything out of the norm. So no drama with the service from my one time experience. The ambiance of the place was what you'd expect from a small pho restaurant. Nothing too fancy, but let's talk about the pho. The pho here must be a hit or miss because when I came here to try their pho for the very first time the other day, I was pretty disappointed with the broth. It was the oiliest pho broth I've ever seen. I love a little fat in the broth, but that was too much. Flavor of the broth was a bit off to me too. Like it didn't have this hardy savory flavor that you would expect. It lacked something that would give it a certain boldness to it. So I ordered a large Pho Tai Bo Vien and if you didn't know already, that's pho with slices of eye-round steak and beef meat balls. The portions for the rice noodles was pretty generous, but they were stuck to the bottom and needed to be loosened a bit in the broth. This is pretty normal-ish for the most part, but man, I never had to loosen them so hard before in my life. The meat portion seemed fairly little for a large size order. Pretty disappointed with that. Also the slices of meat was a bit raw still. Normally you'd want the broth to cook the meat and that's fine, but I expected the broth to have hit all parts of the meat to have cooked it to the point of being medium rare at least. After stirring the meat a bit, it did cook the raw areas lightly, but I'm not about doing more work to make my food edible. Later that evening, the pho definitely had me take a few trips to the bathroom. Felt like I was releasing some toxic gas out of my body. Even the morning after, it had feeling the same way also. If you enjoy this place, good for you, but I honestly don't think I can come back here for pho. Maybe some of the other items are decent, but I'd be a bit afraid to try them after having their pho. read more

Their broth is so rich and flavorful, not oily, and is the perfect savory pick-me-up when I'm sick. They always go above and beyond for their doordash orders. My person and I went to the Mall because we had a mission to embark upon within the hallowed halls of Alderweird. Since it was 10:30, and the mall opened at 11, we decided to get some food. Pho Alderwood has been my place for un-pho-gettable soup for a long time. They used to have a wonton Pho that was TDF (to die for), but that is no longer on the menu. C'est la vie, because after the food I had as a replacement, I hardly missed it. What delicious platter of deliciousness would make me repeat the word delicious 3 times? Well, buckle your seatbelts, because we're going for a ride on the flavor train! I ordered the House Special, and Boy Howdy, I'm sure happy I did. It was made with pork that was so tender, it literally melted in my mouth. It also featured prawns that were nice, tender, and sweet. All this atop of vermicelli noodles with a side of veggies, which provided some awesome texture. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the egg rolls, which were morsels of goodness! I chased all this down with some amazing Vietnamese iced coffee. It was the perfect meal, so much that I didn't even miss the wontons. This place does a good job at keeping guests distanced. The utensils and condiments are available at each table, but I can't say for sure that they're being sanitized after every guest. Despite each available table having guests (4 out of 8 tables), the restaurant was SO QUIET that it was almost unbearable when you notice how quiet it is. It would be nice if there was some kind of soft music or something to help provide some kind of sound so guests aren't all just silently hearing others' eating noises. I saw this place because it's right next to total wine in lynwood. never disappoints, every time. The noodles are perfect, I don't normally love Thai food because too me its a bit on the sweet side because (I think they use the sweet style chili sauce) and I like spicy but if you order the bun grilled meats and noodles then it's fine. They put fried shallots on top which is great. Havn't tried the Pho but I'm sure it's great also. The bahn mi is also very good. It's in a little corner next to Total so a great location . First time to try their signature "pho dac biet " and it is delicious! Also ordered the "cafe su da" which, is iced coffee with condensed milk and some fresh spring rolls. Pho sizes are only medium and large. May choose to switch noodles to your liking whether you prefer egg noodles or the regular pho noodles. Their broth is very comforting and just so yummy. I recommend all of them to you. Everything is perfect to taste in my opinion. Service is very quick and easy. Enjoyed my meals here. We'll be back for more. Super clean and spacious. Came here a couple weeks ago, I had been craving pho for some time. Been here numerous times before and it was always good. This last time it was just meh. Their broth was off, not too flavorful. My husband originally ordered a rice dish. The guy came back out a few mins later...they were out of rice!! How does that happen?? We used to come here pretty often with my family but after my last experience here, I will not be returning. They gave us the wrong order and when I tried to explain to the older man that took our order and brought it to us that it was incorrect he argued with me and insisted that I was wrong. At one point he was even yelling insisting that I was the one who told him the wrong thing. He finally took it back and corrected it but was very upset over it. I later saw him doing the same thing with another customer as it seems like the same thing happened - incorrect order and he was arguing with them. A younger guy was at the register and I asked him for a box and he seemed irritated that I was asking for something and the box he gave me was dirty and had pieces of old vegetables in it. When I asked for a replacement, he again was acting very annoyed by my request. I ordered a sandwich to go for later and when I opened it, the sandwich was a mess and it looked like someone just threw it together. When it's constantly raining in Seattle, a hot bowl of pho sounds like a terrific idea. The restaurant is located in the corner of the Total Wine plaza and the storefront isn't really that inviting. It's kind of dark inside, with only lamps overhead. It's not that big inside with only about 10 tables or so. The service is pretty quick. I ordered pho tai bo vien (beef and meatballs) and I thought it was alright. Nothing special and nothing to write home about. The broth was hot but the noodles were a little on the overcooked side. The slices of beef weren't that tender, more on the rough side. To be quite honest, the broth wasn't that flavorful. Not the greatest pho place but when you're craving pho and it's right in front of you, you can't say no. My mom and I were out doing some errands and was craving some pho cause of the cold weather and this was the closest to us so we gave it a try. It was during lunch time and we didn't see anyone in the restaurant when we walked in so we were confused if this was a good place or we were just early? We were seated right away and the server was quick with our order and provided us with some ice water. I decided on the fresh spring roll and the special rice dish that included short rib, pork chop, and two egg rolls. My mom got the Pho Dac Biet. The spring roll was great since I love eating spring roll any chance I get, you can never go wrong with some spring rolls to start out your lunch. The food came out quick. When my rice dish came out, the presentation was super nice but I saw that it was super greasy from the short rib and pork chop. I had to wipe my hand several time so that I didn't have any grease on my hand. Some part of the pork chop wasn't cook thoroughly and that's really bad but I caught it quickly before eating those part. When the pho came out, you expect to get a good smelly aroma from the spices in the broth but there wasn't any at all when the pho came out. My mom said the meat was chewy and it wasn't good at all! Everything was pretty pricey, our total bill was around $30 and we didn't order that much at all. Firstly. My wife and I have gone here plenty of times before, and she's never received this kind of service/experience. Today, she went there with her mom and our son for lunch. She had let me know the older gentlemen that served them(assuming he was the owner) messed up their table order as well as other customers in the restaurant. And each time, he was argumentative and combative anyway, I wasn't there, so I can't speak on that BUT I did order to go through my wife, and this time the younger gentleman at the counter took the order based on my wife his tone was very condescending and even asked if she was sure her order was correct as if the first time she messed up. So Here we are this is how my sandwich showed up. Should I have ordered to go knowing about the issue ? Prob not. Will we go here again? Prob not. My review prob won't stand out, but my wife is a yelp elite , and her experience will be shared shortly. This was the vietnamese ham banh mi I've never received such hard bread(even after warming it up) and the ham seems to be cut in into long squares instead of thin layers. After a long day of travel, the best thing you can eat is a warm bowl of hearty soup. Pho Alderwood was easy to get to from route 5N, and while the service was pretty lackluster, the food and prices more than made up for it. When you walk into a place and you only hear Vietnamese, you're in for a good meal, and this place was no exception. I think we were the only Americans in the joint. I, of course, had to get the pho tai chin. They are not stingy with meat, that's for sure. In fact, they're pretty darn generous. There was more meat in my bowl than I could finish. The noodles were not soggy - they were cooked just right. The true stand out, however, was the pork bahn mi. Do yourself a favor and get two of them. Overall, not a bad little spot. I came here last night because my family was craving Spring rolls, I decided to go along because I was pretty hungry myself. I ordered the pork chop rice meal thing. It was pretty good, except I didn't get the fish sauce mixture that goes with it. I saw the server realize what he did, and he was about to give it to me, but as soon as he realized I was already eating, he decided to not give it to me. Visited here on a weeknight to get quick dinner while shopping in the area. I was craving pho and Pho Alderwood had both Pho and the Vietnamese sandwich my husband was looking for. As we were seated, the arrangement looked casual enough. We walked in, were greeted, and told to sit where we wanted. Unluckily enough, I picked the one table that wasn't cleaned (no dirty dishes or silverware, just a bit of food pieces on the tabletop). We ended up sitting at a table closest to the door, there wasn't a draft that would be let in as people entered...not too shabby. I was impressed by the fact that this restaurant served water in glasses, no idea why that's impressive but I did like that. Otherwise, nothing too special about this location. The pho broth gets the job done, but isn't spectacular. I know this broth is hard enough to make at home, so I won't speak negatively of it. My husband's sandwich was a winner though. We liked the combination of veg, meat, and the quality of the bread. I think next time we're craving a Vietnamese sandwich and are in the area, we might pick some up to go. read more

I want to make it clear that I am giving this place 4 stars based on everything else on their menu and not the pho. If I did a review on only their pho then the review would be 1 star. Trust me people... the pho here is barely average on a good day. Regardless, the rest of the stuff they have is fantastic and they are one the few places (in my area) that also serves Banh mi or Vietnamese sandwiches. I've had both the grilled pork and the fried tofu sandwiches and they were equally good. Also, they have a wide selection of Vietnamese Noodle Salads with my favorite being the Bun thit nuong or Vermicelli noodles with a mixed salad, sliced cucumbers, grilled pork and fried spring rolls. The menu is pretty wide and offers so much more than just pho... so, if you're hungry for pho DON'T EAT HERE... but definitely give it a try for actual Vietnamese cuisine. read more
