Mien Ga - chicken pho w glass noodles
    Hieu L.

For those seeking a truly authentic, soul-warming bowl that arguably stands as Sacramento's finest, Pho Anh Dao is an essential pilgrimage. Hold in the wall joint. Expect a wait as it gets busy here, the broth is the undisputed centerpiece: a rich, aromatic masterpiece clearly simmered with patience and precision. Before you go, keep these two hallmarks in mind: * Traditional Focus: The menu is beautifully streamlined, specializing exclusively in Beef or Chicken varieties. * Cash is King: This is a strictly cash-only establishment, so come prepared. Don't overlook their exceptional house-made chili oil--it adds a perfect, fiery depth to a bowl already famous for its restorative powers. Whether you are nursing a hangover, fighting a cold, or simply in need of culinary comfort, this pho is the ultimate cure.

My friend got me to try this place a few years ago when I was going through chemo and didn't feel well most of the time. He suggested Pho Anh Dao and it would make me feel better. He recommended the chicken pho with glass noodles and ordered the beef bone marrow. When I tell you the Pho was delicious and the broth is so flavorful it definitely hit the spot. When I tell you I did start to feel better not so dehydrated and sickly we were coming here frequently. The service is always wonderful and staff is always so friendly. The inside of the restaurant itself is nothing special, but does have plenty of seating to dine in. The open at 10am and a line starts to form around 9:40am so if you're not there early you will be on a waitlist. This place is cash only!! So bring plenty of it lol. The prices are fantastic and you get generous portions. This is my favorite pho spot as it continues to bounce me back. This is the best medicine.

BOOooommm.. tastes the way it did years ago. Not sure if it's the ridiculous wait time for a bowl of pre assemble soup that kick up your "RAVENOUS" or what - but it was worth it in my humble opinion. -This was my regular spot prior to the food coming out like a normal pho spot and not tasting the same. -Combination Pho - was yummy and hearty. Broth was on point, very rich in the essence of Monosodium Glutamate and slowly simmered beef bone. The perfect Sensory Synonyms - magical.... - Vietnamese Coffee, a must have when eating at cash only spot. The dude made it right, it was good..... - Verdict: if you never been here or haven't been for a while, definitely worth checking out. I will be back soon.

Pho Anh Dao is the best soup noodle that i ever had in Sacramento area. The service is quite slow. The waiting time is 30 mins - 1 hour but it's worth the wait. I always get chicken soup and my husband always get beef noodle soup. I would like to give them 5 stars because the soup is excellent!

Food 5/5 stars +++++ The broth is excellent! I can taste the lower amount of sodium in comparison to a lot of monosodium glutamate pho places. The family holds their traditional pho recipe down. Service 4.5/5 +++++ The only down part of this restaurant is the wait. I waited like 20 minutes. There is always a lot of people here. Also, cash only, you can Zelle if you don't have cash on you. Ambiance - 5/5 +++++ I liked the Vietnamese cooking videos playing the background. Me and my daughter were watching while waiting for our food. This is an authentic family owned Vietnamese cuisine. I feel the Southeast Asian vibe when I eat in here.

Hearty, Delicious & Scrumptious Chicken Pho! SITREP Thanks to awesome friend & yelper Alex T. (aka SacFoodFromAbove on social medias) we got to check out this yummy pho stop that he had put on our radar. THE SETUP Pardon my ignorance but I had NO IDEA that Pho is considered a *breakfast food*. So when Alex first suggested that Annie, Richard and I join him for a 10am brunch at Pho Anh Dao, I was a bit confused - but NOW it all makes sense! If anything, the restaurant made this reality clear to me by having a 10am start time in which they serve Pho! (Hey, if the *legit* Vietnamese community is doing this, than it must be right!) LE MENU There were so many options to choose from including beef Pho and beef bones to add to your meal. I went with the Large Clear-Noodle Chicken Pho ($13) which was only $1 more than the Small version, but which came in a much larger bowl (I even had half leftover to take home in a to-go soup container). The broth was very favorable to which we could spice up with wasabe and chili sauce. And there were a LOT of chicken pieces! Even Annie, our resident Chinese-cuisine / Asian-cuisine expert was surprised at how much chicken there was! THE LOWDOWN Come check out the delicious Pho!

Taste the slow cooked pho broth goodness! Perfectly spiced umami flavor - only offer chicken and beef pho...so they don't waste energy on other dishes but do their best on core strength - delivering the best pho! My fave is the chicken pho w/glass (or clear) noodles which was recommended by my Yelp pal Alex T! There are other types of noodles - standard rice (or vermicelli) noodles and egg noodles, too. But as Alex says - the clear noodles absorb the broth best - making for the most flavorful noodle experience! They also have beef bone in broth for those who love tendon soup & beef bone marrow. Their pho game can't be beat!

Randomly stopped in with my mom for a quick lunch. They only had a handful of items on their menu as they specialize just in pho. The pho broth was so clear and taste so clean with flavor! Did not need to add anything to it. 3 stars because the server could not tell Us what we ordered when our bowls arrived, we ordered 3 bowls, #6, 8 and 11, we asked but she set it down and left. Please note this restaurant is cash only

Best chicken noodle in Sacramento. If you are ever in the sac area and want Pho, this is the place to go too. They only take cash btw. The wait times will be super long on weekends and the food takes about 30-45 minutes to come out and I am not sure why. I have been coming here ever since I was a little kid and nothing has changed about this place. Their chili oil is the best chili oil I have ever tasted too

    John N.

Delicious phở gà and miền gà at awesome prices. This place has a reputation as one of the best Phở spots in Sacramento and I agree with that statement. Expect to wait between 15-40 minutes for your meal. Service could be improved by providing a menu and reducing wait times.

Good as always. Got the last bowl. The ones after us missed out on the dark meat pho.

Best pho in the world. Get the chicken pho. Broth is great already but add the condiments and they bring it to its fullest life.

    Hai L.

I go here at least once every other week since I was a little kid but never reviewed this restaurant. It's been around forever. If you're in the mood for Vietnamese chicken soup (pho ga), this is one of the go to spots for it.

The shelving behind the kiosk has plants, bottles of Veuv and wine nicely placed. There's some nice Vietnam themed artwork throughout. A vibrant, colorful mural is painted on the wall near the entrance and more wall art towards the back. I was impressed to see they even serve Veuve here. That makes for a fun brunch! Our party of five were road tripping home from the weekend and passing through. We always stop at Quan Nem Ninh Hoa for lunch and get the House Special 2 DIY spring rolls with the grilled pork complete with veggies, their special sauce and those crispy sticks. I was also hungry for some Bun Cha Ca (fish soup) which has mackerel, fish cake, tomatoes, pineapple and cabbage. I enjoyed mine with egg noodles. So delicious- even on a hot day! I also like their banh xeo here, very crispy and the right amount of veggies. PRO-TIP YOU NEED TO TRY: Don't sleep on their appetizer menu! Stop by TK Noodles down the street first, grab some chicharrones to-go, and sprinkle them right on top of the Banh Beo here. Total game changer! Try something else besides pho, I love pho but Vietnamese cuisine has many distinct soup dishes when you factor in regional variations, unique broths, and different noodle types. If you look past phở, Vietnamese soups generally fall into a few massive, distinct categories based on how the broth is built and what kind of noodle is used.

The broken rice plates also remind me of the places my mom took me to in Westminster and Garden Grove growing up. We ordered the combo pho, and the broth was surprisingly bland & lacking the depth and richness you'd expect. The meat was tough, there was barely any tripe, and no tendon at all, which was disappointing for a "combo." I also requested less noodles, but that adjustment was mistakenly given to my husband's bowl instead. Not a huge issue on its own, but it added to the overall experience. That said, the menu offers a wide variety of broken rice dishes, so it seems like that might be more of their specialty. If I were to return, I'd probably try one of those instead of the pho.
