Tasty pho with hot broth BUT why giving a 3 Star? Cus the bowl of so called Large pho was TINY and it cost $13 and will reach over $15+ after tax and tips! Solid pho spot right next to 99 ranch. It took a moment for anyone to come out to seat us so we just took a seat down. They don't bring menus to your table so you need to look either at the front or near the cashier to see the menu. We just stood there for a bit since we weren't sure if we were supposed to order back at our table or at the front. Food came out really quick and the broth was great. It was on the clear side, not dark, and piping hot (as it should be). The egg rolls were also extremely hot but the nuoc mam (fish sauce) was extremely disappointing. The color was nearly clear and had hardly any flavor for me to want to dip the egg roll into. The plate of veggies (bean sprouts, basil) was pretty lacking IMO as they didn't provide too much compared to many other pho places I've gone to. Grabbed some pho after work with my co-worker and mom. Yes, we were the crazy ones eating pho when it's like 80 degrees out. We were greeted and sat ourselves down. The lady that was working came by with menus and excused herself to grab our waters. By the time she came back we were ready to order. #8, #10, and #11. What the differences were you ask? TBH.. I don't remember, but each were slightly different with the meat options. The food came pretty quickly after we ordered. Speedy service is always a plus. The small sized pho is filled with the right amount of noodles and lots of meat. The broth was flavorful, but a tad salty. Still good. If pho doesn't sound delish to you, they also have vermicelli bowls and rice plates. My only negative about the restaurant is that there was plenty of tables that hadn't been cleaned off. It makes them seem a tad dirty, BUT most Asian restaurants that are a bit dirty have the best food. Go figure! read more

Quite possibly the most rudest stay I've ever encountered. My wife and I came in at noon on a Saturday and they were understandably busy. We decided to seat ourselves as there were people behind us and we did not want to clog up the entrance. The staff decided that this was not to their liking and decided to ignore us for about five minutes until we decided to leave. Seriously? I'd expect this type of behavior from middle schoolers but these were grown people acting with a low level of immaturity. If they would had just told us in the beginning we would have acknowledged that we were wrong and apologized but I guess they thought they were above that? The owner here needs an attitude check, if you are looking for the most unwelcoming restaurant in the area, this is definitely the place to go! Also, tables were set apart only about 2 feet from each other so social distancing was pretty much non-existent. read more

Ordered pho over the phone because i was running late and they were on my way home. Order was ready when i came in to get it. Service was quick and 2 small pho were already bagged when i arrived. When I got home, the package was opened and my partner asked whether i had gone to a new place . This is because the amount of meat we normally get at our regular place is about 3x as much as we received here. I inspected son's dish to confirm there were like 4-5 small slices of chicken in the entire meal. These aren't big 1/2" thick long slabs, but maybe quarter sized pieces. Was disappointed to think I paid about $25 for some broth, noodles and 1-2 ounces of chicken, at best. Gets 2 stars because I was told the plates were yummy. read more

Pho is a real treat to have on a chilly day or whenever you're sick. It's especially great when you're hungover! Anytime of the day is perfect for this comfort food. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, it don't matta! Renton has quite a few restaurants but I've found I really enjoy Pho Bac Cafe's broth (Kent location). It's just right! I mean, it's the base of the dish. If you don't got that down, you got nothing. Prices are good, only $7 for a small bowl which is quite filling for me! $8 large, $11 X-large and appetizers are around $3. I usually like to order the Pho Chin which is noodle soup with well done beef flank or Pho Bo Vien (beef meatballs). The big chopped pieces of onion add that much more flava! I'm not a fan of rare beef just cause it freaks me out if it's not cooked and they're usually hunks of meat which makes it a bit harder to eat. The last time my friends and I came here was during a lunch rush. The staff did an excellent job of keeping everyone satisfied. read more

First I wanted to state they had fast service once you get your order in. Be patient if they are tending to other guest because this location isn't small but a good size for a family not wanting it to be big!! So we ordered spring rolls, crispy fried spring rolls, pho bo vien, pho with everything (you know tripe and all), roasted chicken dish that came with rice, papaya salad, 2 good size chicken and a side of broth My daughter absolutely loved the fried spring rolls Pho broth was sensational! For broth it could be a flavorful or bland. You can tell it was homemade and not store bought I think will be making this our new local spot for Pho!! Excited to try many more things on their menu Saw lots of ppl order their Vietnamese ice coffee! So I'm excited to try it out! Service was very impressive!!! I used to love this place when it opened way back in 2003/2004. My last visit here was nothing short of disappointing. My husband & I wanted something quick and semi-healthy so we stopped in for lunch. I ordered a soda which was listed as "Pepsi" products and listed several different 'types' (Slice, Mtn. Dew, etc). Every flavor I requested was 'out'. Then when I said "Ok, just Pepsi." I was told that they actually only carry Coke Products. Uhm, so why would your menu state the total opposite? I decided to not have Pho and go with the Beef Short Ribs & rice. The ribs came out and looked good but I quickly realized I wasn't given a knife to cut the meat. When I asked, I was told that the only knife they had was a butter knife or they could use 'scissors' to cut my already cooked meat. The last few times they've been out of cucumber when I needed it for the dish I ordered. Get it together guys. I keep trying to bring you business but you're giving me no reason to return. read more

I think it's pretty average for a Pho place and I wasn't disappointed at all. Each part of the dish seemed fresh, flavorful and certainly what I was hoping for and would expect. The portion was just right too, not leaving me hungry or needing to take any home. The food was good, fast and fairly reasonably priced, even for lunch time. I eat here almost every other week because it's so close to my work. The ladies who work here are very friendly and if you come often enough, they know your order. I only get the small rare beef pho and it has always been very consistent. Good balance of noodles to broth. My two complaints are the utensils can get greasy so wipe them before you eat and no sawtooth herb (only OG pho places have this herb). They give you lots of meat if you're into that kind of thing. I eat a lot of pho and I make a lot of pho at home. If you like your pho like me that is deep and flavorful (light on the aromatics), this place is for you! read more

Pretty good. Expensive. Little meat. I have to admit, the pho I ordered was pretty good. Their broth was just right with a good amount of noodles and onions. However all I could find in my bowl were only three slices of meat. I also ordered Thai tea and it tasted exactly it was opened from the bottle. Plus they putted in a BUNCH of ice. I went yesterday with a group of friends and decided to share a large pho with my friend since we both weren't that hungry. As we ordered I let the waitress know that I just needed an extra bowl as I was sharing the large with my friend. She then let me know that "The large is only meant for one person proportion". I let her know that it's alright we are fine with sharing the large. I've been to countless pho restaurants and can hardly finish a small much less a large. We received our bowl, the amount of noodles and meat we received was less than our friend who ordered a small. Another of our friends ordered a large as well and got double the noodles that we got. I can confidently say that we received half as many noodles and meat as what should be in a large (again I have been to countless pho places). I understand feeling petty that I didn't order something, but that doesn't mean you should skim us just because you're feeling petty! She didn't visit our table again after dropping off our food and was unfriendly as we were paying. Definitely don't recommend there's so many other, better and more respectful pho restaurants!! read more

They do not provide a menu for you at your table. You have to stand in the window where they have the menu taped and then either sit at the table or go to the register and tell them what you want. Like come on invest a couple dollars into some paper menus its that simple. read more

The worst fried rice I ever had in my life. Instead of suggesting something else that they can do well, they over promised that they can deliver even though fried rice is not on the menu. They pulled the meat from their pho to make my fried rice and added a bunch of frozen vegetable and bean sprout to my fried rice. Who does that? Guess how much it costs? $13. I like the pho here, it's my #1 place to go whenever I want pho. Whenever I walked into the restaurant it has this really satisfying smell. The broth here is hella good compare to other places, it never gave me the saltiness feeling down your throat afterwards. I think it's also really cheap. Recommend this place. read more

I'm just going to give them the benefit of the doubt since I know service jobs are painful but this experience was sad. Sad in that it shares the Pho Bac name but does not live up to the other Pho Bacs around the greater seattle area. Service - 1 star: Walked in, waited to be seated, guy behind counter gives eye contact but does not greet. Okay its one of those self serve vietnamese places. We proceed to sit ourselves. Sits and wait for menu - does not come. Okay...it really is a self serve place. I get up and get the menu at the counter where that same guy is at...just chilling...like wtf!. Thats not the worst part. We're waiting to order - that same dude still chilling is not the one that takes our order - its the lady in the kitchen that comes out and greets us and takes the order and tells that dude to get water for us. Gets us water and thats the last time we see him. Food - 2 star; mother in law got the vermicelli noodles and it was sad. The shrimp looked like the ones frozen from the market and just steamed back up. The meat was all fat and the whole bowl was just noodles. - Don't get this dish. Their pho rises this place's food up to 2 stars. Pho was not bad and just how we'd expect it to. I overall gave it a 2 star because I didn't want this restaurant to suffer because of an individual but this restuarant really needs to shapen up - cause at this rate, I don't know how it'll survive. read more

I have been here a few times and the one in Tacoma. This one has a more extensive menu to choose from but I prefer the one in Tacoma. Service: 3/5 - some of the waiters/ waitress doesn't speak much english and they need to do a better job of cleaning things up. Food: Pho #12- Amongst my friends and I - we had 3 bowls of pho- 1 small $8 and 2 large $9 each and yet they gave us the same plate of bean sprouts. It looked slightly more than someone ordering 1 bowl of pho. The pho soup was on the saltier side. I remember they said this place has super good broth but I feel it is just average. It has more flavor than places that just taste sweet though. The amount of noodles put into my large bowl of pho looked only slightly more than my friend's small bowl of pho. How much does bean sprouts and noodles cost? In addition the amount of meat I had was the same porportion as my friend's small bowl of pho. Because of the amount of food give I would give them a 3/5 for this. The rice special plate $10- (my friend replaced the rice with vermicilli ) she said tasted good but I did not really taste much of it so I will refrain from rating it much except that I tried the vermicilli. It was really wet and i didn't like it. The fried egg rolls were $4 for 2. It tasted really good and crunchy. It was still on the smaller side though and inside of it was mostly carrot. 3.5/5 I would rate this 3/5 for the amount of food given and the service. You come and eat and it is good enough but there are many other Pho places that I would try/ go to before feeling that I must go here. It is an okay spot if you are in the neighbour but I would not go out of my way to come here. Had they been a bit more generous with the proportions I would have given them a possible 4/5. I love Vietnamese food and I've tried a lot of places but this is my all time favorite. I live almost 40 min away but I will always force whoever I'm with to come down to Kent for bomb viet food. Everything about this restaurant is authentic and I'm all for authentic Asian food. They're always so nice to my family, considering that we go here a lot and my dad is very specific with his order, but every time we come in, they already know what he wants to order. Their pho, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, coffee, banh mi is ALL GOOD. My go-to pho order is always brisket, tripe, and tendon and they never slump on the meats! I usually can never drink all my soup but I always end up cleaning my entire bowl every time I get pho. I'm just glad it's across from 99 ranch so I'm always excited to grocery shop knowing that I can stop by when I do. read more

Grilled pork, shrimp, pork sausage (?) - looks like spam, eggroll - pleasantly surprised that the grilled pork is pretty tasty. They are thinly sliced and marinated well. For $13 compared to other similar restaurants, it's better deal. Beef brisket pho taste great too. Good value. Although service is pretty much non-existent, it's typical. One thing that's pretty weird is they don't provide menu so either go with the server's recommendations or walk near the cashier to look at menu selections. read more

Let me preface this by saying I never leave yelp reviews. Like ever. But i strongly feel the need to now. I strongly suspect the pho I was served was reheated or possibly even reused. As I was eating I started getting a bad stomach ache. The bean sprouts I was served were brown and wilted that should have been my red flag to get out then and there but I held out. I've eaten reheated pho before but that was out of my own refrigerator. What they served me tasted exactly like that. I hope they get a surprise visit from a health inspector real soon. read more

It was strange that this place was deserted when we arrived for dinner as we were the only patrons there. I am always worried if we are the only ones at a restaurant seeing if there could be something wrong with the joint. The four of us in our group each ordered the pho and there are many combinations you can choose from. I got the standard beef with pho and it was good with the tasty broth. They had added green onions and cilantro into the broth which made it extra tasty. With the small size bowl I ordered it was filing enough and the $6 price point was just about right. They service was quick and we got our food super quick since we were the only ones there. Not sure why the place was so empty, but definitely someplace I wouldn't mind coming again if I need a bowl of pho which isn't very often. read more
