Pho noodle soup #3 & Shrimp noodle

Great flavor, service friendly and really good. Space decent size. Definitely a mom and pop shop restaurant

crab rangoons

Mom and pop restaurant. Food is always good and comes out quick. Always a staple when i'm craving pho. Love the cream cheese wontons and brisket pho!

The pho.

With an understanding that inflation is hurting everyone; I still recommend this place. A large does not mean you will get more ingredients, just a larger bowl with more rice noodle. Meat portions the same as small (IMO). With that out the way....the flavor spot-on!!! Delicious!

Yummy garlic chicken!!

3.5 stars considering the area and available options. Noodle soup portions are pretty large. Large size was too much to finish and had a lot of meat. Pho broth could be a bit more flavorful/spiced, but that's a personal preference. Hu tieu dac biet (special combo) had a mix of shrimp, squid, imitation crab, fish balls or fried tofu (I forget), chicken, pork. They can even make it with the wide rice noodles (aka chow fun / ho fun noodles) instead of the regular pho noodles. Fyi they don't take Amex.

My favorite pho place in Modesto. The broth is very authentic and everything is fresh. The staff is all very nice too, you can also get your car washed and detailed while you eat. Highly recommended

I'm updating my review. Sadly enough this place satisfies by pho craving. And even sadder is this place is the best place to go for Vietnamese restaurant. It's obvious this place changed owner. I can tell from the quality of the pho. It's more of the quantity. I ordered small #2 and I definitely got small. The old owners weren't that stingy. Also, the laminated menu for the drink (see photo) shows a photo of the drinks with numbers shown but NOTHING shows what the drinks are. Will we return, unfortunately cause they are the "best" in town, unless you drive to Pleasanton, CA, the nearest place to good pho. And even though they have a sign that shows American Express, they said I couldn't pay our meal with it. The Amex sign was for the car wash but they had NO SIGN stating that Amex was for carwash. Service: B Quality: C Price: $ and starting to go $$

This place has nice cozy vibes. The service was great. It's not a very large place, but the servers…read morewere very attentive and quick. Food came out quickly, especially for considering that every table was full in that place. I ordered the vermicelli bowl #20 with shrimp pork and chicken. I enjoyed the pork the most, there wasn't much chicken, but there was a lot of lettuce. I added all of the sauce given for my noodles, but even after that they still tasted dry. I really wish it was better, but it was just ok food.

I heard about this place for a long time and we happened to be in Modesto just down the road, so…read morewe stopped by for dinner. This place is really tiny. The bottom level had some tables that were put together to make a large table and maybe 3 other tables. They asked if we wanted to sit upstairs and I said it was fine and up there there was about four tables. I was ready to give this place 5 stars, but I did take a star off first service. When we were sat and asked what we wanted to drink and I started with my drink first and then I ordered for my daughters, the waitress asked me again what I wanted and I was confused. I told her again and then she went on her way. When it came to ordering, I asked for the chicken wing appetizer, pork chow fun and a large #1 pho with two small bowls, so that we could share. After I ordered, she asked me what size pho I wanted. Our drinks arrived, but my 10-year-olds drink was a lot larger than the other drinks we had ordered, which we weren't expecting. The chicken wings came first. We ordered them mild and I will tell you, those were some of the best chicken wings I've ever had...the sauce is sweet, the wings are crisp, but still moist. Definitely will go back and try this in a medium level. The pork chow fun looked a little bit different than what I was used to, but it tasted pretty good. It came with cabbage, broccoli, cilantro and a few other vegetables. The pho came out and the broth smelled really good and I started adding my sauces, but then realize that we did not receive a plate with any of the vegetables. Being seated upstairs, it's really hard to get the attention of your server who is downstairs. When she finally came upstairs, I told her we did not receive any of the vegetables and she went down and brought us a plate that had 3 slices of jalapeno, a pile of bean sprouts and one lime for the 3 of us. No basil whatsoever. At that point I didn't want to ask for anything else, so I let it go. A different server came upstairs and told us to take our time and had placed the bill on the table and I asked for some to go containers, she brought it promptly and then the other server had come and asked if we needed boxes when the boxes and the bag were already sitting on the corner of the table. We will definitely go back in give it another go and hopefully the service is a little bit better because I would love to give this place a 5 star review.

I write this knowing you only have a couple weeks left to enjoy…read more The ramen here is incredible. You would be hard pressed to find better tasting food prepared by a more passionate person. Everything was fresh, everything was delicious, everything exceeded our expectations. This felt like a bay area experience right up the street. No traffic, no problematic parking just good people and good food.

I never was interested in going there for years since it's been there but decided to try it tonight. Firstly, the ramen place holds maybe 40 at most and we had to wait a while before we were seated. They asked if we had a reservation but didn't think that it would be needed since it's not like a fancy restaurant and I don't know many ramen places that takes reservations. Since we didn't , we got seated on the bar which is fine. For it being in Modesto, they try to get the anime vibe with toys and anime art around. I'm no ramen expert but I've tried over a dozen ramen places in Tokyo, Vancouver, Japan town in LA, San Francisco, Oahu, Seattle just to name a few cities. So we got first the spicy garlic edamame. Not bad at all, had a kick to it and was edible. From a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 5. For the main entree, I wanted the garlic tonkatsu but the waitress said they ran out.... Ok, for a Saturday night at 6 pm, running out of a ramen and they've been in business for several years now?!? never had that happen before in any ramen shop I've been to. So me and my wife both got the Ichiraku ramen which was a miso broth with pork belly. Price $23. I added 2 more pork belly at $5 more. Oh, the waitress mentioned no bamboo shoots and no fish cake........ ok, never had that happen before in a ramen shop. So while eating edamame, I kept track of how long it took we got our ramen.... It took 30 minutes before we got our ramen... definitely atypical to wait that long wait but I guess it's because they offer a lot of items besides ramen. Presentation was fine, the pork belly was seared on one side with a blow torch since I can taste that searing. . It just had green onions, 2 seaweeds and 2 soft boiled eggs which I was impressed the yolk wasn't overcooked. The noodles I chose was thin and was good with a soft texture. The miso broth was average Over all, it was an okay ramen. Me and my wife both didn't finish our bowls... definitely unusual since we love ramen but somehow, it didn't fulfill our satiety to finish and be content. I can tell you that of all the ramen places I've been to. This is average and doesn't compare to Ramen 101 in Modesto that I've ordered many times before my first time here. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars because the ramen was average and not in the same league as other ramens I've had in other places and cities. And if me and my wife couldn't finish our ramen, that's a tell tale sign it was just okay. Plus, the place is called Konfucius Eats, doesn't have a Japanese name for a restaurant since "Confucius " is a Chinese Philosopher lol. In fact, I didn't see any Japanese or Asian cooks... just saying that's atypical to the other ramen establishments I've been to. For Modesto, it's aight. I just can't see myself going back here for a long time. Lastly, they are open Tuesday to Saturday only .
