I love this place. Still my favorite Pho in the central Valley. Yes the place is kind of a hole in the wall type of place its not fancy at all but the pho is delicious. They make it San Jose style which I love! Plus their menu is awesome the freaking chicken wings are out of this world! You will never feel the same about a chicken wing again. I hit this place up once a week, usually on Sundays for recovery pho after Saturday night drinks, but not always! Always order the #11 small - rare steak only because I'm not into tripe and pretty picky about textures but anyone we take here loves whatever they order! Also love the crispy eggrolls and the garlicy sauce that comes with it.. yum. The service is fast and the food is fresh. You can see into the kitchen right where they make your food and I always like that. I want to take that big stock pot of pho broth home with me! Its really, really casual (AKA total dive) and the bathrooms are pretty sketchy, but it's totally worth it! So dissapointed! I have been coming to this place for a while now and have always liked the food. Today, food was not good at all. I'm not sure if they changed chefs or what the case might be but I was not satisfied with my pho. Also, my daughter ordered a rice plate and when the server brought the food, my daughter noticed a piece of hair- she immediately told the server who went back to the kitchen to bring a small bowl of rice . She scooped out the contaminated rice and replaced it with the new rice- my daughter was disgusted that her whole meal wasn't replaced and refused to eat it. We won't rerun to this place. read more

Kind of grimy and gross. The pho was not great. Good broth but they skimped out on the meat and the noodles were one congealed mess sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The bean sprouts and mint they serve you on the side was at the end of their days and looked wilted and sad. If you want something cheap, quick and dirty this is your place. read more

there are way better pho places in modesto like pho viet or pho seven... the noodles here are kinda hard and the basil is old.. this lady who works here (i think she's the owner) walks around swatting flies as people are eating which is rude and nasty also she does not greet customers.. eggrolls are pretty good.. read more

The food was OK. Terrible service. From the time we got there we were rushed to order. They seated us without first telling us they would be closing soon and got a little bit of attitude from the woman telling us we couldn't take our time to order and had to order right away. This was my first time here and had no idea what to order and felt anxious trying to rush. The egg rolls were good. I really didn't care for the won ton soup . they forgot about my friends shake and we had to remind them. At the end the woman had closed her til and so we couldn't split the check... NO STAR!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!! On 8/23/2015--We were super hungry and thought we give this place a try. I should have known, it was a No No. It was located next door to a car shop/wash. I believe there's no restroom??? The place looked busy and we got seated for a table of 5. In sight there were 2 host, 1 waiter and 1 cook. They all passed by and did not offer drinks or a menu. We sat there looking at each other and the feeling was not right (Our seat was front and centered!) After waiting for a couple more minutes we left. The waiter rushed us to order. We were approached less than five minutes after receiving the menu. We told the waiter we were not ready, and a different waiter approached two minutes later. They did not ask us if we wanted something to drink, and also would not cook my food the way I wanted them to cook it, which was simply to make it spicy. The to-go pho here is the best I've seen. They don't put the noodles in the broth like some other places do. So I don't have to deal with throwing it out just cause the noodles get all saturated. So I get 2 meals out of it basically. And they don't skimp on the meat either. SCORE! read more

Came for dinner today and couldn't help but think if I walked into a bar or a restaurant. The music was playing really loud and I could barely hear the waiter. Don't come here if your trying to carrying out a conversation with anyone. But anyways, I ordered the Pho Tai, medium bowl with my meat on the side. This is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Modesto. The menu has extensive and variety selections of Vietnamese food. I ordered a small Bun Bo Hue, $5.45, and Che Ba Mau, $2.75. The total came out to be $9 (including tax). How cheap is that?? The food would not be compared to Orange County's or San Jose's, but it was very decent and well-flavored. I would definitely come back here for other dishes. Highly recommend if you want CHEAP, but DECENT food! read more

I love how this place has a car wash to drive through to park. I'm half vietnamese and it just makes sense! Anyway, the food, if you're looking for that fix of comfort food, come here, get some rice and meat (grilled pork) and relax. Food comes out fast and the service is consistently good. Came here awhile ago. It was maybe 30-40 minutes before closing. There was still a good amount of people there but, from the moment we walked in, the lady was so rude. After talking back and forth kind of angrily with the guy behind the counter in their language, she sat us down. She made it very clear she was not happy and did not want to serve us. Bad start to the meal already. Reluctantly, my bf and I stayed and ordered. There were still people there eating anyway and they still let people in after us! I had the bun bo hue, I think bf had pho. It wasn't that great, definitely had better. Their egg rolls are good. Although, the rude, unfriendly, rushed, and plain out horrible service continued throughout our whole meal. Needless to say, I will NOT be coming back. Tip for that lady: Good service really does go a long way. Regardless if someone comes in 30 minutes before closing, they are still a paying customer and deserve quality service. The Pho here is really good. I've had their rare steak pho and their calamari appetizer. They have it all perfectly fried along with some fried veggies in crispy batter. I recommend for lunch since the service is fast and hot! They have a car wash attached which makes it a little confusing but it's also nice to be able to grab a bite while your car is getting washed. I saw other meals around at other tables and they all looked really good. I will be back to try some of the other options besides the pho. read more

This restaurant started my love for pho, however their inconsistencies and customer service has only earned them a 4.0/5.0 star. I am a regular to this restaurant, and have to say that the noodles are very good. This is because a good broth compliments it, and is smothered in MSG which is good for the taste factor not for the health factor. I always order the rare steak with it, and it is really good complimented with some spring rolls filled with grilled pork. The jalapenos cut up are always spicy, the bean sprouts are always juicy with freshness, and the mint seems like it was freshly grown in the backyard. Their vegetables are all fresh that come with the soup or garnishes on the side of plates. The thing that makes this pho good is the grilled pork. The grilled pork is what started my love for this place and made me more open to the pho phenomenon. Its sweet taste always seems to pull you in and make you eat at this pho place. Also it may seem trashy, however there is a car wash outside. You can get your car washed, where if you live in a rural area your car gets dirty going to try to eat at this place, while you eat. The grilled pork place (number 60 on the new menu) comes with a chicken broth, salad, white rice, and the pork. Vinegar dipping sauce is also available. The remodeling as brought some new faces to the place and some of the older people who I liked have seemed to have vanished. One guy would always comment on how he liked my car when I came, and always filled my water to make sure it was full. The prices always seemed to have gone up after they remodeled, and they renumbered their menu confusing me on my order a few times. The people seem to do their own thing, you have to try to get their attention now to get a refill or more food. With the prices gone up, it does cost more than Kansas pho, however it still is an overall better place to eat. If you are asking which grilled pork is better, the answer is that they are different, however for pork I seem to more recently be going back to Kansas more often. Overall this place is a good fast and everyday place to eat with good prices and good food. The best bang for your authentic Asian buck place in town. Plus unlike Kansas they accept credit cards almost my only form of payment in restaurants. read more

Evidently they changed ownership as workers are not the same. The food is absolutely awful. The pho and other soups are not the same. Cabbage rolls no longer made the same way and are stuffed with rubbery noodles. Overpaid for order that was completely wrong. I wouldn't even want my worst enemy to eat here. Food seems to be very authentic as they come, delicious!. However, parking lot is limited, most employees are friendly except for one I encountered during lunch time. Stay away from her, a dragon lady (light skin, in 30s). The best Vietnamese food I have eaten,so far, and I have been in many of them in different places ( I was in the service for 20 years). Been coming here for the pho plates but with todays visit think i wont be coming back i got a number 17 was enjoying my meal when i spotted something in my plate it was a small roach could fool u for the chili peppers they add on them told them they offer to give me another plate but honestly if it was im my previous plate why would you offer another one ?? I come here probably once a week, and I really like the Pho there. The broth is really good, and they have the chili that is mixed in the that oil. Loud, but I don't mind. I like the customer service, they give you your food and let you eat. They are most likely not from this country and don't know the American cultures. So everyone expects the "kiss ass" customer service. I don't mind it, I go there to eat and have a nice convo with my friends. Can't always expect too much from a place like that. read more
