    Pho special combo

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A neat little mom and pop pho restaurant located in the neighborhood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is simple with everything on one page. We each ordered their Pho Special combo and split a pork banh mi. The banh mi was tasty as the bread was nicely toasted. The pho had a clean taste to it and was enjoyable, especially when it's cold and wet outside.

This place is everything I need from a Pho place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It had plenty of seating and the staff quickly brought menus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We knew what we wanted and ordered right away. It was nothing special, but the broth was solid and the meat was plentiful. The spring rolls were good, but I would try something else next time. Overall, the perfect meal anytime of day. Iced coffee was pretty good.

Officially my favorite pho in Portland - get the brisket and add all the spices, you will not be disappointed!! Service is fast and friendly as well.

Very consistent and tasty spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like to get a bowl of pho and watch videos on my phone at the bar top so you can watch cars go by too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Service - quick with the menu and water. Atmosphere - casual, clean, music volume is at a comfortable level. Menu - Typical Vietnamese fare. Food - The fresh veggies that comes with pho looks colorful and fresh. The special pho was perfect. The steak should be still bloody, letting the hot broth cook it at the table the brisket and meatballs cooked perfectly. The broth is perfectly balanced in taste. I have to say they made a perfect bowl of Pho. In addition. The portion of meat and noodle seems more generous than others. Parking - street parking Price - It seems like the typical rate as any typical pho establishment. I'm glad I stopped in here. I would definitely come back to try their other items. The pho is .

SO GOOD. My go-to is Chicken Pho, Pho Ga, and I've tried a lot of it all around the West Coast. It's hard to find the good stuff since Beef is traditional. This place IS IT, the flavorful broth, the tender chicken, the aroma, the size of the bowl. I knew from the first sip that I was in a good spot. Also -- I made a big mistake and didn't try the chili oil before I added the whole small container to my bowl. I like hot but it was too hot for me, so I went to order a Thai Tea or anything creamy, but they didn't have any creamy drinks, so I explained my mistake and asked to order extra broth, and the kind server said she understood and would give me some broth free of charge. Even though the situation was my mistake! They deserve all the business for the flavor alone, but that service was super kind. 10/10 experience, I was blessed by the pho gods today.

I am so happy this fine Vietnamese restaurant just opened in my neighborhood. My hopes for it to be good when I noticed I was the only non-Asian face in the place became a bit high, and Pho Bar 405 did not disappoint. They've chosen to focus on a smaller menu, giving their creative and adept chef the opportunity to focus on quality rather than quantity. I ordered Pho Ga because that is the standard by which I judge a pho house. It was delicious. The broth, rich, not overburdened with salt, was an aromatic delight. The nuances of all of the spices which, balanced, make for a memorable soup, were there. I sat, inhaling the broth for several seconds, letting it steep me in its healing aura. The chicken turned out to be tender, not dried out and rubbery the way some other places serve it. There were also generous pieces of it laying among the rice noodles and lovely spread of onion, parsley, cilantro, and after I added bean sprouts and basil, them, too. That broth was so delicious I took what was left in my bowl after I'd eaten my fill, home. Just too good to let go to waste. Service was excellent. My server, Ken, was professional, discreet, charming. And the smiling young woman I observed keeping up with a couple of groups, appeared to be equally skilled. They've redone the interior of this former sad sushi bar to create a stylish, soothing environment which includes a unique mural of Portland's train depot painted by a Vietnamese artist Ken unfortunately didn't know the name of. Next time I come I'll try other things on the menu. Everyone around me was eating happily so I trust I will, too. Plus, I'm bringing friends. It's a great space for groups.

    Crispy Spring Roll (4 Rolls)

A very nice dining experience. This was our second visit to Pho Bar 405. For our first in the fall of '23 when we were visiting Portland, we each had different pho which while the noodles, meat, and soup were very good, was just too much soup for us. The restaurant is now 'local' to us having moved here a few months ago and for dinner last night we shared three dishes; Crispy Spring Rolls appetizer, Yakisoba Combination, and Fried Rice Combination. All of the dishes were served hot, nicely seasoned, and very tasty. The atmosphere is casual and simple, and most importantly noticeably very clean. The service was very good and attentive. Portions are generous and pricing is reasonable for the products. We look forward to dining here regularly.

Absolutely delicious food we got a chicken pho and strawberry lemonade and it was beyond amazing!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and the service was good definitely coming back![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Apparently they can't serve you a pho in house with a half hour left until close. That's not good enough.

The egg noodle bowl on the top with fried chicken and tofu was phenomenal. The chicken was similar to fish sauce wings and the tofu was very caramelized and had a nice salty coating of sauce. The bottom was nem nướng and pork with the woven noodles. It was a very big portion, but the fresh herbs/veggies made it feel balanced. An order of spring rolls were also ordered, but wasn't in the photo. It was ordered with crispy pork belly. Based on some reviews, I was skeptical about ordering the pork belly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The skin was very crispy and you could hear the crunch from across the restaurant. The restaurant is very open with big windows, but I liked the concept of the open kitchen look. The service was really good. We ended up ordering pork belly and shrimp for our spring rolls and the worker politely came by and told us they were out of it. He was able to accommodate for it and was very kind about it. Even though you can order at the table with a QR code, the staff was very attentive.

It's a Vietnamese delicacy you can't find anywhere else in Oregon so I'm glad to have to a Portland restaurant to offer this. They give a plentiful amount of fresh herby veggies combo with fresh hot rice noodles alongside tender flavorful char siu and SUPER CRISPY pork belly! The staff are friendly and the store is extremely aesthetic, the interior has this spin on modern Vietnamese style of decorations. Great interiors that's won't disappoint your date. I absolutely recommend coming here for their niche Vietnamese food!

Downtown Portland's hidden gem for authentic Vietnamese!…read more I was walking around downtown Portland and stumbled upon Cuốn Vietnamese Street Food, and honestly, it was the best meal of my week . If you are looking for fresh, flavorful, and satisfying comfort food, do not walk--run to this spot. To get the full experience, we ordered a variety, and every single item was a hit. We started with the Beef Pho, and the broth was the absolute star. It was rich, aromatic, and deeply savory, clearly simmered for hours. It was the perfect dish on a sunny Portland day. We also grabbed a Chicken Banh Mi. The bread had that perfect crispy crust with a soft, airy crumb, and the chicken was grilled to perfection with fresh veggies and herbs. Of course, we had to wash it all down with a creamy, sweet Thai Tea--it was delicious and the perfect end to the meal. Beyond the food, the vibe is great. It's a super clean, casual spot with big windows letting in lots of natural light. It's set up for quick counter service, which makes it perfect for a fast lunch downtown, but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you feel right at home. It's a family-run business, and you can taste the passion in the food. Highlights: · The Pho Broth: Seriously some of the best in the city. · The Banh Mi: Fresh bread, great fillings. · The Service: Fast, efficient, and incredibly kind. Pro Tip: Don't forget to grab your own utensils and sauces (the chili crisp is a must for the pho), and help yourself to the free self-serve hot tea. It's the little touches like that which make this place a winner. I am already planning my next trip back to try the Crispy Pork Belly. Highly recommend

Positives: fresh, well made, very flavorful proteins. Cons:…read morePrice I tried Cuon for the first time and enjoyed it. I went for a Vermicelli bowl where you get to pick 2 proteins. I selected Pork Belly (their specialty) and lemongrass chicken. The bowl itself is standard Vietnamese fare, nothing special, creative or exciting in that sense. That said, the ingredients tasted fresh and the proteins were very well seasoned and cooked. The pork belly skin had an awesome crunch and you can clearly taste the lemongrass in the chicken. The included spring roll had nice crunch but little flavor. Unfortunately, outside of Pho, Banh Mi and Noodle Bowls, there's sadly not much else to the menu. No Vietnamese salads, stir frys, etc. Either way, what they do make, they seem to make quite well. So, on to my main issue ie, that for a place thats only open for lunch, the prices are a bit too high. I noted about $16 for a Banh Mi sandwich, no sides. Pho was around $20 and my noodle bowl was about $20 as well. Weirdly, its about the same prices as eating lunch back home in Miami, a FAR more expensive city in general. In fact, I've often had more exciting Vietnamese in Manhattan for lower prices. So while its easy to recommend Cuon on quality, its not a top recommendation for lunch value in the PDX which is why Im docking 1 star.
