It was my first time to try Pho Barr. We got: 1. Vermicelli bowl with grilled pork: the pork was tasty. It's golden brown, but very juicy, not dry at all. The seasoning is perfect, maybe a bit sweet like Korean bulgogi, but I personally like it that way. The fish sauce to go with the dish is good to taste, not salty or bland like some other places that I have tried. 2. Ultimate fries with beef: the portion is big to me. I thinm I can have it as a whole lunch for myself. It has fries as carb, beef and sunny side up egg as protein. It was topped with mayo and hot sauce. The fries is crunchy and thin, just like how I prefer for my fries. Beef is seasoned well. 3. Wonton noodle soup: the wonton tastes wonderful like home-made, not like those frozen ones or store-bought. The noodle tastes fresh, not like you boil the dry noodle that can be bought in the market. The broth is delightful. It also came with bok choy which balanced well everything. 4. Bo Luc Lac on hot stone plate: this is the star of the dinner. The portion is huge!!! Filet mignon cubes are well seasoned and super tender. The fried rice is great as well. The plus point is that when the dish came out, everything was still sizzling which made the dish looks as good as it tastes. It is a must-try. We also tried their peach milk tea, lemon black tea, and earl grey milk tea with toppings. To be honest, it was the first time that I tried that great boba milk tea, just like any good boba shop out there, at a restaurant. I genuinely love Pho. I could eat it every day, but it does have to be delicious and flavorful. I do not consider myself a connoisseur, but I do know that it shouldn't taste like this. Pho Barr is a great addition to the Clear Lake lunch scene. A new restaurant in the former 'FBQ', Pho Barr specializes in Bahn Mi and Pho (duh). The server was beyond helpful and made menu recommendations for us. I got the beef pho which came with *very* tender slices of beef and meatballs. The broth was rich and flavorful, and not overly salty. The portion was large and i didn't feel like there was any skimping on bean sprouts or basil. Service was prompt and friendly! I was sad to see FBQ leave, but turns out that their replacement, Pho Barr, is pretty dang good too. The restaurant is clean and a little more modern looking than other Vietnamese restaurants. We came for lunch on a Saturday, and every table was full once we were seated, plus multiple people walking in to pickup their to go orders. The menu is relatively simple, 1 page for food and 1 page for drinks, but I think it's a good thing so that they can focus on quality not quantity. Between our table of 3, we tried their mama special egg rolls, grilled pork spring rolls, grilled pork banh mi, pho bo, matcha green milk tea with tapioca, and vietnamese coffee with added cheese foam. The egg rolls have different kind of wrapper, but it makes them extra crispy yet light. The grilled pork spring rolls come with a great peanut sauce, but I wish they added a little cilantro, carrot/cucumber wrapped into the spring roll as it was only noodles and meat inside. The banh mi and pho are both solid, I would come back again for these for sure, I just think their entrees are a little expensive compared to other banh mi/pho places. And the drinks are great as well! The vietnamese coffee is strong like I like it, the tapioca is the right consistency, and the fact that they offer cheese foam is a HUGE PLUS! (Trust me and just try cheese foam on your milk tea if you've never had it before). Having only been open for less than a month now, Pho Barr is already doing a lot of things right! As long as they keep up the consistency, they are a great Vietnamese addition to the Webster/Clear Lake area. I'll definitely be back again soon. Pro tip: I've heard from the owner that Pho "Barr" is the name because they'll be getting their alcohol license soon. I'm definitely curious as to what alcoholic drinks they will be offering soon. read more

I saw photos of drinks so I assumed it would be that size but nope, I got like a half size than your usual boba drink and it cost $4.5 yikes. I liked the drink itself, the boba is cooked alright but nothing special about the taste. Not worth what I spent though. Place is like what you expect most "hip" restaurants to look like.
