The first time I came here was when my Chinese friend suggested me about this place. .I have been here numerous times since then and I can say I am a big fan of Vietnamese food now. You go in and seat yourself. The waitress is friendly and they ask for your order almost immediately. My most favorite dish is the Spicy beef pho(10.5$). Of course, if you go to a restaurant named Pho BC, it is only logical to order Pho dishes. haha. The spicy beef pho is indeed spicy (like a 3.5/5) and it will be a spicy delight for people who can handle spicy dishes. You can also ask for customization of noodles and they allow that. I asked for the thin rice noodle thing in the beef pho instead of the actual one and they were happy to do that. It's a good place and not bad to go once in a while. read more

I sometimes get stuck in a rut of going to the same restaurants & so I was excited to try Vietnamese cuisine for the first time at Pho BC this past weekend! The restaurant is in the strip on Lowry Lane, next to a boxing gym. One thing I noticed when walking in was that there is a little table with magazines- like you'd see in a waiting room. Maybe this is for people eating alone on their lunch break? PBC is a seat-yourself place. Our waitress came by right away to take our drink orders. I read a few yelp reviews before placing my order and decided to go with the E1 veggie option. The "E" on the menu means the dish has egg noodles, the "R" means it has rice noodles. Our food did not take long to come & was piping hot. The noodles & veggies were good- if not a little on the greasy side. I like a little heat, & added some sriracha sauce that was on the table. I think next time I go, I'd like to try one of the soup dishes listed! read more

Pho BC is exactly what I want it to be. Very fast service. Small tidy restaurant. No frills. Good food. The first time I was here, I had their vegetarian pho. Pho isn't my favorite Vietnamese food, but I figured why not start out with this classic. Flavors were good. Came with all the standard extras to put on top. Pretty good stuff. This time I had the rice vermicelli bowl with shrimp. This is my favorite Vietnamese dish. What stood out for me was some of the pickled vegetables on top of the bowl. Those were a really nice touch. The shrimp were less seasoned than I like. My favorite style shrimp is seasoned/grilled, but these had a sauce coating. Still pretty good. The service here is extraordinarily fast. I sat right down both times and was served within about 5-7 minutes after I ordered. Overall good food at a decent price... you can count on me continuing to come back. read more

I've had a lot of pho, and Pho BC is the best in Lexington pho sure. I like my pho traditional with beef tendon, tripe, brisket, flank and tendon, so I always get P7, P8, or P9, large. If it's a day to treat myself, I'd get some fresh rolls to share as well. My mouth is watering thinking about that peanut dip. Yum. PRO TIP: add a few slices of jalapeños and bury the bean sprouts and basil at the bottom of the noodles so they cook in the broth as you're consuming the dish. Ask for a separate small plate, squirt some hoisin sauce and sriracha to dip the beef briskets/meat of your choice, so you can still preserve the original flavor of broth in the bowl as you slurp away. NOTE: there are non-red meat as well as vegetarian options. Service is always on point. No fuss no muss. You leave with a happy belly and just the slightest dent in your wallet. Perfect for a rainy/snowy/chilly (essentially any) day. read more

Ambience: if you've ever been inside a Vietnamese restaurant, this looks like the rest of them. If you haven't, imagine, a few tables, kind of close proximities and dim lighting. Not exactly romantic, but homie feeling (asian home feeling) Taste: I can not say enough good things about Pho BC. I've been to a few others in Lexington and we're pretty disappointed, but the pho here has been consistently delicious. Not sweet (no MSG), true flavor and not fatty. The "spicy pho" is properly named, it's very similar to Bun Bo Hue but not quite exact in flavor but very very good! I've had pretty much half their menu and can't say anything bad regarding flavor, it's as close as you're going to get to home Vietnamese cooking. Eat everything, they won't disappoint. Service: I've only ate inside the restaurant twice, but the service are young and they are always nice. They may be short staff sometimes but they are always polite about it! Overall Experience: I can't even them any less than 5 star rating because the food is just so delicious. Maybe some thing to consider so you don't leave disappointed is: the Vietnamese pancakes are great, but they do have little meat and shrimp in it. read more

This is my go-to place for pho in Lexington. Either if you had few drinks the night before and in need of hangover food or rain is putting you in the mood for some pho this is the place to go. If you are feeling extra hungry go for the large sized pho. I personally would never be able to finish that but it's nice to have options. I would say their pho is more savory or saltier than the other places I've tried. It's a steady taste that make you think of it from time to time. Pho is good! Try their bubble tea as well. Lexington, Kentucky, you have great pho! What a pleasant surprise! I walked in and it appeared to be a typical pho restaurant until I saw the menu. No Vietnamese on it. There was a little bit here and there, but the majority was in English. First time I've seen seen one like that. The girl that helped us was young and not Vietnamese. I told her what I wanted in Vietnamese and she knew so she's heard the lingo before. The spring rolls came out. Good balance of ingredients and the sauce had a spicy kick to it. I like. The pho came out and it was delicious! The broth was very authentic and just all around yummy! My husband agreed. Their portions are great. Not too small like other places. I use to eat here a lot when I was in college! I came in while I was in town for a late dinner to go and I remember why I missed this place. The broth is delicious and will make you feel so great eating it. However, dining in is such a better experience! As soon as the weather turns cool, or the Kentucky winter rains begin, Pho BC is the first place we go, and their spicy beef pho is our go-to delight. We love everything about this place: the atmosphere, the staff, the menu variety, and especially the flavor of all their dishes. We always leave satisfied, thankful that we came, every single time. Tonight was the first time we ordered carryout from here, and I am writing this review with a belly full of pho, extremely satisfied with the amazing portion sizes, and the irresistible flavor of the spicy beef pho. I have to literally make myself slow down eating it, or I'll be so stuffed I would have to lay down. Incredible flavor, so much meat, and perfectly cooked noodles. Pho BC is one of my favorite places in Lexington to go on a cold, rainy or winter night. A bowl of their steak pho will warm your insides and satisfy your belly. I'm not a very adventurous eater so I've never tried any of the more unique meat offerings - but if tripe is your thing you can get that. My husband gets the large size but I often have trouble finishing the small, it is a big portion. I have done both dine-in and take out. While the inside of the restaurant is small and no frills, the service is always quick and friendly. This was an isolated incident, but the owner needs to know for future handling. A customer who ordered a take out had disagreements over his order and or the bill. Two waitresses explained/argued w him very loudly. This went on for several minutes. Another lady from the kitchen came out to try to settle the matter. This is the real deal. The food is authentic and amazing! Owner is a wonderful person and does a lot of the cooking. Wonderful vegetable (vegan--just ask) Pho! Veggies are SO fresh, and we love the fresh basil, jalapeños, and lime wedges that are served with each Pho order! You can get the Vietnamese pancakes vegan (just ask without fish sauce). Served with a lot of fresh cilantro! Owner makes an amazing vegan sauce to substitute for the fish sauce. LOVE, love, love this place! We are so lucky in Lexington to have it! read more
