Finally a Pho place has come to the Southtowns! Their food is delicious, you get a large quantity and it's inexpensive. My go to dish is the Pho Tai Chin (#21) which is the beef broth with rare beef and well-done brisket..you get such a large quantity for under $10. It's almost like 2 meals in 1. For those who aren't adventurous to try the actual Pho 'soup' they have many options such as veggie stir fries with chicken, beef or shrimp. I highly recommend this restaurant and now that they are part of Grub Hub delivery I will probably be eating there a lot more than my wallet can handle. read more

A hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant in Elma with a few Thai and Chinese options on the menu. We always get the extra large special pho, which has a variety of meat items in it. We've also gotten the spring rolls here which are served with a yummy peanut sauce. The pho is tasty but not the best we've had. It's a great local option for Elma though. Don't let the "off the beaten path" less than stellar aesthetics of this place fool you. Although I think it needs a bit of an update inside and out, as well as some better lighting, if you're looking for your new favorite pho place, pho cali should certainly be on your list of restaurants to try. The menu is pretty expansive, with tons of different options so it may take a while even for the seasoned pho vet to look through and decide. When we got our food, it came in massive sized portions. Mountains of noodles topped with all the delicious fixings to go with it. Enough to feed even two people, so don't be afraid to get a to go container. The food prices, proportions, and quality were fantastic. The menu is almost identical to that of the Pho Dollar on the westide in Buffalo. They will substitute tofu for the meat in any of entrees, which is a big plus for me. They do not offer different levels of "heat" to their meals but they have a variety of chili sauces at your tables to add heat as you like. The flat noodles, spring rolls, and lemongrass dishes were great. The location is rundown and the server was inexperienced, in their first month, but eager to please. These are the only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars. But I enjoyed it enough on Tuesday that I came back again that Friday. I am very happy for the addition to the neighborhood! read more

My wife and I were excited to have pho nearby, but this new spot missed the mark. The food was just OK. The Pho vegetable plate was not very fresh or clean. The peppers seemed old. My wife's pho noodles had consistency of old spaghetti, not newly made rice noodles. Her pho meat was very fatty. Should be thin sliced raw meat. This was well done fatty meat. Mine, too. The sausage in my wife's pho looked like spoiled bologna or cat food. Inedible for her. They also skimp on the meat. The broth was decent. The decor is terrible. They spray painted the ceiling tiles black and nailed on the walls some typical Japanese decor. Placed seemed dirty. Dead fish in one of the fish bowls that another fish was sucking the grime of off - not something you want to see while dining. I will give it one more shot but they need to up the experience here with higher quality products and produce. Especially the meats. read more

So first, the good. This is a quaint little place . It has about 8 four setting tables. The menu is big and has a lot of great options. We had a party of 5 so we got to order a wide variety from the menu. When the food came out it all had a beautiful presentation and was all delicious. On the downside the items came out very staggered which I can only imagine if from working from a very small kitchen which is totally understandable. The only thing that really needs work is the drink and follow up service. The drinks were not refilled and when asked for a refill we had to ask twice, not good when you have 2 other tables in the whole place but it's an easy fix. I would definitely go back because there's still a lot to experience on the menu. read more

The amount of joy I experienced when I discovered a Vietnamese restaurant had opened near me was on a level unknown to science. The restaurant inside is just thrown together. It's nothing to write home about. Casual to the extreme and I would recommend you just get take out. However, the food. Oh my god the food. I usually don't try new places until they at least have a year under their belt, but I'm a sucker for Pho and found this place on Yelp. Come to find out they are only 1 month old! So I look past the "growing pains." That said I rely think their Pho is mediocre. The broth had good flavor, but the noodle was lackluster, maybe even stale. The basil and sprouts were not as fresh as they could be. A big no no in my book. I order rare beef and tendon (my usual at any Vietnamese restaurant). The beef was ok and somewhat plentiful, but the tendon was scarce and puny. I'll give this place another year and try again to see how the come along. Fast and friendly service when I dined in and ordered takeout. Their main rice dishes and vermicelli noodle dishes are up to par with other Vietnamese restaurants I am used to in my hometown (Minneapolis) with a large asian population. Would recommend the shaking beef rice dish (I think it's com bo luc lac) or vermicelli salad with grilled pork. If you're here to get your pho fix you might be a little disappointed. Authentic tasting Asian cuisine. I have no experience with real Vietnamese Pho, but I have traveled to Japan and Thailand and feel that the ingredients are fresh and on point. Unassuming modest restaurant with amazing fresh food. Enjoyable meal on a Friday night with several other tables filled and a brisk takeout business. This seem to be a nice family owned vietnamese restaurant and the older gentleman with the tattoos seem to be passionate and engaging in the customers. I want to "love" this place, but I have to be honest, the exterior of the restaurant itself is reminiscent of a BBQ restaurant. Right down to the flames in the Pho Cali logo. The food itself is decent.The broth is a little thicker than what I'm used to, and the noodles weren't as snappy as I'm used to. But the beef portions are satisfactory.
