I eat here often and also do takeout and have always had a good meal. My favorites Are Vietnamese pancake, summer rolls, and Pho Cong Ly crispy rolls: Tonight was game 2 of the World Series, and I suggested they put the game on and the very cool lady did so. Awesome customer service! I was going to suggest they advertise some specials and watch parties to bring people in for the next few games...but I walked out and forgot to mention it. The pho here is very tasty and delicious but had a horrible experience with the server. Her name is Vick - She started off my taking our order for lunch. First of all, the food came out really late (took 20 minutes for our order to arrive...) Summer rolls didn't even arrive before the meal. We had to remind them of the summer rolls TWICE. Then she made mistakes on all of our orders and instructions (i.e. no onions, noodle subsitutions, no summer rolls until we had to keep asking for it). So we had to ask them to take the food back to get it corrected. But the 2nd time it came out, they still made a mistake on the instructions but my coworker and I just gave up and just ate it. Vick never apologized to us either.. We had already wasted 40 minutes of our lunch break.... Finally, when we went up the register to pay for our meal I asked for the manager to explain what happened but Lynn was not there. So, I kindly spoke to our server Vick about our experience and before I could even finish my sentence she says, "you can go ahead." Go ahead and what? So I asked, "what do you mean go ahead?" She says, "You can go ahead and tell my manager, it doesn't matter." At this point, I am furious at how rude this lady is. But, I continue to speak to her and she keeps cutting me off by saying "go ahead go ahead.." I told her that it's okay to make mistakes but just for future customers just try to atleast say "sorry." Even till the end of all this, Vick had failed to apologize. She kept looking away as I was speaking, so we just left. NOTE FOR VICK : Here's my final advice for you Vick, if you can't memorize your customer's orders - invest in a notepad and pen to write it down. It's alright to make mistakes, but in life you need to learn how to say "SORRY" girl. You clearly have some personal issues in life but don't bring that to your job. We are PAYING customers at a restaurant and you are bringing the restaurant owner's business down. You need to stop being selfish and learn to serve properly no matter where you work. Pho and only Pho. I've been to a lot of Viet places with "Pho" in the name. Typically they concentrate on Pho but have the other usual rice and vermicelli dishes. NOT HERE. When they say Pho, they mean ONLY Pho. Okay, so I exaggerate a little. They also have spring rolls. That's it !!! I kept flipping the laminated 2 page menu over and over to see if I had missed something. As to the food, to their credit, the springs rolls were BIG and delicious. As for the Pho. It was fine. I've had better and worse. The only really bad part was the tendon. The menu has it as soft but it was very hard. Almost raw like. Not appealing. Service and decor is what you would expect in a "fast food" Vietnamese joint. Overall, decent Pho but much better spring rolls. Hii I am very applaud on the way, this place and management treats their employees. After my experience there, I've never seen any manager / employees (kitchen staff) in my life say racist comments to their own employees . The worse part of it was that they spoke racist comments in Vietnamese , which I understand and called their employee whos just almost in their 20s the "B***" word and racist comments about their culture In Vietnamese!!. After my experience here I personally gave this waitress a generous tip on the Down low after I witness the way the nice waitress was " degraded" and "demoralized " by her manager. I been here 3 times. The first time I was here I tried their pho which was ok. I've had better. The second time I was here I tried their pork chop platter. Which was pretty good! Then for my third time which was last night I ordered their beef stew which was perfect! It was soooo good. We have ordered the pho Tai, Claypot Lemon chicken, Buddha's delight, and chicken and spring roll over vermicelli whenever we come here or take out. Everything is fast, fresh, and delicious. Did this place just change ownership/management? It seemed that way the moment we walked in. Waitress threw (yes, threw) 2 menus on the tables and walked off. I came in to eat here today with my kids and ordered bun mang vit, a small pho with meatballs, and a kids pho with meatballs. The bun mang vit was pretty decent but the ginger fish sauce that goes with the duck salad needed more lime. The pho was a different story, it had no pho aroma and it tasted bland. You can't taste the rich beef flavor. So disappointing. They also didn't give us the dish of herbs for the pho, probably assuming my kids don't eat greens and last but not least they never gave us refills but kept staring at us eat lol read more

The person who answered the phone was mostly unintelligible and in the end they got my order terribly wrong and I ended up having to pay for 4 times as much food as I actually meant to order. Please have someone who answers the phone be at least somewhat articulate and be able to understand what a customer is saying, or perhaps don't take phone orders? (maybe online only would be better?). Normally I hate mentioning something like this, but I feel like this was a bit extreme in the difficulty of communication to the point where it really isn't fair to the person answering, or the customer. I called to order a pork banh mi sandwich but the person who answered the phone I could barely understand them. After some confusion and constantly repeating myself over and over I thought I got to order a pork banh mi sandwich. The connection was perfectly clear but the guy himself I could barely understand and I'm not clear how well he understood what I was saying. Turns out the guy thought I said FOUR pork banh mi sandwiches. If I could ever understand him I would've been able to easily say, "oh no sorry, I don't want four, i just want one PORK banh mi sandwich". In the end after debating I did end up paying for all four sandwiches but have to say I'm pretty irritated. This could easily be solved by either not taking phone orders, or at least have the person who answers the phone be able to understand the customer speaking in english well and be able to respond in a way that can be easily understood. If I could I would give less than a star. I walk in with dinner in my mind and ask if I should just seat myself and received attitude from the lady at the cashier. She doesn't hand me a menu but rather shoves it in my direction. I over looked this and take my seat at a table. Three other tables were occupied after I sat down and little miss cashier heads out to the dinning area and takes their orders and bolts straight back to her station. She did this two other times and not once came to my table to take my order, let alone bring me a cup of water. I sat there a good 15 minutes. Disgusted, I get up from my chair ready to leave and decide to glance back in her direction and she was looking at me, eager for me to leave. As I walked toward the door I turn back as she pulled another from the kitchen to observe me leaving the front door. I live in the neighborhood and gave this place a shot with hopes to have a local place to enjoy my bowl of pho, but its apparent they have issues with treating all folks with respect. My family and I have been going to this place for years and we always brace ourselves for the bad customer service because the food was pretty good. However last couple times I have been there their "well known" spring rolls have not been cooked thoroughly and the wrong food was also sent out. When I said something about it the waiter tried to convince me that it was the same thing. Even though I have ordered it multiple times before. I was going to complain but there were two other people complaining. I had to head out so I didn't have time to wait around. We will not be going back, there have been too many misses from this place. Clearly management doesn't care to hire good waiters or spend the time to properly train them. Back in my younger days, Pho Cong Ly was my favorite pho place when it was in the same shopping center as Outback Steakhouse. When it closed down, younger me was sad. Yes. Much sad. It's nice to know that Pho Cong Ly hasn't lost their touch. It seems they have more variety to their menu from what I can remember (which was YEARS ago though). Their Ca Thang Long is very commendable. Their Bun Cha Hanoi is also pretty good. I ordered the Pho Ga (chicken pho) and even had the choice of what kind of meat I wanted. Obviously I picked the thigh/dark meat since i just can't stand the dryness of white meat. That already lightened up my mood since dry meats tend to put me in a bad mood. read more

I was really happy when this place opened, I used to live very close to this Pho joint and would go here about once every two weeks. I think they have decent Pho and some good specialties like their Spicy Hue Pho, which I would often get. Their broth is a little inconsistent, though, and would be thin one day and just right another day. I also noticed that the noodles were sometimes undercooked and too firm, still in their "brick" shape. When the Pho was good, it was very rich and delicious, with just the right amount of flavor and additions. The service here is like many Asian lunch restaurants, where they don't attend to your table very often and sort of expect you to go up to the register to pay. I haven't been to SE Asia, but I have a hunch that this is the style of service that they have for many of these types of restaurants. It's good enough when you're ordering, though. Overall, this place was great for when I lived closer, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to get a bowl of Pho here. read more

I decide to try Pho here because of the positive reviews. People in Springfield/Annandale apparently don't know Pho. I was ok but, just ok. The broth was weak and lacked a depth of flavor. The condiments were nice though and abundant. Also, the meat and noodles were very good & well cooked but, Pho is all about the broth isn't it? The wait staff was attentive and very pleasant. If you need a quick fix & are in the area, it's a great place to go. But, if you are looking for Pho to fix you soul, look elsewhere. I'm a fan. There are several great things you'll enjoy at this pho joint.. First, really delicious broth. Totally great for warming up on a cold day, or just to satisfy your soup craving. I say 2.5 stars is a balance of 4 stars for food and 1 stars for service. The pho is good. The egg rolls are great. The rice dices and sour fish soup are pretty good too. Some of the other soups, bun bo hue and conch soup, are ok. The service though is horrible. I order the exact same bowl of pho everytime i go which was once to twice a week (the wife is the one that tries the other dishes) but yet they get my order wrong 9 out of 10 times. At that point i might as well say give me pho and let them surprise me. Come on man, the food waste cost must be outrageous unless they are just picking things out and swapping it but considering how long i wait for the correct order, i doubt that. They have written all over their menu how things are gluten free then they add meatballs to the broth so the workers with REAL allergies will go home sick if they eat it, then the manager pretends the manager isn't there and won't refund or give credit. read more

Came here on whim. My brother tried pho for the first time here and he liked it. I tried a bahn mi sandwich with stir fry meat. And it was very tasty. I was glad to finally try one. I added a little Siracha like the ad said and it did a nice kick of flavor for it. I love Korean food. It was nice here. Service wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Once they came and got our order we didn't see them anymore I actually had to stand up like I was going to walk out for them to go print out the bill. Lol. They didn't want me to walk out on the bill lol it was a nice cheap meal. 3 people and light lunch for around 25$. I walked into Pho Cong today at about lunch time. Me and my girlfriend were barely greeted by anyone. The restaurant was not busy at the time and the customers already here had their food. The employees there went behind the register for about 10 minutes and did no attempt to see if me and girlfriend were ready to order. I had to seek the attention of a waiter to give our order. The customer service here was horrible. And the food was average at best. Also, thought it was pretty weird that a sit down establishment served sprite by can. I like this place a lot. Their pho' is good; I normally get the chicken and it's nice, big pieces of white meat that you can identify. The broth is flavorful and they give you a lot of condiments. They were one of the first places I knew of to go back to limes during the Great Lime Drought of 2014. Their deep fried spring rolls are also tasty. As of writing, they do a Monday and Thursday special which involves a regular bowl of pho', fried spring roll, and a can of soda for under $10. The place is always pretty clean. The only downside is that service is a little hit and miss, regardless of how busy they are. Sometimes, it's fantastic and other times it's a little lacking. read more

I love the bun oc and the spring rolls here. The spring rolls are super crispy similar to Huong Viet's but you don't have to hassle with Eden parking. I tested out the bun oc and I liked it a lot. You just have to season to your taste. They are pretty generous with the oc, too. The mi xao/pan fried egg noodles is kind of like the Cantonese style except with the Vietnamese sauce. Added benefit. The location of the restaurant is great and convenient. But I believe that when they wash the chopsticks and utensils in the kitchen they wipe with black napkin. I've had good experience with their food, (the pho' here is pretty good...) but their customer service is a bit lacking. I order from them for my office for lunch. Their delivery fee and order minimum changes according to the person you speak to. Plus they charge an additional "box carry out" charge for each order? I'd never heard of that in addition to the delivery fee before. Today specifically the delivery guy came, but didn't bring any change with him so we had to rally around the office for change for a $20 bill. I still enjoy their food here, but I will be looking for another place to order food from for office delivered lunches. read more

I also appreciate how they pack the meat according to how you want it which in my case is raw as I don't like it over cooked. I've ordered from here quite a few times and it has always been good. Service was NOT great. when my husband went up to the register the guy said "you're not tipping... what was wrong with the service?" My husband said "the service wasn't great." Then the guy responded "we work on tips.." This is very unprofessional. First off, you never came to check on our table. Second, never gave us water until 5 min before our food came out. The bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) is the best here! I've had it at other restaurants and none compare to Pho Cony Ly's. I also enjoy their appetizers, the crispy spring roll, summer roll and shrimp cake are really good as well as their smoothies. Restaurant (and restroom facilities) are always clean and the atmosphere is quiet and laid back. This review is only based on take out: My boyfriend is sick and we needed the convenience of delivery. Pho cong ly is around the corner so we decided to give it a try. Their menu is actually pretty pleasant, good selection of Vietnamese dishes. We got the conch soup, grilled steak banh mi, and summer rolls. Used the yelp app, which is hella helpful, and it only took 30 min to arrive. On arrival, the soup is deconstructed so that everything isn't soggy, sand which wrapped up, and on sep bag, and rolls Saran wrapped. The summer rolls compared to a lot of other places near by were on the smaller size, but it was beautifully wrapped, and the peanut sauce was good. Soup is light tomato broth, everything was nice and crisp and it was pretty good. The banh mi I honestly hate to say this, but was actually really tasty. The flavor in there was really good, but the bread was on the softer side to the point where juice was constantly dropping down my arm. I usually avoid this place because there are so many other good options for viet food (present, banh mi D.C., pho hot) but based on what I had it was a good meal. I'd try it out again. read more
