The tastes are miles above other broths. So yummy! The staff is friendly and fast. Super busy so get there before 11:45 am or after 1 pm to avoid the long line. But that just shows how good it is!! The fresh spring rolls with the "crispy" rice paper inside that is supposed to be crunchy, but it was basically soggy and not crunch at all. The "fresh" spring rolls were pre-made and wrapped in plastic wrap. And the pho...my goodness. I've never had such bad, salty, broth, with over cooked noodles, two thick slices that should have been thinly sliced, and pieces of one meatball that were so salty and disgustingly falling apart. Finally going to write a review for Pho Cyclo. I go there all the time for lunch and I love it. I went today, in fact! I have only tried three things: the fresh spring rolls with tofu; the banh mi sandwich with tofu; and the bun tofu etc (warm noodle salad with spicy fried tofu). The space is small, but it has plentiful seating. It's usually pretty busy between 11 AM and 12:30 PM, but they make the food in kind of an assembly line style, so you get it fast. So fast! The food is really well-priced for downtown Bellevue, and for how much you get. Most of the workers are really nice - not chatty, but friendly enough, and if you order in they will bring you your meal with a smile. The fresh spring rolls are under $4 and they are really big, and packed with noodles, veggies, and the meat of your choice. They come with peanut sauce. I often get the spring rolls all on their own for lunch. I've ordered this again and again because it's just so good. I've only had the banh mi once because I wasn't super impressed with it, but it's serviceable and under $6. A bit spicy! There's lots more baguette than ingredients, unfortunately. Today I tried the bun tofu noodle salad for the first time. I paid $9.30 with tax and tip, and I was given enough food (for a somewhat petite young woman) for two lunches. I saved half for tomorrow. The menu says that the tofu is spicy, but I'm a huge spice wuss and I only noticed a little bit of spice - be not afraid. (There are lots of sauces available if you love spicy things and need yours hotter.) The bowl was just stuffed with noodles. It was generously bedecked with perfectly fried tofu strips. I have to be honest, this is probably the worst Vietnamese food I've ever had in my life. I came here because I work in the building above, so it's incredibly convenient. The line can be a little crazy during lunch, and so can finding a place to sit. The pho tastes... off.. and the meat was incredibly chewy, lacked flavor and I actually wasn't even able to finish my plate because I was so displeased. I refuse to come here and I literally work 6 floors above this place. Pho cyclo...I've been a fan of yours for the last 2 years that I've been working in Bellevue. Your service is fast, your rice noodle (bun) is so good and the portions are wonderful! However, today you have gone too far. My shrimp is cooked to the point where it is stuck to the skewer. So overcooked and burnt that I cannot bite into it without filling my mouth with bitterness from the "char". Your meatballs (which is usually my favorite thing!) is cooked to the point that it is crispy and crumbly. Your pork is so tough/dry I thought it was jerky. I can understand that you cook things earlier to account for you super crazy lunch rush...but please do it without overlooking or burning the food. I would really appreciate it. read more

I used to eat at Pho Cyclo Cafe on Broadway when I lived on First Hill, so I'm really glad they opened in Bellevue. They don't validate parking, so I'll find street parking and walk if i have to. The broth is good, the bun (noodle bowl) is large and plentiful, and the fresh rolls are yummy! I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but maybe I'll grab that next time. It's a little hard to find, but they had a sign out front to help with that. The prices for downtown Bellevue are also very good. We ordered a small pho, bun (vermicelli noodle bowl) with pork and eggroll, and fresh roll which came out to about $20. Not bad for a two person lunch in downtown Bellevue where you leave stuffed! Ok, so not the most kid friendly place. Yes, they do have the kiddo's favorites: rice and noodles. BUT, no high chair or booster. I guess the target demographic is more aimed at the folks that work in the nearby office buildings. Won't stop us from having pho. =P Despite having to pin down our toddler, we still enjoyed the food. My friend is vegetarian and they had a great tasting vegetarian broth - which is awesome that they have the option since not all pho places offer it. In addition, I ordered the Pho Tai Nam (pho w/ rare beef & flank) and would definitely order again. I really liked Cyclo's sauce that they served with the pho. It's sweet & spicy & has great flavor - not just the sweet chile out of the jar that most places serve. Oh, and extra points for giving my voracious noodle eating toddler free noodles after he downed mine. I can't tell you how happy it made me that I got to actually EAT some of noodles! I've been here several times for the pho and a couple days ago I returned to try the pork sandwich and I was very pleased. I HIGHLY recommend coming here before or after the lunch rush (so before11:45am or after 1:30pm) since there is very limited seating and I've seen the line go out the door. Pho: Typical pho you can get anywhere else. They don't have as many meat selections, but they have the staple steak/flank combos. I also saw a seafood pho which sounded interesting and something I've never seen on menus before. I like that they bring out individual bean sprouts/basil/limes per person. The pho also comes with a spicy ginger sauce on the side which I really like since it's different from the usual sriracha/brown sauce combos at other pho restaurants. Pork Sandwich: You definitely get more pickled vegetables than you do pork in these sandwiches. For $4, I thought they would be more generous with the meat, but then again, I'm used to the $3 juicy pork sandwiches @ Saigon Deli on The Ave which are definitely unbeatable. The sandwich is still a great snack though when you feel like you can't down a whole bowl of pho. Due to the incredibly convenient location of this place (right across the street from where I work), I see myself coming here at least once a week for lunch! Got their Banh Mi sandwiches, tried the pork, chicken, and beef. All weren't bad, but a little skimpy on the meat, filled mostly with their pickled vegetables. Also there was some Vietnamese spicy sauce in it that was pretty strong. The place was pretty busy during lunch, there was about a dozen people in line. I almost missed this place when I was trying to find it. It's pretty obscure. I don't really have anything negative to say about the place or the service. I went here once and got a small bowl of pho and a chicken banh mi. Rather than make two trips here, I figured I would just knock out both of main two big questions in one trip. Long story short, it was just alright for me. The broth had flavor but it just wasn't a flavor that I cared for. The chicken in the banh mi was over cooked and dry. My coworker had a curry dish and he said it was alright. He didn't rave about it. I will stick to Pho All Day for pho in Bellevue. read more

We just went here for lunch and oh boy, two problems. One is parking. It is more than $6 to part inside the building. We had to drive around for 20min to park near the apartment area on 4th. Two is the MSG. They didn't put a lot but they sure had some. We couldn't feel it when we ate but after awhile, yah, there was MSG. The broth was sweet but there was not a strong sense / smell of Pho like traditional one. This is definitely an Americanized version of Pho. Meat was OK. Portion is fine as well. I work close by and often go by Pho Cyclo cafe to get my banh mi fix. It's a cheap lunch ~$4. I don't think their Pho is that great, it wasn't served at a hot temperature and the broth is lacking in beef flavor. Fresh rolls with shrimp had brown bits of vegetables. Their cleanliness can be questionable. I picked up a water cup and as I proceeded to drink from the cup, I noticed the entire cup was very sticky and hair some sort of fuzz sticking to the entire cup. Seemed like someone poured grease into the cup and didn't bother washing it. I'll come back for the banh mi and get it to go. read more

I had the pho here and I thought the broth was fragrant and flavorful, definitely the "sweetest" broth I ever tasted, in a good way though. You could really taste the spices, a little bit too much star anise but I enjoyed it overall. It looked like they used good quality meat with not a whole lot of fat (I had the steak and flank pho). Now to the bad part: parking!! It looks like this place only targets the people who work in Bellevue, but what about the people who live here? I stopped there on my way home and used the underground parking since there is nowhere else close I could park. Ate here on a lunch break with some co-workers. Service was nice and quick, a good choice for downtown Bellevue workers on their 30 minute lunch break. Their pho only comes in sizes small and large. My friends all got the pho and said that their broth was too heavy on the cinnamon. On top of that, it seemed to be broth heavy with not enough substance inside. I got the grilled pork and eggroll bun. I thought it was pretty good, looked a lot more substantial than my friends' pho bowls. The pork was very tasty, I was surprised. Definitely now my pho place of choice, it's bumped What the Pho off the top dog position for downtown Bellevue. First off - the Banh Mi pork sandwich is FANTASTIC! The meat is super tasty, very tender, and the pickled vegetables in the sandwich give it a great contrasting crunch, and provide just enough acidity to complement the meat. Super good, I mean seriously yummy. I had a typical flank/steak Pho, and the soup is flavorful, the steak is SUPER tender (good quality meat) and the flank had just enough fat for it to work well. The soup comes out super fresh, so be sure to peel apart the meat slices and mix up the noodles so they can cook. No tendon or tripe on the menu though, so if that's your bag (I like the tendon, not a fan of tripe) then you might be out of luck - though you might try asking for it especially, I didn't do that. The only downside is that it's a small place and can get crowded, but don't be discouraged, since a lot of the folks in there are waiting for take-out, so check for open tables before writing it off. read more

In comparison to What The Pho, down the street, this place is awesome! In comparison to other pho places in Seattle, it's really not that great and it's overpriced (Bellevue pricing.) This place gets pretty packed around noon so come early or wait til the rush is over. Though the food is served up quick, seats fill up quick but no biggie cause their food is easily just as good taken to-go. I have found that their pho broth and grilled pork is much more flavorful then What The Pho's. My only gripe (which is why I have knocked some points) is that the pho is pretty overpriced; large pho runs me almost $10 and is filled with mostly soup, seemingly same amount of noodles in a small and a few slices of meat. I wish I could get Chinatown pho in Bellevue =\ I do have to say that their banh mi's are pretty good (grilled pork is my personal fave) and if you "cyclo size" it for $1.50 up get an egg roll and drink! Sandwich on its own will run you $4.50 and that's a great deal for lunch in this area. You can't even get a subway sammy for that anymore! read more
