Spicy Chicken Bibimbap
Jenny L.

Quick lunch spot, chipotle style. I got a salad with spicy chicken and 6 sides. Everything tasted pretty good and fresh and the portion size was very filling. Only downside is the price, nearly 20 dollars for this compared to a chipotle bowl which is cheaper. Not egregious by any means but still something to consider. Overall decent fast casual!

Spicy pork plate

I've passed this place so many times on weekends when it's closed and finally got to try it during the week! The prices look expensive, but I was surprised by the quantity of food I was given! I ordered a plate cuz I wanted to try a lot of stuff without having to make decisions, but the person in front of me ordered a beef bowl and it seemed chipotle style and the bowl was huge(!) and the amount of meat was quite a bit as well. I really like the flavors of all the items, and I especially liked their kimchi and next time I want Korean food during lunch on a weekday I'll be back! (It's taken three? meals to eat my spicy pork which is very delightful for $19)

I have very limited experience of Korean places. However this place really stood out to me. Service was fast. I tried 3 side Salmon and it was delicious. For folks who are interested in some hot sauce, definitely try "make me cry" sauce. It is hot and tangy and I really enjoyed it.

Tofu bowl

This place is difficult to stop by if you don't work in the Bellevue area. They only open during lunch time Monday through Friday. My husband was on vacation so I asked him to stop by hahahaha. Parking is not great as it aim for people taking the bus at the transit center. We ended up getting the tofu bowl (half the protein + 6 sides). For around $15, it was a good portion. The tofu was cooked differently from other places, it was crispy on the outside but sooo fluffy on the inside and the crispy was different too. I really enjoyed it. The sides was definitely fresh and of high quality. For the sides, we got the crab salad, seaweed salad, broccoli, corn, kimchi, and edamame. We also added an egg for an extra $1.5. overall, if I work in the area I would definitely come here more often. The food is good and good price and great portion, but otherwise, it could be a hassle to come.

Beef bowl. Love, @eatoutthao

Haha, love the pun name Bowl Gogi! This is pretty much the Korean Chipotle where you pick your base and go down the assembly line with your choice of protein, toppings, and sauces. You can also add an egg at no extra cost. They many meat options and even tofu for vegetarians! This is more of a lunch time thing since they close kind of early and is only open Monday to Friday, it's located next to the transit center which is convenient for people passing by and working around here. If you drive like me, you can park at the city center garage, I believe it's $6 for an hour of parking, this restaurant is located right outside the entrance of one of the doors once you get upstairs from the garage. It's under $20 for a bowl, portion is pretty big so I say this should last for 2 meals. Restaurant is really clean, I love this concept. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Spicy Pork Lunch Box

Picked up lunch from this place on a weekday. Service was quick. I got the spicy pork lunch box and it was pretty good. I liked how there was a lot of variety in the dishes inside. The volume of food was pretty good too. I think my favorite was the pork since it was well seasoned and tender. I didn't like the kimchi too much but I think they tend to be hit or miss with me since I like to have more pickled kimchi rather than just spicy kimchi. Didn't like the egg too much but I tend not to like egg items so I won't hold it against them. The dumpling and the egg roll didn't stand out but were a good addition to the rest of the food.

This used to be wonderful and very fresh, every side was lovely but now the meat is strangely textured and grey and some side items seem, will bit be returning anymore.

Got a bulgogi bowl here since it was near work and it was really good. It's a bit pricey, but the portions here are no joke. I was really full and I'm a big man. I'd come back again if I'm in the area

Chicken bowl with spicy bibimbap, pickled onions, edamame, cabbage, seaweed, green onion, & bean sprouts
Jillian L.

Fast service & delicious food! I got the chicken bowl with spicy bibimbap, pickled onions, edamame, cabbage, seaweed, green onion, & bean sprouts. The spicy bibimbap sauce is moderate spice (for those of you looking for a scale, I'm not great with spice). You go through the line in order of base, sides, protein, sauce & add ons and you can mix and match anything you want, catering to everyone's tastes. They have an ample selection of choices for each step and the bowl itself is relatively healthy. I like that you can choose to have 3 sides and more protein or 6 sides and half protein. The restaurant itself is cute with indoor and outdoor seating.

Fantastic! That was a great experience. My bride went with the Beef Bibimbop ($11) and absolutely loved the flavors. I built a Spicy Pork Bowl Gogi ($11) with Kimchi, sprouts and cucumber and spicy bibimbop sauce - it was outstanding! It had a good kick to it (I'm glad I didn't select the "Make Me Cry" sauce). The varied menu, the quality and taste of ingredients makes for an awesome lunch spot - and provides something for everyone (meat lover, veggie lover, spicy or not) Our timing was good arriving just before noon. After we sat down the line grew rapidly and was wrapped around the place - but it seemed to move quickly. They are only open Mon-Fri, 11-3. If you don't work nearby, it will be tough to check this place out.

Store sign right by the transit center.

I do enjoy a good bibimbap, and Bowl Gogi has never let me down! The location might be difficult to spot if you're driving around; it's a little bit easier to find if you walk to the location, and MUCH easier to find if you take the bus. Bowl Gogi is right next to the Bellevue Transit center, where the buses pull through. Bowl Gogi is only open from Monday through Friday. So if you work around the area, it's a no-brainer. Unfortunately for me, I meal prep for the week, so haven't been able to visit as often as I'd like. The few times I didn't have food prepared, I got extra excited because that meant I had a legit reason to go to Bowl Gogi. If you're around the area during the work week, I highly recommend Bowl Gogi. I'm hoping I run out of food again during the work week so I can visit Bowl Gogi for some delicious bibimbap!

I love the customization that comes with fast-casual dining, and I LOVE sauces. Bowl Gogi is the perfect mix of the two. Pick your rice and your meat and let your imagination take over. I had bulgogi and spicy pork, with spicy, creamy, savory sauces. I chose kimchi, bean sprouts, and eggs as my toppings. A little bit spendy for lunch, but high quality and a huge portion. A little hard to find, and they don't validate parking, but those are where my gripes soft.

What a great spot for a casual Korean lunch bowl! I checked out Bowl Gogi for a late lunch and was immediately greeted the minute I stepped inside. The staff asked if it was my first time visiting, which I explained was, so they briefly went over the build-your-own-bowl concept and options with me. I was set. I know we can't stop talking about the snow in Seattle, but I was craving something warming since I was so cold from the weather. I saw that they offer curry bowls, so when I asked the employee about it, she offered to give me a sample of the curry, which sold it for me. I chose the spicy pork for my protein with brown rice and chose broccoli, bean sprouts and kimchi for my three complimentary sides (additional sides for a fee). When I went to check out the employee asked if I like spicy foods (since I chose the spicy pork) and recommended that I try their housemade "make me cry" spicy sauce. It was on! Food was yummy! The curry bowl was just what I needed on a chilly day. Curry sauce had a great flavor and added warmth and a heartiness to the meal. Spicy pork was solid. It was tender, yet I wished it had been more marinated in the spicy sauce they used since it added such great flavor. And everything else in the bowl was good. My favorite side was the kimchi, of course! I did like the "make me cry" hot sauce, adding a great kick to my lunch and would recommend for any spicy fans to try it. For first-time visitors they also hand you a stamp card with two stamps, as a way to welcome you. Bowl Gogi is a welcomed addition to Bellevue. We don't have a lot of Korean options in the area and though this just gives you a taste of it, the casual concept where you can customize your own bowl is accommodating and guarantees satisfaction. Just note that Bowl Gogi is only open during the weekdays for lunch. Pay a visit here for a hearty bowl, complimentary tea and the friendliest staff.

These folks probably need another great review like Elon Musk needs an increase in his allowance,…read morebut fairness demands that I not keep silent regarding my enjoyment of this restaurant: THE ROSES: Ample dedicated parking. The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

They also had some really tasty banchan that made the meal even better. It's incredibly busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. For a group of four, I'd recommend getting a Kalbijjim and a cold noodle dish to balance out the meal as the meat flavors do get pretty heavy. The Suyuk was another standout, the meat was tender, and the broth had an incredible depth of flavor. As for the cheese on the Kalbijjim, I'd say it's not necessary unless you specifically want the experience. The dish is already delicious without it. Overall, a really great meal with bold flavors, incredibly tender meat, delicious banchan, and great service. Definitely worth a visit!

My husband ordered the combo tofu soup + protein entree, which he chose beef tofu soup and bulgogi (thinly sliced marinated beef) and it was delicious! We shared the entree since it was pretty large size. The combo also came with side dishes, rice and fried fish. It was nicely grilled, easy to eat with small bones. Ban chan was pretty unlimited with staff constantly walking around to check in and make sure you have enough side dishes to enjoy with your meal. I have to note, the service is incredible! Solid tofu soup, I get it spicy. The meat is usually pretty good too. But I think the short rib is better than bulgogi here. I also didn't see they had chicken cuz it wasn't in their menu but it was on the wall I think. Friends like the bibimbap. Seemed fresh. Their side dishes solid although the serving plate is small. They make up for it with constant checkins for more refills though so that's good. They also give the little fried fish as a side (one though and no free refill) I like it though sometimes I get the one with eggs and I don't like that. But generally fine, could be a bit more fried/hot but again not every place has that.

As visitors from the Bay Area where there are a bunch of Korean restaurants, I can confidently say the food here is far better than your average Bay Area Korean restaurant. Between the four of us, we ordered a 12 half-and-half piece wing set, a seafood pancake, a tofu soup, and a beef bibimbap. Although food takes a long time to come out of the kitchen, the food is worth the wait! The seafood pancake was some of the best seafood pancake that I've had. The pancake had generous amounts of seafood in it and the crispiness could not be beat. Although the bibimbap comes in a large stone pot and is sizzling hot coming out of the kitchen, you unfortunately aren't able to extract any burnt rice from the bottom. Perhaps a little bit more oil is needed to achieve this? Despite this, it's still a really nicely constructed bibimbap bowl with a solid variety of vegetables. The chicken wings are crispy on the exterior and juicy on the interior. The wings are on the larger size, so once you get past the thin layer of crispy skin on the outside, I recommend dipping the wing back into the leftover sauce on the plate for more flavor. Last but not least, the tofu soup had a deep kimchi flavor, and was very mild in terms of spiciness. I thought the rice cakes included in the bowl were cooked perfectly and had a nice bounce to them. Overall, if you're looking for Korean food in this part of town, I don't think Danji Korean Cuisine can be beat.

Bon is located in the same plaza as H-Mart and so they have a shared parking lot or you could walk over from Redmond Town Center which is just a block away. The inside is surprisingly large with at least twenty tables, which is bigger than most Korean restaurants that I've seen on the Eastside. At 11:45am on a Saturday, my group of three had no problem getting a table. Their menu is extensive and has all the Korean food classics including seafood pancake, soondubu (stone pot tofu soup), galbi jjim (beef stew), Toppokki, bibimbap, and cold noodles (spicy and non-spicy versions). Their entrees are around $20 each, but some larger hot pot dishes (meant for 2-3 people) can be up to $70. I ordered the BULGOGI BIBIMBAP (~$24). Unfortunately they don't serve stone pot Bibimbap here, but the portions are large and beautifully presented. My dish came with plenty of fresh vegetables- pickled carrots and cucumbers, sesame bean sprouts, daikon kimchi, lettuce, and marinated black mushrooms (which I've never had in Bibimbap before but was soooo good) on top a bed of fluffy white rice! The egg was cooked perfectly over easy and the meat was marinated well too- I do wish the dish came with more meat though. They give you your typical sweet and spicy gochujang red sauce on the side as well as white vinegar and mustard sauce for added flavor. Service was fantastic and you get complimentary hot tea and ban chan (which are refillable). The ban chan included cucumber kimchi, daikon kimchi, sesame bean sprouts, kimchi, fish cake, and sesame choy. All employees were very friendly and made you feel at home. The inside is clean, but the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is that they have an Okay health rating and not a Good or Excellent health rating.
