I found this place willing to give a new to me Viet place a try. For starters, i wasn't impressed it took about 7 minutes to get anyone to show up to take my order. There was only one other table being served. They do keep their menus at the table so when you arrive you can quickly order, but the hurry-up-so-you-can-wait process seems like a lack of coordination on their part. They have 4 sizes for pho from small to x-large. I was a glutton that day so I ordered the Pho Tai and brisket in the x-large size. It's definitely a lot of pho, more than for one person. I found the pho a little underwhelming in flavor though. I don't usually add condiments like siracha or hoisin sauce initially as to savor the pho for what it is. I love everything about this place! First off, it was a little hard to find, unsure why my GPS was so messed up. It's on front of the Walmart, close to the main highway Farm to Market road, I believe. In a small strip mall looking space. Walking in, the vibe is clean and friendly. The combo rice plate with sausage, grilled egg, fried egg, and shrimp is yummy. The broth that comes with it tastes like their pho broth, which has a darker flavor profile than the usually lighter broth I get at other places. Personally, I would get the rice plate more often than the pho. The tropical tea with fruit jellies (artichoke and pandan tea with jellies) was fun to drink. I love eating a big bowl of Pho on any given day but it is a must on rainy days and I am picky on what the broth comes out to be good or great. I do consider the service so its a very honest review. First off it was a very busy time when I went which is probably because of the weather or it was close to the holidays. I did have people before me and the wait wasnt so bad. The restaurant staff are all Vietnamese and appears to be family owned. They were all friendly so thats a plus. I ordered the Pho Dien which was rare steak, flank, tendon, tripe, and meatballs. The waiting time was about 7 to 8 minutes till I got my order. I usually taste the broth before adding any hoisin sauce or siracha. **Let me just say it was so good that it didn't need any of the condiments. Portions were great and for the price at $11.75 for a Medium bowl. Although it needed more noodles, I do get you can order more but still overall it was a great tasting bowl of Pho! Good service and good food! This location used to be located off Bellaire Blvd in southwest Houston. My friend has wanted me to try this location for a while now, but always missed out because they would close early on some days. The last time we tried we realized they relocated. Well I was coming from the airport and wanted to stop for lunch on my way home. I randomly chose this location after searching Yelp. I was seated next to this couple who informed me this was the new location. I was super excited to know I would finally get a chance to try the original Pho Dien. They did not disappoint AT ALL. I ordered the large Pho Tai. The broth was amazingly delicious. The contents of the pho were flavorful and fresh! The new location is small, but clean and contemporary. The food here really speaks for itself! But here's a little of what to expect at Pho Dien! It's a local family owned restaurant that serves everything from Egg Rolls, Rice Plates, Vermicelli Bowls, Pho, Smoothies, Tea & Coffee! The SPRING ROLLS!!! I refuse to share these when I come here. They aren't your typical spring rolls either. If you're a spring roll lover, One bite out of these and you'll quickly spot the difference between these & all the other spring rolls you've ever tried! They have this amazing peppery taste to them that makes them absolutely one of a kind! I could never come without ordering spring rolls! I've never tried the egg rolls but I'd imagine they are just as good as everything else they serve. Their pho has the best flavor! I like to order the P5 because I'm not a fan of super fatty cuts of meat. All the meat in P5 is fully cooked and delicious! No gummy or fatty pieces at all! Each bowl is prepared with cilantro & green onion already chopped up in the soup (as pictured) so if you don't like either of those in your pho, I'd ask them to leave that out. You're able to add in your own amount of Thai Basil, fresh jalapeños, and bean sprouts. They bring those ingredients on your table on a plate! My bf likes to order the P1, comes with all sorts of meats and only comes in the Large Size. Rice plates are really good too if you're not in the mood for pho! Add an egg - trust me! Drinks! From their Chinatown location, all the way to their Humble location... Same great owner, and same great taste. I remember seeing the owner every single Sunday morning greeting customers, and taking down their names to get a seat. Now that they moved to Humble, it's a lot more calm here than in Chinatown. Also, due to Covid-19, the menus are now printed and taped onto either the walls by the booth, or at the tables. Broth is hearty and delicious just as remembered. The only reason why I took away a star is because of the amount of MSG they add to their pho. My entire family reacted to it, and literally was falling asleep on the way home. When I'm on this side of town and I am craving pho this is the spot that I continue to come back to. I love there rare steak it is the most tender meat I have had in any pho. Also it is seasoned; not just the broth but the actual meat. That is why I continue to come back because I have never had it like that anywhere else. I ordered the Tai Chin it was amazing, the portion was huge for a small bowl that I took the rest to go because I wanted some for later. I heard about Pho Dien opening in Humble about a week ago and I was thrilled since hardly any good restaurants come to this part of town. After working in the area for 2 years now, I see that new restaurants mostly open in Kingwood or Atascosita. Not for long! I was finally able to visit 9 days after their official 1st day of opening. Many of the patrons dining on my first visit were mostly Asian and elderly which was sorta expected. I could tell a few of them probably even drove all the way across town to visit this newest location. According to their website, this location moved from the Kim Son plaza in Chinatown, so it's not technically all new. The employees moved as well. Inside, you will be greeted by one of their many friendly employees. The modern interior is built out very nice and plays traditional (soft) Vietnamese music in the background. I have visited their 2nd location several times before, but this location was far different from what I had experienced there. I took advantage of their great lunch special where you basically receive egg rolls and tea free, compared to their regular menu pricing. Where else can you get the best pho in town, egg rolls and a tea for only $9.95? I ordered my usual (P2), which is all rare beef that they marinate. This is far superior to all the other pho places in Houston area, imo. Not only was the bowl a large, it also contained what seemed to be 1/2 lb of beef! I was fishing out marinated beef for quite a while after I thought I was done with the soup. Their staff was so friendly too. The older gentleman at the front even showed me how to use all the dipping sauces and eat the pho (even though I mostly already knew how.) I was so full after the eggrolls and soup, but I saw they also offered smoothies, so I added a durian smoothie. This was very tasty with the perfect amount of stinkyness and sweetness. I ordered the medium bowl of Pho with rare steak, well done brisket and tendon. The soup was rich and flavorful but I still could taste beef bouillon which was a bit dissatisfying. The rare steaks was tender but appreared chopped. The tendon was overcooked. I'd like a bit crunch in my tendon.
