New favorite in the area for Pho. Great little place in NIagara Falls run by a family from Viet Nam. When the owners are always there, it usually means great service and food. Which is definitely true for Pho Golden. The spring rolls with shrimp were delicious with the peanut sauce. Food was very reasonable with a large quality and quantity of food. Definitely a solid place to go for Pho! I came here during lunch and only had about 10 minutes, but I was hungry and determined for a nice warm soup. The staff reassured that the pho wouldn't take long and I was in/out within 20 minutes, which for a lunch is efficient and appreciated. I ordered the rare beef pho (8.99) and it came with fresh cilantro, sprouts and a flavorful, deep broth and thin slices of rare beef in the soup. After squeezing the lime in, I was in pho-heaven and enjoyed a nice large portion. Service was quick and efficient and I would definitely try some of the other things on the menu next time. As a California native, there are an abundance of Asian food - there are at least 3 Pho places within a mile radius from my home....With that being said, I know a fab Pho place upon the first bite. My family and I just came from seeing the Niagara falls and were in desperate need of reheating our bodies from the cold. We spent our last full day in the Niagara Falls area wandering the American side of the Falls, and found this place through Yelp while looking for dinner. We went out of our way to come here, and would do so again. In particular, I highly recommend the "Hu Tieu Tuoi Dac Biet Viet Nam" -- a light, but flavorful and filling seafood noodle soup, made here with chicken broth instead of the more typical pork bone. There's so much stuff in this soup -- including quail egg, shrimp, crab sticks, squid, and slices of roast pork and fish balls. Sliced jalapeno peppers are provided on the side if you want a little heat (or if you want to burn your tongue off), but this soup stands on its own very well, unlike pho noodle soups that typically call for sriracha and hoisin sauces. Food: Excellent (5 of 5), for the Hu Tieu. Atmosphere: Good (3 of 5). One well-maintained unisex bathroom. Service: Good (3 of 5). My husband and I came from Texas and was really excited for some pho as it was as so cold out. Parking was spacious and the place was small and cozy. The server was nice and attentive. Appetizer: We ordered the Shrimp Banh Khot as this is one of our favs. The fish sauce was really good. The mini pancakes had a nice crisp on the outside and it was fresh and warm. The inside however was a little undercooked. We could still taste the mushed batter. Pho: Both my husband and I had the combination pho. As a pho enthusiast and growing up with it my entire life, the first thing I notice is the aroma of the broth. I was so disappointed as I couldn't smell the ginger, cinnamon, or coriander seeds. I'm having high hopes that the flavor of the pure broth would be better than it smelled. Again, very disappointed as it tasted like salt water. Almost like just a stock and lacked the taste of simmering bones and all the aromatic ingredients that are suppose to be in a bowl of pho. I ended up drenching my bowl in tons of hoisin, sriracha, and two lime wedges. However, the bowl was very meaty. They are very generous with the amounts of meat served with each bowl. Very disappointed by last nights meal. Have eaten here before and loved it but last night the meal was inedible. The pho was thin and watery, had less flavor than usual. The steamed dumplings were miserable. I had to spit it out it tasted so bad. Maybe it's a new chef? New owners? We were visiting Niagara and saw this place had good reviews. I'm sure the food was good here, but we never got the chance to eat. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:35 pm and closing time was 8pm. We thought 30 mins would be plenty of time to order and eat. We walked in and saw a family eating. However, we were told by a young man that they stopped taking dining in customers at 7:30pm and only take out was available. We did not see any signs or yelp warnings about them only take out orders 30 mins before closing. I've worked many years in a restaurant and this was a clear sign that the employees were more concerned with getting off work on time rather than running a business. Stopped by on the drive back from niagra falls for some lunch. The restaurant is in a quiet park of town with parking to the rear of the restaurant. Upon entry, you get the immediate impression that it's a family-owned business, in a positive way. There's plenty of well-spaced seating for about 30-40 people, they have high chairs for the little ones, a huge flat screen so you can be entertained while eating away, there's a restroom passed the counter which is surprisingly spacious and clean. We ordered the spicy seafood rice (#29, about $12) and the extra large combination beef special phò (#49, about $13). The seafood fried rice was packed with a variety of seafood, I'm positive there was more seafood than rice which is a first as many restaurants tend to be stingy with it. The shrimp were big and juicy, the fish balls added a nice saltiness, the pineapple added a dash of sweetness, the baby corns added some textural crunch, the cracked peppercorns added some heat. All in all, a pleasant array of flavours in one dish. The phò was ginormous, probably the biggest bowl I've ever seen it served in. Its way too much for one person, even between 2 it's almost overwhelming, so for $13 a great steal. The broth will be lacking to most people's tastebuds, I personally like the broth more bland. The beef and beef meatballs weren't the best quality though which contributed to the letdown of the dish. The biggest issue with this dish, was it needed a stable source of salt to maximise and tie all the components together. For a budget pho place, the quality and portion of the No.47 pho (with everything) is quite satisfactory. For the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, I would rather get a coffee and condensed milk on the side; the cup I got already had condensed milk added and apparently the portion was quite generous so it gets too sweet. read more

Came here with a party of 11 about an hour before they were closing and they were so accommodating, I can't rave enough how awesome the customer service was - Anthony the server was very thoughtful and refilled our drinks whenever necessary. Their green tea here is so good! It has a coconut aromatic smell- but we found out later that it was actually the smell of lotus flower. The food here is great and their portions were huge! We tried a little bit of everything. Had the short rib appetizer and it came with four juicy, tender and marinaded pieces. The chicken wings appetizer came with sautéed bell peppers, onion and celery and were really yummy as a starter. It's awesome to have something other than fried wings. We also had the XL seafood pho bowl which was seriously the size of a football haha! Haven't seen that big of a bowl in real life and so glad I was sharing with my mom. To be honest- four people can share that bowl if they really wanted to. Their pork chop plate was so flavorful and the fish cake and dried shredded pork was a good side. The over medium egg over the warm rice was mouthwatering for me, but if you guys prefer a different way of cooking your eggs, I'm sure they can work it out. I know this is a touristy area since it's so close to Niagara Falls, but this seems like a place where locals also seem to go as I noticed a lot of take out orders. The place is clean with a lot of tables. We sat down immediately after going, but it did fill up soon after we arrived for the dinner crowd. The food was very good and seasoned well. They have so many options, that you'll need a couple minutes to look and decide, but everything is great. I'd recommend d trying their spring rolls- they're nice, light, & tasty. Their fried rice meals are a bit on the bigger side, but hey- if you can't finish it, it'll make one tasty leftover for the next day! Being this is the only Pho restaurant in the Niagara Falls area to my knowledge we had to try it. Food was tasty. Service was a little slow. No alcohol served at this place. Bubble tea was decent. The jasmine tea which is complementary is delicious and perfect for this cold weather. The inside is a little small, but it works. However you feel the draft as soon as the door opens each time. The Pho is tasty, whether it is the standard or the spicy broth. Fried rice is tasty. We ordered a spring rolls and the ribs from the appetizer menu. Note that the ribs are tiny. A new pho place in Niagara Falls means that I get a great lunch break spot! I've been here a couple times now and haven't been disappointed! When entering the restaurant it's pretty casual - similar to Fast Food 99 if you've been there. Each time I've come there have been a decent amount of people - even though it's fairly new. When I come here I order the #17, which is chicken broth with noodles, seafood, quail eggs.. and a bunch of deliciousness in a bowl. It's unique and I haven't seen this type of noodle soup offered other places in Buffalo previously. The noodles when I first came here were not cooked all the way, but this has not happened since. I've also tried their pork Banh Mi which is delicious and a very affordable appetizer (or second lunch) They also offer bubble tea but I haven't tried it yet, next time! read more

I'm baffled by the excellent reviews, maybe it's the fact I've grown up used to having more Viet options and better ones too but I guess for this area - what do you expect?. The banh mi had barely little meat and was mostly bread. The bun was average to below average, and they did not prepare it correctly (without peanuts) as we asked. Could have killed someone. This place would never survive in a city with a sizeable Viet population and as a Viet person, I can not recommend Pho Golden. read more

We were in town looking for a different pho spot. Our favorite vietnamese/ chinese restaurant stopped serving vietnamese food and we have been trying different places for their rare beef pho to compare it to the recipe of our old favorite spot. We showed up at 11am when they opened and were promptly greeted and given a menu & water. The server was friendly and to the point which is how we like our service. He checked on us throughout our meal which we appreciated. The place was clean and our server immediately wiped down our table when we were finished. We both ordered the #36 rare beef pho. You can see in the photos what it comes with. I appreciated how quick it came out and how hot it was. The noodles were cooked properly which is something that is tricky to get right with rice noodles. I couldn't give this place a 5 star simply because we both felt the broth was bland and a bit greasy. You can see the grease on top in the picture. If the broth was more flavorful I would have given this place 5 stars. It is missing a key component of flavor to tie it all together and I can't quite put my finger on it. read more
