The chicken was such a flavorful bite. The marinade was delicious and I love their peanut sauce. We shared a vegetable pad, Thai and fried rice. Both prepared beautifully and very tasty. The service is good. Tonight they got very busy and I think the waiter was a little overwhelmed, but all good. Still very gracious and took care of our needs. Ordered for pick-up, they charge .50 for to-go orders which is silly. 15.50 for the pho, .50 surcharge for to-go, and tax 1.44, so total of 17.44 for a small bowl of pho. Not worth it. We haven't been to Green Papaya for a couple years as we moved away. Decided to stop in and see if it was still as good as it was back then. To our delight we were happy to see that they have maintained their great reputation. We both ordered beef phõ and it was delicious. Everything was cooked well and the meat was nice and tender. I had the Crimson Peach Tea with peach pieces and my spouse had an iced Thai tea with tapioca boba. Both drinks were made well. The service was fantastic, attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and quick service. The restaurant was inviting, well decorated, and clean.I would definitely recommend giving Pho Green Papaya a try as you won't regret it! read more

I go in here quite a bit, and I really like a lot of the dishes. The interior is nice, with a beautiful mural on the wall. The servers are friendly and they are generally really quick with seating. In regards to food, their pho is pretty good. The broth is decent and the toppings are plentiful. Generally I find that their rice noodles tend to be a bit on the overcooked side, but other than that I'm a big fan. The thing that prevents me from giving them a five star is that they generally struggle to get take out orders correct if you ask for anything additional (like chili oil) or ask for a substitution (no mayo on a Bánh mì, for example). I'm not sure why this is, but I've had to go back more than five times because they didn't leave off mayo on the bánh mì or because they forgot something like chili oil, ect. I just started checking the things and opening them if I was getting it to go. Still a regular place and really good food, just doesn't have that five stars due to feeling like I need to inspect everything to make sure we got what we ordered. read more

There is currently at least one complaint to Labor and Industry about them and soon to be more. And for sure don't support a restaurant that treats their employees like trash. You just post your employee wage and tip policy (according to Washington State law) on your website, and Facebook. This was our first visit there since they remodeled the dining room earlier this month. The new tables, booths, light fixtures, and art work vastly improved the atmosphere and ambiance. The food is delicious, but the staff leave when they feel like it, making the posted hours on the door a bald-faced lie. Save yourself the aggravation and the disrespect for your time. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that don't treat customers like an inconvenience. To further clarify after receiving a response: This is not a reaction to a single bad night. This is a reaction to a pattern over the last year of showing up during business hours, and it being bloody random whether or not I'm going to leave with food. I am so sad to have to write this but I am hoping the business pays attention. The food is fresh and wonderful, the problem is the service. There were two people in the kitchen and one wait staff. The person waiting on the tables was slow and disorganized. We waited for 10 minutes to order, another 20 minutes for food and even more time getting water and to go containers. They were busy (it was lunch time on a Wednesday). They really need to hire more people that are not family (it is obvious). Unfortunately this has happened the last several times we have been in. First their chicken satay is the BEST I've ever had. Not only is their chicken cooked to perfection, the SAUCE it comes with is the best. Slightly spicy, but it's literally the ONLY reason I keep going back to that place. WHY A 2. The pho itself is just decent. 2021 Update: They have a sign warning you about their lack of staff causing poor service. But honestly, 3 servers for 7 tables is a pretty good ratio of servers to customers. We sat and waited today for so long. It's crazy they didn't even seat us and get us water. Once we ordered we waited for the drinks we got for a long time. We basically got our drinks and appetizers at the same time. The pho here really has gone down hill. The broth was so bland and the portions of meat were lacking. They were out of tendon and happily doubled a meat of my choosing. Well the last 2 times we have ordered with Door Dash the order has been wrong. We order extra noodles each time and the and they can't seem to get it right. On top of that they used to used to put the soup inside of bags and use stronger sacks, but this time it ripped and the Doordasher brought up piece out of his car!!! This place is clean, has amazing food, and fast service when they aren't packed. Prices are pretty average (not expensive, but not cheap either). Entree portions definitely fill you up. They have really good business every day they're open. Atmosphere is casual - a good place to brings friends and family. During COVID they offer take-out and dine-in (currently). Back home in hawaii, pho was served to me in a little shack on a farm with dirt as the flooring. The smell of delicious beef broth simmering in a huge pot and only a light bulb to light your way. That's how I remember pho. Homemade. Finding a pho restaurant is hard, especially when you've had it homemade. So I'll try to be as lenient in this review. Food: we've tried more than just pho and let me tell you. YUM!!! My favorite would have to be the pad Thai and fish sauce chicken wings. Such a perfect combo. The pho broth is flavorful. This place really met my standards when it came to pho and Thai food. Service: PANDEMIC UPDATE: staff wears masks and properly practices hand hygiene. We found a server slapping the tables with a towel all over the place, and it very much disturbed our appetite. The food was sub-par, and had much to improve on in the scope of broth. Ordered a Bun Bo Hue with extra tendons for $4 extra but unfortunately did not receive it. I understand that mistakes do happen but when I called the restaurant, the person who answered the phone talked to the chef and he claimed that he gave me extra which was an outright lie. I rarely ever give out 1 star reviews and I'm known for giving good and positive reviews but this did not sit right with me. If whoever prepared the dish had said that it was a mistake on his end, I would have absolutely understood and dismissed the issue. Aside from that, the bun Bo hue this time around was lacking in flavor and a bit bland. Also something to note is that they charge extra if you are taking to-go. The worse service that we have ever experienced. We saw the sign that stated they were short staffed when we walked in. The waitress took our order and did not write anything down. We were a party of four and one meal came out before our salad rolls which were supposed to be a stater. We watched as take out orders went out the door and we waited for another one and half hours before two of our dinners came out. The waitress explained a few times and thanked us for being patient. The last order was no where to be seen. The waitress was actually arguing with the kitchen and the third meal appeared which was completely wrong. The waitress then said they ran out of white rice!!! Gee could it be that the orders that were door dash got all the white rice. Someone then came to our table with the manager on the phone. My husband spoke to the manager on the phone who kept repeating that he would try and fix whatever went wrong. We stated that we were not going to pay for any of our meals. We did however tipped the waitress because she tried to explain what was going on. And we left not finishing any of our meals as we lost our appetite. One of the least favoriate bland bowls of pho I have ever had. The other menu items were fine. I had to ask for Sriracha and hoisin sauce several times as they did not have bottles on the table and they gave you a tiny bit. I get there is a Sriracha shortage but come on. Maybe it was a bad day....I had to go to another place for dinner to get a good bowl of pho. I will give them one more shot though. read more
