Their menu is just big enough to have interesting options without being overwhelming. We tried the Special Rice Plate that came with tons of tasty grilled meats, veggies, egg rolls, and a fried egg. We also had the Bun Cha Ha Noi which seems like the house specialty. It's grilled pork and chicken in a sweet-savory broth served with fresh vermicelli noodles. Good spot after a long days of work and when it's cold outside. I need to try the chicken pho. I have came here twice and have to say the first time I got rare steak and flank. The meats were good, but the second time I got double flank and the meat slices were a bit tough and very fatty. I'm a fan of some fat, just not all fat. A solid, well-deserved four stars. Pho Hanoi has no ambiance but it's clean inside. Service is friendly and most importantly, the food is solid. I ordered the special combo with pork and chicken. It arrived with a perfectly fried egg carefully placed over a mound of rice, fresh julienned raw vegetables, and a plain-looking clear broth that was surprisingly delicious The meat was flavorful but the pork was a bit fatty. I like that there's a down-home Vietnamese restaurant in the Orenco Station neighborhood and I hope they stay. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to try their banh mi. read more

Actually there should be six stars for "perfect" which this restaurant is. Brand new establishment with excellent food, service and environment. Everything is made fresh and so amazing. We started with the salad rolls. Unbelievable with shrimp and pork and served with a warm peanut sauce. I forgot to say that we were offered water or hot tea upon arrival. We had the Special Pho and Veggie Pho. The Special Pho had so much meat along with the noodles and such a flavorful broth. The Veggie Pho was filled with broccoli, cauliflower, small whole mushrooms, onions and tofu. Both dishes were to die for. As you can probable tell, we were more than satisfied with Pho Ha Noi and cannot understand the low star reviews given by someone else. Enjoyed a hot bowl of Pho Dac Biet (special) on a rainy evening at Pho Ha Noi. The broth was comforting and so flavorful, the noodles were flat and thicker than what most might be used to--it's a northern style of pho! The service was nice, the staff was really kind to check in and come by to ask how the meal is, how we were doing and just really inviting. I personally don't like any broth base meal without veggie. The restaurant is very small. It's not good for large group (8+). This restaurant gets a 1 star for the friendly waitress. I was really hopeful and looking forward to this restaurant! I saw photos and video of the delicious bun rieu. When he said it was the best he's had, I had to try since that was my favorite dish growing up. The one I had today looked nothing like in the photos and video. The broth was opaque red. When I tasted it, I could taste the canned tomato sauce and it had canned tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes. It was really overpowering so I couldn't taste anything else. There should be no tomato sauce in bun rieu. I think they ran out of tomatoes and cut corners, which is really unfortunate. The rieu tasted good but instead of chunks of crab with pork, it disintegrated into the broth in tiny pieces. northern style cha gio had an amazing taste and were delicious, but it was a bit soggy in the center and could have been fried longer. read more

I am PASSIONATE about food, especially Vietnamese food. Coming from Los Angeles (Orange County has one of the best viet food in the country) and having lived in Vietnam for many years, I have a very high standard for Viet food. Their Bun Rieu here is...just incredible. The pork bone broth has incredible depth and is balanced really from the acidity of the tomatoes. They don't skimp out on toppings. The highlight of the bowl for me is their rieu, the minced pork and crab mixture. I think this is what sets out good bun rieu from amazing bun rieu. I can tell they spent a great deal of time cooking it at a low heat to be able to achieve such a tender and delicate texture. Overcooked pork mince and crab is just unappetizing. My second favorite item on the menu is their Bun Bo Hue. She told me she uses many different types of beef bones, beef, and pork to be able to achieve more depth in their stock. Lemongrass HAS TO be in the forefront of a good bowl of bun bo hue in tandem with a rich stock and they do a great job at this. Again, they don't skimp out on toppings. I know service can sometimes be difficult for them to navigate. Personally, I couldn't care less about the service at Asian restaurants, as long as the food is good! This is how it is in most of Southeast Asia! So please have some empathy and patience when you dine at family owned restaurants. I can't comment about their pho. I'm not a huge pho guy, because bun rieu and bun bo hue exist. read more

Exceptional Northern Vietnamese Cuisine! I recently dined at Pho Ha Noi and it was amazing! The staff was friendly and attentive. This was my first time trying Bun Cha and I wasn't quite sure how to correctly eat it. The waiter was happy to provide instructions and some background on their cooking process. Bun Cha is my go-to dish here. My wife got the Pho Special, the broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the meats were tender and flavorful. The standout though was Grilled Pork / Chicken vermicelli noodles (D20). I have tried vermicelli at many other Vietnamese restaurants, but this dish had SO MUCH FLAVOR.
