Pho was good. Nice broth and good portion. My favorite though was the fresh Spring Roll. The rolls consisted of large fresh shrimp and they were good size. Take out was pretty fast. I recently dined at this spot, and it's definitely a unique experience! The ambiance is very quiet and dark, with the lights kept off to take full advantage of the natural light coming in through large windows surrounding the dining area. Unless it was just for the day that I visited, lol but if this is their usual practice and you're used to bright, bustling environments, this might take a minute to get used to, as it feels a little more calm and subdued. That said, the food was absolutely fantastic! I had the Banh Mi chicken, and it was everything I hoped for. The flavors were spot-on--crispy, savory, and fresh, just like a Banh Mi should be. Leaving the supermarket across the street we were hungry and have always wanted to try this place out. Walking up the parking lot was empty, when we walked in we were the only patrons inside! We were greeted right away and sat right away. Few moments later our drink and food orders were taken. Drinks were brought out right away Ice tea and a lemonade which were both good. We received our food shortly after the pho looked great, the fixings were looking a little old and wilted but we kept them. After my wife fixed up her bowl she said it was still just missing something. I ordered the sauteed chicken and vegetables with Pan fried noodles! With a little soy and siracha they were great! Noodles perfectly cooked, tender chicken and al dente veggies! The place is huge, and like I said we were the only patrons... It was clean and quiet and showing signs of age but a nice place to eat. chicken pho and it was so good. I really tasted the ginger and it just warmed my belly and my soul! I also got a banh mi and that was so tasty- best bread I've ever had! The owner said they make the bread in house! And they buy good quality flour that goes for 20$ a bag. Best French baguette bread I've ever had. I'm so glad to have found this gem! Really good food. Vegetables and meat were well cooked and flavorful. The noodles were really tasty. My boyfriend got pho noodles and he loved it too. We also got to pork rolls for an appetizer and those were alright. They also serve good portions so you're not too full afterwards. The only complaint I have is that the inside of the restaurant was not appealing. The ceiling is old and dirty, and a lot of the lights were off. My co-workers and I came to this Pho place because our normal place is closed on Tuesdays. The place appeared to be popular with the locals but I will not return. One of the workers was digging in his nose like he was searching for gold. He went to the back and came back out again for all the customers to see and proceeded to digging in his nose again. I told the main gentlemen and he didn't think it was a big deal. Then I take a look at my pho bowl and it looks like it hasn't been washed in probably 6 customers. Place is a bit hidden... But thanks to Google you can find it on the backside of a plaza that's not very eye-catching. We had a vermicelli with lemongrass pork and a Mongolian beef lunch special and both were very flavorful! I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the Mongolian beef. Portions weren't disgustingly huge but satisfying. Turns out, they have bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) where they bake the French bread fresh daily! Will definitely go back to try!! read more

Decided to try this restaurant after doing a bit a shopping at the Asia supermarket across the street. The dining area was empty which made it seem like they were about to close but they assured me they were opened. My husband and myself decided to try the pho while my teenager tried the sesame chicken from the menu. The pho was definitely worth trying. The potion was more than enough to fill up on. The broth was light and not overwhelming. The sesame chicken was also delicious with a crisp and covered in a tasty sauce. Definitely will try again read more

Cheap prices but also smaller portions. Food was average. We ordered the summer rolls (clear skin version) which were fine and we got the grilled pork vermicelli bowl. The pork was average, somewhat small portion than what I'm used to and no pickled vegetables. For reference, I'm from SF Bay Area where there are a lot of good Vietnamese places. I would have gladly come back because it's cheap, decent food. However, they tried overcharging us thinking we wouldn't notice. When we brought it up, they told us it was just because of tax. We ordered the summer rolls (3.25) and two grilled pork vermicelli (6.50 each), which should've been 16.25 plus tax = 17.66. Instead, they gave us the receipt without the breakdown and just charged us 19.50. They told us the vermicelli bowl was 7.50 but after directing them to their own menu, they finally refunded us but only $1.50. I won't be coming back. It's not about the money, it's about not having to worry about being scammed every time I come here and order something. read more

Pho Hai An serves a decent meal at reasonable prices. The restaurant appears to be closed but just get off your car to check...they keep the lights pretty dim here. We used to come here quite often around 2003-2005 but the owners changed as well as the quality in food. The broth needs some adjustments, it lacked flavor. My beef/meatballs were quite chewy but I managed to add some things to make it taste alright. I seemed to like my sister's chicken pho better. Our Cha Gio was pretty tasty, we could have eaten about two more! One thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that we were overcharged by $3-4 and had to bring this to his attention. When in doubt, always ask for itemized receipts. I love that their prices aren't outrageous, we will definitely return to try other items on the menu. read more

I got the combo pho, the noodles were pre blanched, the broth was flavorless, the meatballs were from frozen, the steak and brisket were again flavorless. Went here after finding out our normal Walzem joint closed early. I'd seen this place before in the past but never paid it any mind. Pho Hai An is one of those hidden surprises you find on accident. Easily one of the better Vietnamese places on this side of town (and perhaps in the city). I do feel bad for it though, being that is a little hidden on the backend of a stripmall off of walzem. If anything drives this place under, it will be the obscure location and NOT the food (which is pretty tasty). The older gentlemen that runs this establishment, while him and his family are great cooks and amazing hosts. They are very sneaky, he acts like he doesn't know how to cancel a transaction. Because of his limited English, great I understand. But when you charge us over $60 and blame it on your low English and not understanding the ways of your credit card machine.
