The spring rolls were the stars of the show: fresh, flavorful, and disappeared faster than my self-control. The service, on the other hand, moved with the urgency of someone hitting the snooze button for the fifth time. Not terrible, just not exactly speed dating with your server. I will rate this restaurant good+(4.5 stars). We stopped in here on our way to Tampa and it was conveniently located right off the freeway (I-4). The staff were friendly and came to our table periodically to check up on us and clear plates. We had ordered x2 appetizers to try; the Fried Shrimp Rolls and the Spring Rolls (called "fresh rolls" on the menu). I always order Pho at Vietnamese restaurants, but elected to try the Bun Nem Hue, a spicy beef noodle soup (vermicelli noodles, beef brisket, tendon and Vietnamese ham). A side plate of mint, bean sprouts, shredded cabbage, sliced jalapeno and lime wedge came with it. They also have a few condiments at the table if inclined. The better half ordered the Bun Tom, Thit & Cha gio (grilled shrimp, grilled pork slices and egg roll on a bed of noodles, with a sauce to add). We both enjoyed our selections. However, the sliced egg roll in the wife's dish was pretty bland (while everything else was quite flavorful). Drinks, including water (which you pay for at a modest $1.50), come in their respective containers and a glass of ice. I almost went for the bahn mi sandwich (the menu refers to them as Vietnamese Sandwich). I do like me a good bahn mi, but I will save that for our next visit to see how good they are. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite on our way from Tampa to Orlando. This little spot was busy with a steady flow of dine-in and take-out customers. Now going by Pho La-Vie, it appears to be a family-run business and the girls were friendly and welcomed and thanked every customer. Although the atmosphere is far from quaint or fancy, the table was freshly cleaned and had plenty of condiments for the meals. We enjoyed the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce as a starter. The waitress steered us away from the vegetarian pho and suggested the lemon grass tofu with rice and the shrimp noodle bowl. The portions were ample. Minimal veggies, but tasty. The grilled shrimp were delicious, but still had the shell on, so that was annoying and messy. The food was fresh. The service friendly. I would recommend to a Yelp friend. read more

This Vietnamese restaurant serve the Thornotossa area. I was surprise by most of the customers there. Many where hospitals gown to eat here. I thought this is a farm land, I expect mostly farmer. I got the grilled pork sausage fresh roll to start. This fresh roll is delicious. The dipping sauce is gigantic with embed entire roll. I got rice combination platter. It has a lot of stuff. The first Vietnamese restaurant in Plant City! Was super excited to see this pop up a few months ago and finally got to try them recently now that they're open. My wife and I were blown away by how good the food was. I ordered the House Special pho and my wife got the Lemongrass Tofu Rice Platter. We ordered to-go, so they gave a container of the pho broth and then the noodle, proteins, basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos, sriracha, and hoisin sauce separately. If you order this, be aware some of the meat is raw/not fully cooked. That's normal! The pho broth cooks the meat for you! Put everything in the soup and enjoy. We also got the tofu fresh rolls (summer rolls for those familiar). The peanut sauce was awesome and I also got some of the fish sauce (used in the bun noodle dishes) to try as well, and it was so good. Everything was so good I forgot to take photos before digging in... Whoops. Please give them a try, the food is amazing and you get a lot for a good price! They deserve your business! read more

We have been waiting to try this place for so long!! They are located in the strip across from Burger King on the Publix side of the road. We were greeted upon entering and told we can sit wherever we wanted. There are several 4 person tables, a large group table and a couple of 2 person tables to choose from. This was my first time having pho so I did tell the sweet girl that was taking our order that I needed help and she was happy to assist me in what to pick! If you're not sure how to order, just ask!! I ended up choosing the spicy beef pho and my daughter ordered the chicken pho. If you don't do cilantro like me, just ask them to leave it out of your veggie plate. I really enjoyed mine. My daughter wasn't expecting her broth to be a little sweet but we didn't know what to expect so that's no big deal. The regular bowls are huge!! I think you could actually share one. On our vacation trip in florida, we were traveling from Orlando to Tampa and was hungry. We googled some places to along the route and found a vietnamese place in Plant City. We read some reviews and thought it was the perfect place to stop to get our Pho on. Ambiance - the place was located in a strip mall, so it can be easily missed if your not from the area or using gps to find it. It was nice and clean with a warm setting. There was lot so light into the place due to large windows and it being a corner spot. Wait Staff - The waitress was very nice and friendly. Super helpful Entree - The 3 of us ordered 3 regular bowls of the house special Pho. The broth was so flavorful. He put a lot of effort into making the broth. 35 lbs of product in each pot for avg of 18hrs of simmering to bring out the rich beef flavor. Having tasted many pho from all over the country, I feel this is one of the top tasting bowls I have had thus far. Drinks - vietnamese ice coffee was very tasty and refreshing Value - the regular bowl was very large in size and had ample amounts of food for us. We are 3 rather large guys and it was enough food. Price wise it was 14.50 for a regular and 16.50 for a large. I give a full 2 thumbs up for value for what your getting. Overall - this a real gem in plant city, Florida. We were extremely pleased with the meal and how friendly our waitress was. I highly recommend trying the place for any locals or passerby like ourselves. Until the next one. I've been going here since the restaurant opened. I was delighted that PC was getting a little more variety. Well today I called in an order. I went in per usual and paid the young child at the front, before she even gave me my bag of food I asked for a few soy sauce packets (or sometimes they give me a little condiment cup), some Sriracha packets and chili paste. To my surprise they said they charge for condiments, she even verified with her adult co-workers, the same condiments I've always gotten with my food for FREE at their establishment and virtually any Asian restaurant. To tell a customer that just spent $40 on a to go order in these times, that they can't have complimentary condiments to go with the food they just purchased is wild. Even at chic fil a, Burger King, all the way to steakhouses you get condiments with no extra charge as long as it isn't excessive. Mind you these are some of the same condiments sitting on each table for in-house customers. I could understand if these were specialty sauces, but this is regular stuff. These folks really need to apply the Bob Farrell's philosophy on customer service 'give them the pickle' if they are going to build a loyal customer base. I don't patronize businesses that don't appreciate their customers and make things unnecessarily difficult. read more

I was so excited that this opened in Plant City! I got the lemongrass tofu rice platter. The texture of the tofu was perfect. The sauce was delicious. FOUND A LIVING SNAIL IN THE HERBS!! This place was SUCH a disappointment. I've been excitingly anticipating the grand opening of this restaurant for months. I took my best friend and mom during the following weekend of the grand opening. Tiny little place with very limited menu options but since it's new I wasn't complaining. Our server messed up our spring roll order TWICE and by the third time we had told him we no longer wanted it (he STILL brought it out and had us pay for it). The vietnamese noodle bowl was not good either, the noodles were overcooked (soggy) and the chicken meat was very dark which took us by surprise. The pho soup itself wasn't anything special. While adding the herbal garments my mom picked up a basil plant to find a LIVE snail in the vegetables. The fact that there was a high possibility that we could've eaten it is disgusting. We told our server who was in complete shock and he went to tell the manager. The manager came out and apologized and offered us only 15% off!! WHICH IS ABSURD! It wasn't even the cost of the spring rolls we DIDNT want! This place left such a bad taste in our mouths. Will NEVER return nor recommend it. Puts good pho to shame. read more
