First of all, please relocate that houseplant turned tree. It must be the most unfortunately located "decor" I've encountered. The menu is confusing, hard to tell prices because it's listed strangely. Thankfully I'm an old pro and ordered a medium sized combination pho. All the other phos are beneath my asian power level. I don't recommend the combination unless you enjoy tripe(belly). I noticed they were missing the usual cartrilage, minus points. I consider 3 things: noodle, ingredients, broth. Ingredients and noodle were good. However broth was very underwhelming. If you didnt know the broth is made of a complex mix of spices that are not limited to but include sexy combinations of star anise, coriander, cloves, cinnamon sticks. The quality of broth is super important in bringing out the flavors of the meat and adding a wonderful flavor to the texture of noodle. Having a weak broth is like eating ramen without the season pack. The noodles are just sitting there in hot water. So yes I paid for noodles and meat on boiled water. Someone said this place is the "best pho in Tampa"? First of all this is Brandon/Riverview and everyone here will need to drive a little further for the good stuff. God Bless. read more

If you like pho this is the place for you! The pho is incredible! The rice noodles aren't as exciting and I found them to be quite bland. It is fresh but that's about it. However there's a number of pho options to choose from and meat combinations. We did a combination of flank and brisket for our pho choice and got a large. The portion size was huge! Even my 6'3" husband couldn't finish it without a little help and he was stuffed. We will definitely be back for pho! read more

We stopped here on our way back from Orlando traveling to Naples at lunch time. We were looking for an easy bowl of Phô near the highway and boy did we find it. For one, they were very busy which was a great sign. Once we sat down and opened the menu I was so impressed. They had every combination of Phô right there listed on the menu which I had never seen before. Then, they have a page of specialty Phô with awesome, unique, combinations! It was impressive. This place is soooo yummy! Their broth and meat is one of the best I've had when it comes to Pho. They offer a small, medium, or large bowl and an endless list of pho meats (steak, seafood, chicken, vegetable, etc). They also have amazing customer service and I've never been disappointed. As far as PHO goes this is just average. Taste was slightly off on the soup base. Spring rolls were oddly cut in half. Not that I've eaten at every restaurant in the United States but I've never had a rolls cut in half. Also made with much filler. Rolls are small and the shrimp and pork are small. Peanut sauce is also weak in taste. I don't live around here. I travel for a living. But if there is a Nother restaurant in the area that offers PHO, then I would try it next time. read more

I haven't tried a lot of pho places, but with this place I don't need too ! Pho Hoang has an enormous variety of pho from chicken, to rare steak, tofu, vegetables, shrimp, anything you can think of ! They also have a big selection of appetizers, plates, and extra add on's. The service was great, me and my party of four got put on a table fast and serviced fast. Our waiter was kind and experienced.I asked for the veggie pho and it came with bean spouts, jalapeños, mint, basil, and lemon on a side plate as toppings ( we asked for an extra plate of toppings and they brought it to us with no extra charge ). I also recommend putting sriracha and sweet sauce on top , trust me it taste AWESOME! The prices were great because all of us asked for a small bowl ($9.00-$14.00 depends on your choice of meat) and none of us were able to finish it ! There were humongous ! Finally, I almost forgot! The space was creative because all there walls had these beautiful Vietnamese paintings and they also had nice background music, very clean too! read more

This place has the best spring rolls/egg rolls and Pho I have had! The small order is giant and it's amazing. They put so many noodles packed in the bowl along with meat. I've had the chicken and rare steak - both are superb. They provide you lots of toppings for your pho also. I highly recommend this place!! On top of that the server gave us SYRUP instead of hoisin sause we put it into our bowls and realized that it was the wrong sauce but when we brought it to her attention she did bring us the correct sauce but didn't offer to take our bowls away at all but instead said "oh shit" then walked away. Ordered combination rice noodle bowl, got 1 shrimp, and lettuce is brown and rotted as you can see. Order beef pho with extra meatballs and lots of extra lime, got 1 meatball and 3 tiny pieces of lime, actually a wedge and a half, because they took tiny wedges and cut them in half. Wilted rotted lettuce, and very little food. Don't recommend and not coming here again. Guy even recited my order to me while I was standing there before I left. He opened the containers behind the counter and was so confident as he recited my order and even that I had extra things I didn't think to look. Wish I had. What terrible service. read more

Tried this place today although based on the reviews I read pertaining to service, I decided to try carry out. This was my first Pho (and Vietnamese in general) experience but with the good reviews of the food, I trusted fellow yelpers to steer us in the right direction! Needless to say, I was not disappointed. I tried the Raw Steak Pho and my wife tried the Chicken Pho and we did an order of 2 egg rolls, all to-go. The meal was ready on time when I arrived (10 minutes - not bad) and the servers were great, when they found out it was my first experience they took the time to explain how to serve the meals. They opened each box to show what was in them and how to prepare everything and explained all of the sauces. We got home and prepared both meals as they had prescribed, except I took all of my wife's onions and put them in my dish. I put all of the hoisin and some of the siracha in mine and mixed it all together and took my first taste and I was caught off guard by the five spice (or similar flavor) in the broth. I took another taste and it was......hmmm.....DELICIOUS! This was the most fragrant, flavorful, spicy, sweet, crispy, juicy, delicate mouthful of food I had tasted in a while. Maybe it was my inexperience of Vietnamese food but this seemed to stimulate many different senses all at once! The eggrolls looked fried but seemed to be lacking any of the normal grease you would see with fried eggrolls. They have a little different flavor than usual, a little closer to Thai eggrolls (except they didn't have rice paper wrappers) than Chinese or Japanese (they also didn't have wonton wrappers) and they came with a mildly sweet, watery looking sauce. Though interesting, and I was glad I tried them, I'm not entirely sure I would order them again. All in all, I am hooked and can say I will be trying other dishes on my brief lunch breaks, I highly recommend this place! read more

I almost always stick to ordering a veggie or shrimp Pho when doing Vietnamese but unfortunately (my one and only gripe about this joint) they do not offer a chicken stock broth, just beef. So I went with a veggie noodle dish with fish sauce (bun chay maybe? Don't recall the menu name) Rice noodles, crispy onions, shredded cabbage, green onion, etc with fish sauce on the side. AMAZING. So very tasty. My man friend ordered the summer rolls and a similar noodle dish with shrimp and chicken. Delicious! Service with a smile and most excellent Vietnamese cuisine. I have procrastinated writing this review forever. Don't want to be the one to downgrade an obviously popular restaurant. Hubby really wanted to try some Pho, and I'm game to try most new things so we came here for a late lunch. Typical strip mall place, nothing fancy at all, but it was quite busy for 3 in the afternoon. Waitstaff was just ok. We ordered some egg rolls first. Not like the ones I'm used to but good. Ate them all. Then we got our bowls of Pho along with a plate of bean sprouts and fresh cilantro/basil. Loaded my bowl up with bean sprouts and also added some cilantro/basil both things I enjoy a lot . Now the first bite....noodles were good, beef was just ok if you could find any, and the meatballs were so so. I did not like the taste of the broth at all. I tried to figure out what that flavor was that was so unappealing to me. The "minty" flavor did me in. I think it may have actually been anise...not for me. I remember seeing shows on TV where they ate Pho in Vietnam. Their bowls were loaded with stuff. I found ours quite sparse. I think our bill was around $26 and no way 2 bowls of soup and a few tiny egg rolls (we drank water) were worth the cost. I really wanted to like this, but alas, it just left me....well.....hungry. read more
