B2. Grilled Pork Rice Vermicelli Bowl + egg rolls
    Anh N.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while going to Publix. Medium size restaurant, clean, minimal decors. It really gives that Vietnamese restaurant vibes - if you know, you know. If you're looking for some authentic Vietnamese food, I highly recommend this place. Pho dac biet (special) tastes great. A little different from what I'm used to but you can smell all the spices and the flavor was balanced. All the sides and sauces were there too. Grilled pork vermicelli was delicious was well!! I added egg rolls to my bowl which was good but skippable. Refreshing veggies. Great fish sauce. The grilled pork was marinated well. This is a dish I can eat daily because it's pretty healthy and low calories. Vietnamese coffee - strong and sweetened with condensed milk. I got a generous sized cup and couldn't even finish it. Id definitely get this again. There were two servers - including the manager herself. Both were nice and polite. Manager checked up on us a few times. This is better service than most Vietnamese restaurants in LA.

    Inside

I had spring rolls, crab rangoons and chicken Pho. Spring rolls standard shrimps were small, pork was dry. Crab Rangoon filling good but not a fan of sweetness. Won ton wrappers thicker and chewy. Pho, chicken very dry, veggies fresh but the onions weren't sweet they were very hot and bitter, broth just ok, lacked flavor all I could taste was 5 spice. Pretty expensive for soup. I won't be back.

Vermicelli with pork chop, egg roll, with shrimp was pretty good. Fish sauce needs a bit more spice and saltiness. Fried chicken was salty and had no flavor. Service was great.

    Pho for dinner.

Can this be 3.5 star review? Service was on point, attentive and great with my questions. Food came out fast which is always a plus. As we ate, we both started to not like it as much as the bite before. Later on, we both were nauseous. Nothing came from it and we were fine the next morning. Just don't want to go back to try again sadly. 14.06.2024

Yummy food and chill ambiance. It feels like home and the owner is amazing! I recommend the B7 "Shaking Beef"; delicious diced filet mignon with tangy sauce and broken rice, what more could you want?! PS-Taro Boba absolutely slaps 彡

Warm and cozy environment that feels like home. Excellent service. The woman who owns the place is extremely friendly and is the mother you wish you had. The food is yummy as well!

Chicken Pho is delicious! We've eaten here several times and always enjoy the chicken pho with homemade egg noodles. A plethora of fresh ingredients such as Thai basil, lime, bean sprouts, Jalapeño, etc. comes with the Pho. Service is attentive and friendly. My only complaint is the ambiance could be much better. It's a little depressing in there so I recommend taking it to go.

Great service and food! We loved their summer rolls soooo delish! This will be our new spot :)

In a Publix center near Hwy. 70, we were excited to finally find a pho restaurant. (Say that 3x fast!) Ironically, we opted for a vermicelli with tofu bowl and chicken fried rice. Large portions, very tasty, with plenty of veggies. Family owned charming restaurant, very clean as well. I tried the iced coffee which is very strong so be prepared for the caffeine kick! Looking forward to trying the pho next time...they offer meat or chicken or veggie broth. Plenty of parking...enjoy!

While it looked rather empty the bartender was acting absolutely slammed and frantic. We had chosen to sit at the front bar because the place looked rather empty and thought that would be easier. It was nearly 10 minutes before she even came to ask for our drink order. My friend and I have both worked in the service industry and understand someone being in the weeds so we told her that we understood and could be patient. Once our drink order was actually taken it was a while still before our drinks were made and served to us. That was fine. They were tasty even if my friend's Arnold Palmer was light on tea and heavy on lemonade. Not a huge deal. However, with how long everything was taking we decided not to order any food, despite the food looking pretty good. Boy were we glad that we didn't! We were there for over an hour and the bartender was in our sight that entire time. At no point did we see her, or the server who was helping her at different points in time, wash their hands. Even after handling trash or used dishes from tables. We could see them handling this trash and where the sink was (there were actually multiple sinks in our view) and they just... did not use them. So not great for food handling and safety. This was made even worse after we watched the waitress hand the bartender two glasses of water from a table. The bartender then dumped the contents and placed the glasses on the bar mat as if they were waiting to be used again without washing between customers. So, unless someone can prove to me actual food safety and handling training of staff that is given and enforced, I will not be returning.

The produce section is always piled high with the most beautiful displays of fruits and vegetables. They make fresh salsa in-house, have an entire area of fresh fruit (even a station where you can core your own pineapple!), and offer some of the freshest seafood and meats around. The deli is just as impressive, with sandwiches, soups, and salads -- and you can have a sandwich made exactly how you like it. There's even a cheese bar where they sample specialty cheeses. Around special occasions like Valentine's Day, you'll find them hand-dipping chocolate-covered strawberries and offering samples. Their bakery is incredible. Everything is made from scratch -- the cinnamon rolls are absolutely amazing, and we love the cookies and cakes. They bake their own bread and even make their own donuts. From the produce to the meat department to the bakery, everything at Detwiler's is truly top-notch. They also have an ice cream counter featuring homemade Yoder's ice cream. You can grab a sundae, milkshake, or even an açai bowl while you're there. Yes, it's always busy -- but somehow the checkout lines move quickly every single time. They are incredibly efficient, and the staff is some of the friendliest and most helpful you'll find anywhere. The store is beautifully decorated, with each department thoughtfully themed. They play uplifting Christian music throughout the store, and no matter how crowded it gets, it's always a pleasant experience. People are genuinely smiling -- even the shoppers seem happy to be there. If you're visiting from out of town, Detwiler's is a must-stop. I have mastered a homemade recipe and I'm hard to impress when it comes to Caesar . (We ordered it extra saucy) The only thing we didn't love was the grouper spread, but that was more of a personal preference--it leaned more toward a tuna fish style spread rather than the creamier version we were expecting. The service was great too, the waiters are obviously kept super busy in a spot like that but still managed to get the job done with a smile!
