We had a chance to try Paik's noodle for dinner and it didn't disappoint. We got seated right away on a Saturday night and it was a quick and great service. The restaurant is very clean and has this aesthetic vibe. We ordered jajjangmyeon, dumplings, soy garlic chicken wings and sweet and sour pork. Everything is amazingly delish. Their pricing also pretty reasonable with the portion of food that we received. - Dumplings are pretty big and lots of fillings. Not too heavy and has the perfect crisp. - Black bean noodles is amazing. The texture of the noodle is perfect with the sauce that has lots of onions. It's not too salty and sweet as well. - Sweet and sour pork is the best I've had so far. They use great quality of pork and the breading is pretty light. The sauce is amazing. - Soy garlic chicken wings is just finger licking good. The chicken is very tender and juice. Definitely will go back to try their other items on the menu. They also have a sign by the door that they're waiting for their alcohol license. read more

after reading Jessica W.'s review on FB. we came in on a Monday night around 6:30. the place is open and spacious, most tables were full with a few tables not cleaned yet. we got seated right away. we ordered Jajangmyeon 炸醬麵 and Jjamppong 炒碼麵. it took 10min for our jajangmyeon to come, then 1 of the waitress (who also serves as receptionist, we think is the owner) came to ask if everything is ok, we told her we're still waiting for our 2nd dish. waited another few minutes before we were finally served. Jajangmyeon 炸醬麵 sauce was sweeter than I'm familiar with but that makes it very appetizing. the sauce does have some pork pieces in it, but they do charge a few $ extra if you'd like to add more pork meat. there's also enough sauce to cover/mix into the noddles. Jjamppong 炒碼麵 had squid, mussels, pork and veggies. the soup had a little kick to it. very flavorful. I really like the chewy fresh noodles in both dish. there are many servers standing around, but some tables were still not cleaned (assuming the servers don't bus the tables) after we finished our meal. we finally saw 1 woman started cleaning the tables (not sure if she just came into work). At one point I inhaled some spicy soup and started coughing and needed more napkins, before I wave down one of the many waiters standing around, 1 of them already dropped off a stack of napkins for me. my husband said this guy must be the owner as the other waiters are younger. overall I like the food, price is average for the inflated market now. but at least we get a good fill of tasty food. the servers can be trained better and bus lady also need to be more efficient to keep the tables cleaned promptly. read more

I've been to a few Paik's locations in SoCal, and this is by far the best in terms of quality, portions and overall execution. This is a standalone restaurant with modern decor, as opposed to the typical food stall you'll find inside a grocery store. They're still very much in their opening month and clearly have some growing pains, so my review is entirely based on the quality of the dishes I ordered. I got the regular jjajangmyeon, meat jjajangmyeon, and sweet and sour pork. The regular jjajangmyeon was solid, but the meat jjajangmyeon was sooo good. I haven't seen many spots serve the pork like this; the pork was incredibly tender and flavorful. The noodles and sauce were honestly a solid 9/10. The sweet and sour pork was also close to perfect and exactly how I like it, with that potato starch batter fried to perfection. Nice and chewy on the outside, while the pork itself was tender and not dry at all. Overall, this will definitely be a local staple for me. Other dishes, like their iron plates and wings, equally looked amazinggg and I'm looking forward to trying more items on my next visit! Service was also attentive, and again, they're still working through some opening-month growing pains, so please give everyone some grace. Black bean noodles with pork = fire. Flavors as expected, having the pork with a slight smoky flavor ties the dish together. I did ask for more radish! Jamppong noodle texture 100%, soup flavor is as expected. Dumplings come out fresh , hot and crispy but I'd skip next time. I'd come back for the black bean noodles. Decor is simple, wide open space. I had been counting down the days ever since I saw the sign go up, and Paik's Noodle definitely lived up to the hype! Even though there was a bit of a wait because the restaurant was so busy, it was absolutely worth it. The interior is modern, stylish, and spotlessly clean--far more elegant than you'd expect from a franchise restaurant. We ordered the spicy seafood noodle soup (Jjamppong), black bean noodles (Jjajangmyeon), shrimp fried rice, fried dumplings, and sweet & sour pork, and every single dish was outstanding. The flavors were authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious. On top of the amazing food, the service was incredible and every staff member was warm, welcoming. Jang bong was reasonably priced and very good. Generous amount and came out piping hot. Not spicy at all, which I like. Service was attentive and came out rather fast. Noodles were nice and soft. Plenty of seafood in it as well. The place was very clean and new. We had waited months for Paik's noodle to open here, and finally got to come for the grand opening. The location has a beautiful interior, much larger than you would expect from the outside, with a number of simple but refined table settings, and a generally 'upscale' vibe and atmosphere. We ordered two Jjajangmyeon - one 'classic' version, and one with chili, and an order of the fried dumplings. For those completely unfamiliar with Jjajangmyeon, there's not much to say beyond that you should definitely try it. It's basically pork and fresh vegetables like zucchini and onion fried with a 'black-bean' paste (which gives it an earthiness and saltiness that is hard to describe but is very addicting!) poured on top of freshly-made noodles. The chili jjajangmyeon clearly had some chili oil mixed in, as well as thinly-sliced chili peppers (probably raw, non-pickled jalapeños.) The jjajangmyeon did not disappoint - the sauce was clearly very freshly made, the balance between vegetables, meat and black-bean paste was perfect, and it didn't have too much potato starch added to it to make it 'gloopy,' instead just sitting perfectly on the noodles. One fun discovery is that the vegetables were still quite crunchy and fresh-tasting, reminding me of a gan-jjajangmyeon in some ways...if you have ever tried to decide between a classic and a gan jjajang, this will really be perfect for you, because it really does get the best of both worlds. The chili jjajangmyeon had a nice mild spice - I definitely wouldn't describe it as 'spicy' so much as just adding some nice chili zest. The dumplings were quite good if not great - I prefer a delicate shell even on fried dumplings, and these were a bit thicker than my usual preference, but that could have been because they were hand-made, and are relatively large. The pork filling was very good, although perhaps a bit drier than it would be at a restaurant specializing in dumplings. The only recommendation I would make would be that, because the dumplings are quite thick, recommending soy sauce as a dipping sauce wasn't the best fit. I wished that I had something that would cut through a bit more, like a citrusy Ponzu or a vinegary Chogochujang, although that didn't keep me from enjoying them. Overall the service was great as well, as the wait staff and managers were very attentive and very friendly. We'll definitely come back, the sooner the better - the photos of the Jjamppong looked delicious! read more

Among the five Hong Kong spots I ate in California, it is the second most delicious after Irvine H mart food court Hong Kong half. Jjamppong's seafood was fresh and the amount was quite good. It opened at 11 o'clock, but I was told to come at 12 o'clock because it was under construction, so I waited for an hour. This is a bit disappointing. The meal came out late because it was the first customer, but the food came out quickly from the next customer. Jjamppong has a lot of traces of burning in the fire, but it didn't smell like a fire. But the soup was delicious. I don't just go to the bottom of the taste now, the seafood is fresh, and if you give me a lot, I think I'll be the first place in the jjamppong restaurant at Lee Dong-ne. !!!! Came on the first day and first to review!! Had the jajjangmyun and the jjambong. Just to be clear I love paiks noodle in Buena Park and had it growing up in LA downtown. My favorites. Jjangmyung was 8/10. Sweet. Maybe lacking sauce. Jjambong was a bit spicy. Vegetables were burnt a bit so I can taste the burnt. See picture. Soup was spicy but the noodle was good for jjambong. Jjangmyun noodle were bit tougher. Overall it's a sit down restaurant, not a take it and eat it place like I expected. Still good, will come back again. read more

I absolutely LOVE the food. I'm still yet to try some of the other items, but the Jajangmyeon, Sweet and Spicy/Garlic Soy chicken wings, the Sweet and Sour Pork, and the Jajang Rice are so delicious. Make sure you bring a friend! My friend and I love this spot for their portions and wonderful service. Overall, this Korean/Chinese joint is great, and I'd recommend it to those who like listening to K-Pop while eating some good noodles. read more

We waited over an HOUR for a togo jjamppong. We did a sit down order and asked for a togo jjamppong for later. The food initially for the sit down order came out fast. The noodles were a bit overcooked and soggy, but it was still pretty yummy. The sweet and sour pork was very cripsy. We checked in with our server at around 635-640 to make sure our togo order was getting started. We walked out at 7:45. Ridiculous. 1+ hour for a SINGLE bowl of jjamppong. I was so happy that Chino Hills finally had a jjajjang place. Won't be returning ever again. Will be heading towards YongMoonLu at Rowland Heights. The older lady seemed to avoid us entirely and did not even apologize for the long wait. Very unhappy. Honestly go somewhere else for the price, service, time, and taste. read more

I honestly don't understand how this place has so many 5-star reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. We visited around 5 PM, and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. There were only about 3-4 tables occupied, including ours. We ordered the Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and Sweet & Sour Pork. The Sweet & Sour Pork came out fairly quickly and actually tasted pretty good. It was probably the best dish we had. The only downside is that it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but at least the flavor was good. What I really don't understand is why the two noodle dishes took over 30 minutes to arrive. This is a restaurant that's supposedly known for Korean noodles, and with only a few tables occupied, I can't figure out why it would take that long to prepare such basic dishes. The service also needs significant improvement. The servers seemed disorganized and not very professional. It often felt like no one really knew what was going on. The biggest disappointment, however, was the Jajangmyeon. The shredded pork was incredibly dry which completely clashed with the smooth, rich black bean sauce. I honestly couldn't believe this was being served at a restaurant that promotes itself as a destination for authentic Korean Jajangmyeon. It was easily one of the most disappointing bowls of Jajangmyeon I've had. I'm guessing the restaurant may have only recently opened, so hopefully they'll make improvements over time. There is definitely potential, but based on this visit, I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

Had lunch here with my family on the 26th, looks like they just opened on the 20th so I'm not going to judge them too hard or low and perhaps update my review if they get better. However, the service here is SLOW! Dont get me wrong, the food is great, but wow the efficiency is ridiculously low here. They look to actually be overstaffed, but we didnt even get our order in for 10-15min! Servers were being busboys, clearing tables at the most leisurely, irritatingly slow pace, while they are telling people behind our party (thank God we came in when we did) that the wait will be 20min, 30min, 40min when the tables are empty, just not being cleaned up quickly when there is an army of workers! After giving up on getting a waiter to come to us naturally, we flagged one down and then waited another 5min to get helped....by a totally different server (the one we flagged down came back like 5-10min later). We asked for water and tea, and I can understand setting the tea cups one by one, but the water cups were empty and metal; can't you just stack them and put them down all at once? And if you're going to set them down, why do it so painstakingly slow?? Once I noticed how slow everything was, I decided to just order the same menu item for everyone to keep it simple; just 3 bowls of jjajangmyeon. If you go to any restaurant, and you order multiples of the same item, dont they all come out at the same time? Or if its like a big bowl of noodles, the server would bring it out one by one but like one after another at the same time, right? I dont know what their system was, but why bring out 1 bowl....5-6min apart?? I watched our server bring one bowl, walk a marathon across the whole restaurant, then come back with the 2nd, and repeat for the 3rd. Jeezus christ. So the food was good at least, quality was there, it better be after waiting 30+min for it! We asked for onions+sauce, and at least 1 lady server was lightning fast, probably a manager or something. But when we clearly had no more of the radish/onions, no one came to refill or ask, and we had to flag another server down. Got this guy's attention, but he walked away as I was talking to him...not the end of the world but not very professional or polite. Also, what kind of jjajangmyeon place doesnt have kimchi? Anyway, recommend takeout for this place (maybe order a million hours ahead lol) but sitting down and wasting time here not recommended unless you have the patience of a saint. Maybe give the place a year to stabilize and properly train their staff or hire competent ones because I dont know if I can handle the stress again. read more

We waited over 6 months for this location to open, and the food, service, and ambiance did not disappoint! Jajangmyeon noodles were perfectly chewy and the flavorful sauce was thick and chunky with meat and veggies. The jjamppong had a deep spice and bowl full of a variety of seafood, beautifully presented (see pic). The stuffing in the oversized crispy dumplings were made with my fave ingredients - no crunchy veggies - just meat, chives, and vermicelli noodle bits. YUM!! The tangsuyuk were light and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a sweet and savory sauce on the side so we could adjust to our taste. The restaurant itself is super clean and the service...truly the most courteous staff from the management to the servers!
