this place is my favorite din tai fung dupe near the IE. i used to come in person every week cus the xiao long bao were just THAT good but i got lazy and now i doordash from here every single sunday. pork chop fried rice - 10/10 the pork chop is a lil crispy and the meat is really clean and I'm usually super picky with meats string beans - 8/10 they were good but pretty basic nothing special pork xlb - 10000/10 i actually think their xlb is wayyy better than din tai fung and everything's cheaper too. there's way more soup and the skin is really thin. my only complaint is their vinegar is really light and they barely give any ginger so i usually have to ask for more. vegetable dumplings - 5/10 my mom ordered these and they were just whatever sweet n sour pork baby back ribs - 4/10 sorry these need work... the color was off and the meat was not enjoyable for me but maybe i'm just picky overall this place is amazing for a quick meal just wish they turned on their a/c more cus sometimes it's stuffy. the servers are all pretty nice and place is never busy. super affordable and amazing quality for xiao long baos!! read more

Jia Yan shares similarities of famous DTF in menu and some decor like the see thru window that shows chef making XLB or dumplings. Decor is traditional Chinese fast food. Service is very friendly. We order veggie udon (good), 10 pc pork XLB (good - wrap and ingredients not up to DTF level in my opinion), braised beef noodle soup (good, savory), pork chop fried rice (very good). Taste is on spot, pretty authentic. Portions is just enough for one adult for each dish. And overall vibe is couple steps down from DTF, first of all, restaurant is a bit too dark - decor is outdated. And maybe rethink about mixing bigger round tables and brighter, modern look. Food is solid. Price is competitive, but can use some promo as we have never heard of the restaurant. Maybe social media will help. read more

Pork XLB and Truffle & Pork XLB are excellent, arriving piping hot and packed with flavor. Yet delicate, the wrapping holds up well. We enjoyed braised beef noodle soup. The broth is so comforting and beef perfectly tender. Their fried rice with pork chop is great and crowd favorite. It paired nicely with the bok choy with garlic. I thought cucumber salad was okay. XLB here is truly authentic and tasty, very much resembles the ones you would find at DTF Taipei or HKG, and better than any DTF around SoCal IMHO, maybe even Dynasty Paradise. They have very thin skin that miraculously doesn't break, which is really difficult to find in US. And best of all it's so close to home! I came to this place with my mom to try their xiao long bao dumplings. Place recently opened and located near the 71 fwy in Pomona. We usually get their seaweed and beancurd salad ($6.49), hot and sour soup ($10.99), string beans with garlic ($14.99), chicken fried noodles ($14.49), and pork xiao long bao ($13.49). The xiao long bao is juicy and the dumpling skin is thin. The soup was fine, but we did like their string beans and chicken with noodles dishes. I give this place 4 stars because the soup dumplings satisfied my cravings but there was major drama in the kitchen today during lunch on Valentines Day. What could they be possibly yelling so loudly about where the customers began to noticed and grew quiet. Literally screaming at each other in Chinese back there. Our server was efficient and nice. Like another review mentioned, inside is clean and basic (or outdated) but that won't stop me from coming back. I'll be back. Going to Din Tai Fung is somewhat a trek from San Dimas. I also noticed a lot to go orders being made and picked up. The restaurant is spacious and there were a good amount of people eating there as well. None of the dishes I ordered were good. Would not recommend. The honey walnut shrimp was nasty. The pork xiao long bao did not come with any chili sauce to go and had no flavor. The pork in the spicy shrimp and pork wonton was sour so either it was sitting out too long or meat quality is very poor. The sliced chicken noodle soup is bland. *same post as my google* The food is amazing! I used to go to Thumbling as it was closest to Ding Tai Fung without the weeks wait for a reservation. But when I saw this place was finally opening near my house (opened last Friday 10/10), I had to try it. And let me tell you this, it's soooo good, prolly better than Thumbling. I never had the chance to try Ding Tai Fung, however this place gives you the closest to it as all the workers (including the chefs) worked at DTF! Yall have to try it as the food is amazing as has alot of options without pork (Muslim), so I was sooo happy to find Chicken XLB!!!!! Definitely going back and going to try their other items. I would only recommend they flavor the string beans more, however everything else was amazing ! forgot to take pics because I was so hungry and it all smelled so good. read more
