Driving on Foothill Blvd, Pho Viet Restaurant is easy to miss, as it's not visible from the road. To find it, I usually look for the Sharaton Hotel in the same shopping center. An elderly woman, with a smile from ear to ear, suggested we try the lemon grass beef spring rolls since they were out of the nem spring rolls. They came with two different kinds of dipping sauce, peanut dipping sauce and Nuoc cham (fish sauce dipping sauce). Good recommendations indeed.. 4++ great little neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant that feels family owned and operated. The people were kind and the menu is pretty extensive. They specialize in pho, but there were a lot of other items on the menu that you could order as well. I came in for lunch during the weekend and was able to get a seat right away. Stopped by for late lunch . The place was very spacious. Lots of tables and chairs. The server he was ok. We ordered pho soup with ox tail. The soup tasted good but the oxtail meat was so hard. It wasn't pressurized so it we have to asked for a knife to cut it. The spring rolls with shrimp and pork were ok. It tasted average. Came here for the first time with my family and I have to say we had a great experience. Food was delicious we had trouble only choosing one item, I ordered the chicken pho and beef spring rolls. I gave this place a chance because I was staying at the hotel next door and didn't feel like driving anywhere. I'm soooo glad I did! The wait staff are very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. I like that each table has hand sanitizer and wipes on them for guests to use. They have a big selection of dishes. Tonight I got the shrimp and garlic rice plate. I asked if the shrimp came with shells, which it did. I asked if it could be substituted with other shrimp where I didn't have to deal with unshelling the shrimp. They happily accommodated. It is a sit-down restaurant, and I am intrigued to try their food next time I'm in the area. Checked in and tried to claim free soda coupon from yelp. I showed the older woman serving us and she said "no that was old, many years ago" and was not going to grant the free soda coupon. This place has been in Rancho for awhile and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more hype. It's a mom and pop type of establishment that serves more than just the typical pho and rice dishes. They serve Vietnamese hot pot as well as a ton of specials that they posted all over the store. Portion sizes are good and prices are generally affordable. What amazing service very quiet and peaceful inside super inviting there's almost no one here. Prices are really good as well and the food was great. Two things I will say I wish I could give 4.5 star for the texture on the pho noodles not bad just a bit different than I'm used to and then the other would be some of the different cuts of beef were a bit less in quality, the meatballs are large and good flavor also the rare steak and the brisket were fine. I can't tell which cut it was but it was that was a bit tough. But no doubt we will definitely be back here again. I feel Like we found anpther hidden gem. I wanted some breakfast. I got a hi tieu wonton.. The noodles and the soup was okay. The flavor lacked a lot, I should have stuck to a bowl of pho instead. The wontons were the fried ones and they put them into the soup. I was disappointed with the wontons. They were weirdly textured on the outside, and the meat had a weird flavor... I've been to this place many times, and every visit to Code Ninjas Rancho Cucamonga on the same plaza always includes a stop here. This time, I came with two friends I hadn't seen in a while. The servers are typically young people, possibly family members, and the grandparents (I assume) handle the cooking. The service is always great for a family-run business, and it's a local mom-and-pop spot where you can always count on getting a table. During the summer, there's no AC, so expect to have fans on and it'll be a bit warm, but I personally don't mind -- I've eaten pho in the summer without AC before! My mom came here for a Pho and she said it was pretty good lol; It is Viet Mom approved :) - The Pho here is pretty expensive to what I am used to back in OC, $15 for a bowl of pho?? Usually it's less than $10-$12 for a large bowl (could feed 2 people large) in Garden Grove, but it is Rancho Cucamonga so I can reason with the price point. When I came here, the interior reminds me of how the Pho places in Garden Grove look like. It's comforting in its own way. However, the rest of the stuff on the menu was very disappointing. Beef hot pot/ Lau 2/5: We ordered Lau or Vietnamese hot pot and it was $40, they said it could feed 2-3 but it did not lol, we were still hungry after it. And the ingredients used did not equate to $40 worth. It was good nonetheless but it was not $40 good. We all agreed that, it's more worth to order 3-4 bowls of Pho instead of this atrocity. Anyways, the broth was great, very flavorful. It came with thin egg noodles, tendons, celery and bok choy. Ginger Chicken and Garlic Fried Rice $15 4/5: For $15, this is on the smaller size. I wouldn't say this is family style size. The garlic rice seems to be inconsistant with the dishes because the rice that came with this dish was a lot drier than the salmon steak. It was still very good tho, the chicken has.l sweet sour taste from the pickled daikon and carrots. Since we were still hungry, we ordered the salmon steak because the picture looked really appetizing. To our surprise it looked NOTHING like the picture on the menu. The picture made it look so juice and flavorful, what came out was FRIED salmon, which sucked the moisture away from the meat. Salmon Steak 2/5: it catfished us lol. So ya, the salmon came out fried with fish sauce dipping. It came with garlic fried rice, which was probably the best thing we got so far. It came with the same pickle carrots and daikon with a side of cucumbers and tomatoes. Probably not the best dish here. Just come here for the pho, more worth imo read more

Like the other reviews, the current waiter seems to be a little impatient with taking our order even with no one inside the restaurant. The food is ok; my party got pho and nem cuon. Pho was alright, we've had better. Nem cuon's flavor is lacking a bit in the spring rolls. I was hoping to not need the sauce with the spring rolls but the Nem cuon meat was somewhat flavorless. I stand by my previous reviews ( 7 yrs ago) that this place is probably best for their hot pot since this is the only place that offer "Vietnamese hot pot". Also dress light because there is no AC in the restaurant. Seems like they only have fans running inside. Keep that in mind when you order any soup. read more

Orange carrot smoothie me please!!! I was craving Vietnamese food after a long week and finally went to the large shoo next to one if my favorite boba spots in Rancho. The restaurant reminds me of a food court and it smells incredible (yes, even the restroom) and the service was homely. The elderly man working the register was so happy to sit and chat with patrons and was amazing at making drinks. I had seen the busboy clean various tables 3 times while I had dined so they're above well on their sanitation which I love. The food, my favorite part! I loved the price and portion sizes as well as the immense flavor the vegetarian dish I ordered had. Usually when I order tofu at a restaurant, it never has a pleasant texture and taste, it's always a compromise of one or the other. Here, they do tofu extremely well. We stopped for lunch and had the chicken curry special and the #44 Pho with rare steak and brisket, Hot jasmine tea and iced Vietnamese coffee. pho broth could be a little more complex in the flavor profile but still a great bowl. Curry was just like homemade with lemongrass and a gentle flavor. Coffee was excellent French roast but perhaps of little too much ice; the tea hit the spot. When we asked if the rolls were received were vegetarian they went to check. We ate are entire dinner before they finished checking. We finely asked to cancel the rolls. There were about 10 guests inside of the maximum room capacity of 108 people during lunchtime but a lack of staff to serve. We waited about 20 minutes. Thai tea boba didn't even taste like Thai tea. This place is abysmal. if you're used to good pho places, this will truly be a disappointing experience. the restaurant smells of some odd odor. The fact that they decorate the restaurant with dusty plastic fruit shows how much care they put into this place. The pho broth is extremely greasy with a lack of flavor. They are stingy on the bean sprouts and chiles. Even the noodles they've kept at a minimum. You'd think that with the cheap decor, the pho would be for the budget minded. Wrong. Almost everything is at minimum $10. They also have a ton of dishes $15+. I know this is next to a hotel but their price range is unreasonable given the quality.
