Very good food! Their food is so spicy and they give a good quantity of food! My #1 spot for Friday nights when I don't feel like cooking

I used to really enjoy this restaurant when I lived in Federal Way. My wife and I ate here often, sometimes more than once a week, and I recommended it to family, friends, and co-workers. We especially enjoyed the crawfish boil. One weekend, I ordered a crawfish boil to go, and my wife and I were eating it while watching a football game. During the meal, we found a small coiled piece of metal inside one of the crawfish. We thankfully noticed it before swallowing. I took a photo and brought it to the owner's attention. She spoke with the cook in Vietnamese, and I understood them say that the metal came from the wire brush they used to clean the crawfish. The owner told me the same thing. I wasn't asking for anything. I simply wanted them to know because it was a serious food safety issue. I was surprised that I didn't receive an apology or any reassurance that they would address the problem. I gave the restaurant another chance and returned a few more times, but things never felt the same. On one visit, the owner and her mother discussed the incident while looking at me, which made me feel uncomfortable for bringing up a legitimate concern. I wasn't trying to cause trouble, just hoping to help prevent something like that from happening to someone else. While the food can be good, because of both the food safety issue and how it was handled, I can no longer recommend this place. read more

My family and I went in when it just opened so we were seated quickly. The owner was accommodating with our request for hot water for our dad and making sure we have an open spot for a wheelchair. We got the chicken pho, gumbo, smother catfish in etouffee sauce, and fry basket with catfish. I got the baked mussels and etouffee for myself. My dad love the pho and ate everything and enjoyed most of the catfish fry basket. My siblings enjoyed their meal. Although the gumbo looks a little watery for what it should be but my sister said it was delicious and not spicy. The etouffee was good and spicy. It was a fairly thick sauce with loads of crawfish and rice. The baked mussels were definitely fishy for my taste so assumed they were frozen and thawed out for cooking. read more

Delicious!!! Husband wanted pho for lunch and I wanted something else... this was a perfect compromise and the food was good. Really good. The place had a good stream of customers and was clean and staff were nice and patient. I've visited this location twice, once with my boyfriend and today with my mother. I also have ordered take out here several times too. So this review is a combination of my experiences in terms of consistency of the food, service and the differences between take out and dine in orders. The gumbo is definitely better in person, although they did forget my order and I think they gave me a larger portion for the inconvenience (going off of other pictures that reviewers submitted and from my previous take out experience). I definitely agree that there should be more spice to it and I added some of the fresh jalapeño from the plate my mom received from her pho which perfectly added the spice that I was looking for. The gumbo is pretty generous in terms of all the meats and vegetables included with it. However, if you order take out then the rice amount they give is very small compared to dining in. The pho here is pretty decent for the pricing as I believe it is the second cheapest place to get pho in Federal Way (Pho Trang being number one). I appreciate that they let you choose your meat and not take up more menu space with different combinations, which often don't include some preferences. My mom ordered tendon and brisket but they forgot the tendon, but brought it out with soup which was appreciated greatly. I have had the cajun pho and it was pretty good with generous portions of the toppings included. The boils here are pretty good, they have a great sauce that goes with it and the prices are pretty fair in comparison to other boils. I have tried their mild and medium so far and they hit each note perfectly, I have yet to try the spicy but I do want to in the future. I also have ordered their vermicelli noodles, springs rolls, and cajun fried rice which are all great as well! I love the crispy roll in the springs rolls and they do not skimp out on the shrimp. The service here can be a hit or miss. When I visited with my mother, the server even admitted that she was doing terrible and jokingly blamed her friend (which I don't mind if you're catching up) but she never came out to check in on us or other patrons and only got up when we walked up to the counter which is where you pay for you meal once you finish. She even confesses that her husband is a better worker. I have to agree with that as when I visited with my boyfriend, the gentleman who served us and was the cashier was friendly and efficient. The interior of the restaurant is nice, however I do think they should consider some remodeling as the booth seats are worn and had rips. I do think that power towels being offered at each booth is nice especially for those going for the boils. Overall, it is definitely a mixed review as the service can bit a hit or miss, the interior could definitely get some updates, and the food quantity is definitely better for dining in. read more

Last meal of our trip was at Crazy Pho Cajun, a family run Vietnamese spot that specializes in Viet-Cajun cuisine. They're located in a plaza next door to ATI Physical Therapy. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (2:00pm) with NFL streaming on the TV. The inside has plenty of seating and food comes out quickly. Menu consists of appetizers, pho, banh mi, teriyaki, fried rice, bun, rice plate, cajun and cajun boiled seafood (by the pound). - Herbs - bean sprouts, basil and lime wedges. - Cajun pho (P5) ($14.95 USD) - andouille sausage, crawfish and shrimp. We opted for medium spicyness. Broth had a subtle heat with a touch of sweetness. Mix of meats were tasty. - Gumbo ($13.95 USD) - delicious, comforting stew that wasn't heavy. I've gotten a few things off their menu. Some I like, some not so much. Fried rice - the rice felt a bit undercooked and hard. The dish was overall too salty for my liking. I ended up taking my leftovers home and soaked the beef pieces in water to calm down the saltiness. Maybe it was an off day, but that was my one experience and I haven't ordered it yet since. Pork bahn mi - recommend! I love the texture and fluffiness of the baguette, and the flavor balance is overall good. It's a casual dinning spot run by the owners. Don't expect them to read your mind. If you want something, ask for it. Be specific. The cuisine itself are two very distinct, unique flavors that complement each other very well. We had the cajun bombs, Cajun Bah Mi, Beef Bah Mi and the Cajun pho. The Cajun bombs are similar to a beloved fried wonton but its uniqueness of Cajun flavor is new and distinctive. Our Bah Mi's were perfection. The chicken gizzards were a bit too greasy but they tasted good and the pho broth was delicious. I didn't really like the noodles for some reason they were kind of chewy. The fries were nice and crispy and so were the chicken wings. My boyfriend also got the Po' boy sandwich which he says was good!! All in all the food was decent! I remember going to this place many, many years ago. Before I was on yelp even. I recall it being great and I had wanted to go back but just never got around to it. Well, we finally made it back recently and boy, not anything I remember. In fact, just kind of meh. A patient mentioned this place several times to me and finally decided to drive out to try. Long story short, I AM GLAD I DROVE OUT TO THIS RESTAURANT. I love pho and by far the Cajun twist to pho was EXCELLENT! Just the right amount of spice to enjoy the flavor and at the same time get a "detox". Lol also the environment and customer service was super chill yet attentive to what the customer needed (felt like I was going home for dinner). This place has the unique version of cajun style pho. I really like it. I also have tried their broiled style crawfish too. 2lbs minimum and I still finished it. They don't really have different type of flavors to choose from but it is still really good. Food was disappointing as well I got a extra spicy large Cajun pho with no shrimp; there was barely any crawfish even though I didn't get shrimp. The broth had barely any spice or Cajun flavor, my partner got the Cajun rice plate it was okay it had decent flavor but the portion was pretty small.
