smaller size beef pho (big size in the back)
    Jane L.

I had passed by this place for what seems like my whole life (as a regular customer of Hmart, you can't miss it - it's right across the street). A family friend finally told us it's worth trying out so we ventured inside for once and was pleasantly surprised to find such a homey atmosphere. It has a small mom-and-pop shop feel, which is exactly what you want from a pho shop. I thought the broth was flavorful, the soup was hot enough, and there was really nothing else I could want from this meal. Also became a fan of the owner's no-nonsense style - he won't be overly friendly but he'll take care of ya. Glad to have finally found a pho spot we can frequent closer to home!

Steak, brisket and meatball with Uncook noodles Togo
    Nancy N.

It's a rainy cold day in Seattle so I decided to grab some pho Togo for me and my daughter for lunch. Reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I tried to called in my order for Togo but no one answered. So I drove to the restaurant only 1 person was working that the moment. Her service was friendly the restaurant is small, cozy and clean. The pho I got was steak, brisket with meatball and a side of egg rolls. The pho broth is decent compare to other spots in the area. Could use a bit more sodium or pho seasoning to bring that aroma smell but not everyone prefer more sodium. The steak was Cut thin and pretty tender which is good compare to a lot of other pho spot I've tried. The egg rolls is pretty good my filling seems to be a tiny tiny pink so I'm not sure if it was a bit un-fried but the taste is good. Overall this place is good I would order again.

I asked what was in the Special Pho; she said 'everything'. Fried tofu, about 1Tbs sweet/sour sauce.

Regular size Special Pho was very large & tasty, nice & hot. Fried tofu was Bla, Server, I think owner was very pleasant Outter appearance may turn folks off; it''s very unappealing, so it was a pleasant surprise to find the interior very nice & clean. Pho came out quickly but no one in sight for quite a LONG time to get water refill. I would return.

We had an early dinner yesterday and had such a great experience, from the kind owner, who ran the whole place by herself during that time, to the food, to the cleanliness. Everything was fresh. The place is clean from kitchen to dining area to the restroom. The food was delicious, but we were in such a rush that I forgot to take photos of the food we ordered: grilled pork banh mi, bun bo hue, and kids pho with tofu. The tofu seemed freshly made. Everything was delicious! The prices were reasonable and affordable. We will surely be back to try other dishes as well.

Located in Federal Way, this small Vietnamese restaurant has relatively ample parking and shares it with businesses like Yi's Traditional Korean Beef Soup. I went here with a friend on a Friday night and got seated really fast as there wasn't many people. There's a relatively small number of tables inside and it is slightly cramped. But service was prompt and fast, and so were the dishes my friend and I ordered. I got the regular com tam, which had a grilled pork chop, an egg omelette, shredded pig skin and broken rice. The portion was small, but it was worth it for the price I paid for it compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to, even those not around Federal Way. On top of that, I loved the flavoring on their meats and was very satisfied! I later got a side of egg rolls, which came out piping hot and fresh. Great place for a quick meal, and this was something I randomly found when not knowing what to eat too. Definitely recommend this place!

I am always looking for good pho places as it's one of my favorite food. Of the many pho places I've been, I consider this place one of best pho anywhere! It is a no-frill mom and pop place. The broth is flavorful and the quality is always consistent. I always get their house pho. For the quantity and the quality, $15 is well worth it. The pho always comes out piping hot, just perfect for the usual rainy chilly weather here.

All the way from Cali, went to try this spot with a couple of friends. This spot is better than any spot in Sacramento and trust me there's a whole lot of viet representation. I recommend the bun Bo hue, it's mf gas. See you next year, love the food.

One of my go to spots when I'm in the area. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Their pho is decently priced and well portioned, meat is tender and fresh, and broth has great flavor.Their bread for the bahn-mi is perfect and I've always been satisfied with all their other menu items. It is a small family owned shop, so service can be a bit slow when it's busy but it's always worth the stop especially on a cold rainy day.

Comforting local spot that has great prices. A large pho is $12.50, not including tax. They have one of the better broths that I've tried at an amazing customer friendly price. The broth has a deeper beef flavor with hints of the toasted spices. They are always so friendly and quick. I find myself going back and supporting a local restaurant who have the customers best interest in mind. There are many more of their dishes I'd love to try. Parking also available

First time here & food was amazing. Their Pho broth was very flavorful. Their broken short rib plate was my favorite, the beef was marinated very well and the flavors were coming through. The spring rolls were good, it came with the pork ham which I opted out of but they still put it in there but it's fine, it tasted fresh. This is a mom & pop shop, so service was a bit slow but it was fine to me, food was made fresh and everything tasted wonderful. The space is very small, so they had limited tables probably about 8 tables, seating 4 to a table. We went when it wasn't busy so we got a table right away. Prices are very reasonable and affordable, so I will definitely be going back to try other items on their menu.

    #29 Trang's Special Vermicelli Bowl
    Maggie L.

My go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Federal Way. The ambience is casual, great for a quick meal. There is almost never a wait. Get the #29 Trang's Special, which comes with so much toppings, spring roll, beef wrap, shrimp with sugar cane and a ton of grilled pork. The Bun Bo Hue and pho are decent too, and so is the banh mi. The owner is super nice, and makes the best food.

    Eggrolls, just $4!

I put in a simple order for my son & I. My son's pho & side of rice came out within 10-15 minutes. I waited for our spring rolls & my vermicelli bowl well after my son had started eating. I asked about my food just before 7pm to which I was told it was still being worked on. I paid my tab then asked a short time later that I'd like the remaining food to go. At 7:15pm I went up to the register to request a refund for the items I never received. I was asked if I had paid my bill (by the same young lady that took my payment). I handed her my receipt & she informed me that my food had been ready. It's unclear why, it was never brought out. I had told her that we had been waiting for an extended period of time to which she agreed. I pointed out that another two person table, that arrived after us, had been served their food before us. The young lady plainly told me that it was out of her control since there were new people in the back. No apology just an excuse. No one took responsibility for the disorganization in the back. I again requested a refund only to hear that she didn't know how to do a refund. I'm the end, I was given the cash for the two items minus the taxes. I've been to this establishment in the past & never have I experienced this type of situation. Hopefully, it was just a one off because they have excellent food. For now, I have no desire to return

Since it was late, the place had several tables filled but wasn't a full house. There's tons of tables for groups of 2+ people, and I got seated immediately. Inside is brightly lit and very casual. With all my usual first visits to Vietnamese restaurants, I got their Thai tea and their grilled beef short ribs rice plate. That tea was standard and took a little while to prepare since staff had a bunch other delivery orders to fill throughout the night. The rice plate itself was tasty; the grilled beef short ribs looked burnt but still tasted as if they had all the seasoning as I like, and the meat still pulled off the bone easily, so it definitely wasn't overcooked. The rest of the plate is very standard but satisfying in my books. It was also quite nice chatting with the staff a little bit too on some of the dishes. This is a place I'd recommend for some good food, and they're also open slightly later compared to most other places around their vicinity, so it's also a decent choice for if you want foods little later than usual. Really happy this place gets constant traction, and I will be recommending here to my friends!

They have probably…read moreone of the most chaotic and confusing menus I've ever seen, but they serve some really excellent food. Walking in for a Saturday lunch into this establishment, the entire restaurant smelled like sizzling meat and aromatic herbs. This was a little past noon and most of the staff were in the back taking their lunch break. There was only a single guy in front managing everything. We placed our order at the counter and were given an estimate of 20 minutes for the food. It took exactly 20 minutes, and he even gave us a 2 minute warning when it was almost ready. #4 Combo ($28.99) - This is a huge portion, easily enough for two people. In fact, this was the only thing we ordered (they had run out of the other item we wanted) and we finished only around 75% of the meal. The plate includes an entire mound of rice under all the meat. The photos of this dish are deceptive - the meat on top hides what's underneath. It's actually an appropriate amount given all the protein, a far cry from other places that only give a small bowl of rice. The rice is fried until dry and leathery, sticking together into larger chewy structures. It's actually an excellent texture for this dish. And the flavor is phenomenal, giving the fragrance of herbs, ginger, garlic, and other spices. In terms of meat, the dish includes two Kroeung meatball that taste of lemongrass and aromatic herbs. There's crunchy garlic stuck to the outside and everything is pan fried until a crust develops from the great sear and char. The inside is so meaty, with lots of whole pieces of meat rather than ground. It gives a burst of fragrant umami. There's a chicken wing, stuffed with vermicelli and shredded chicken meat. Again, it has a very fragrant and lemongrassy flavor. The chicken skin pulled along the stuffing gives an extra oomph of texture. Finally, there's an entire chicken leg/thigh quarter. It's so good, one of the best chicken quarters I've ever eaten. I especially love the scoring on the skin of the thigh that allows the pan sear to really develop an extra crusty layer from the additional surface area. The chicken meat interior is so tender and juicy and gives such an amazing coconut enhanced flavor, full of umami. The chicken fat and skin gives that crispy fattiness that enhances the chicken to the max. Now that's how to cook chicken! On the side are some spicy and crunchy daikon pickles mixed with some mint. Also, a fragrant and really spicy minced pepper mixture that gives an instant fresh burn. It's not smoky at all. (5/5) Everything Theary Cambodian Foods serves is a flavor bomb right to the gullet. Delicious, delicious, delicious food. Too bad it's so far away from me, otherwise I'd be a regular.
