I also enjoyed a lemonade and it was tasty and sweet! It's not overly glamorous inside but clean with a lot of seating. We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday and by the time we left st 6:45 it was a packed house.

While I'm very much still living the quarantine life, the last few months I have been more thankful than ever for the many wonderful local restaurants we have here in Atlanta. I've been able to still patron a number of them through takeout or delivery and decided takeout Yelp reviews are just as helpful right now (maybe more so) as those based on a dine-in experience, so here we go! Ordered lunch for delivery from Pho King Midtown via Postmates during a busy weekday when I was craving Vietnamese food. Ordered a few favorites: Fried Egg Rolls (3 in an order, $4.35), Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (grilled pork served over rice vermicelli noodles plus egg roll, $11.50), and the Com Chien Bo Luc Lac (marinated tenderloin beef chunks served over fried rice, $13.35). As soon as I placed the order, my food seemed to immediately get processed, and was ready in ~15-20 minutes for delivery. Score! Took maybe another 20 minutes for my Postmates driver to deliver the meal, but it was worth the wait! The food was still very hot and fresh when it arrived and everything was well packaged to avoid spills. Also, I have to say it was even so nicely arranged too. Usually, I expect my takeout to be half dumped to one side like it was taken on a roller coaster before arriving, but the meal was picture perfect (see picture). Kudos to the delivery driver also. Down to the good stuff: how did it taste? The Bo Luc Lac (fun fact: this basically translates to "Shaking Beef" in Vietnamese, referring to the way it is cooked quickly or "shaken" in a hot pan) was hands down my favorite item in my order! The meat was so tender and flavorful. The Bun Thit Nuong was also quite good, as were the egg rolls (nothing special but still tasty), but if you're a fan of beef dishes, the Bo Luc Lac was a winner! As a review of my to-go order, I have zero complaints and actually several compliments for Pho King Midtown. Everything was great. I will definitely be ordering takeout from them again soon and hopefully will be able to visit in person once things are a little more normal! As a caveat, the prices are going to be a tad higher than what you might find off Buford Highway, but for the convenience of having good, authentic Vietnamese food in Midtown, I'm okay with that! We arrived at 5pm and sat at a 4 people table and the older waiter came up to us and threw a fit for sitting at a 4 seat table when there was only 2 of us. When they moved us to a 2 person table, they sat 2 people at the 4 seat table. All that only to seat 2 people at the table? It was stupid. Vietnamese restaurants are quite plentful along the Chamblee to Duluth corridor, but... the pickings get thinner and thinner the further south you venture. So the grand opening of a Vietnamese restaurant, serving pho, banh mi, vermicelli, and rice dishes, in the heart of Midtown is a cause for joy. The fact that they also serve truly delicious frozen bubble tea as well... is a cause for jubilation. Tofu banh mi is out of this world. The teriyaki marinade really perks up the tofu perfectly, which is cooked, not fried. Also enjoyed the shrimp rolls with peanut sauce. I got both for lunch, but it was too much good. Next time I'll get one or the other. read more

Literally took the kitchen no more than 15 mins to prep our food. When the same girl out front had our food ready, she just yelled out our number with no apologies for the now 45 mins delay. Someone from the kitchen must've heard or seen what happened and they apologized, but this was not a good way to treat your customers. I've worked at restaurants and this is just a big no no!

The design and colors really make it stand out among so many stalls in such a busy area. I enjoy Vietnamese food, especially banh mi, so I'm always trying to find a new delicious version around the city. There are a number of varieties available on the menu, which is cool but sometimes a bit overwhelming. The times that I've visited, I've gotten all twisted up trying to remember what the OG banh mi sandwiches I've had in the past include and taste like. I'm always up for trying something new but I just like to prepared (my taste buds too). So each time I've gone I've tried something new but I think I just may be caught up in what I've previously had and tasted. On my last visit I ordered the brisket banh mi and it was good but I was still looking for something else in the flavor. Maybe it's me? One day I'll find my perfect order but I'll wait a bit to back and find out what that may be.
