Even though the menu didn't list the clear glass noodles for hu tieu, I asked if I could have my hu tieu bowl with glass noodles instead of rice noodles and it was no problem. My kids split a plate of the com thit nuong and I added a fried egg on it for them. The grilled pork was delicious. Hands down, this is my go-to place for pho! Just a nice big bowl of flavorful awesomeness with all the trimmings of sprouts, jalapenos, and basil on the side. This is the only place I've found here in Portland that I didn't actually have to add anything to the food, just perfect as it is and ALWAYS consistent. Me and my wife come here 2-3 times a month and never a complaint yet. I can't say that I've eaten anything else here but the pho. My wife usually gets the Ca Kho To which is fish stewed in claypot with steam rice. Me, I'm not a big fish eater but I did try it and it was actually pretty good. It could have been so much better. I ordered a bowl of pho chin nam and some chicken satay online. I have been under the weather and I was hoping some soup would cheer me up. I drove to the restaurant at the recommended time, but they hadn't received my order. Okay, I guess I'll wait a little longer. The female at the counter who greeted me was very nice; the guy she passed me off to was so-so. Didn't seem very interested in being there. Eventually, I got my food, went home, and started to assemble the soup. Pho chin nam is lean brisket. What I got was about 25% meat and 75% fat and veins. It was awful. I picked out what I could for the soup and ate it. The broth wasn't too bad. Was it better the second time? That's right, it all came back up around 3 a.m....just a little bit ago. I've tried to give this place chance after chance after many of their mistakes, since the Pho is pretty good but today was the end of my visits here. There are so many pho places in and around Portland, but not all of them are worth return trips. I was in the NE area to meet someone and decided to grab myself lunch beforehand. Pho Corner was only about 6 blocks up from where I needed to be (Case Study Coffee) and I have been having major jonesings for good pho, so off I went! Not disappointed. I can't remember which pho bowl I ordered, but it had tripe and strips of beef. So good. The service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere wasn't bad. The price was good for the large bowl and I was nice and stuffed. I know the soup isn't super healthy to drink from, but I had no restraint and drank about 2/3 the bowl of soup. MmmMm. Ordered takeout today because my girlfriend isn't feeling well. When I got home and unwrapped the to go boxes, all of the parts of the dish were separate and the meat came raw ; I'm assuming it's supposed to cook in the broth, but the broth isn't hot enough to cook the thin sliced beef. I'm kind of a pho novice, so this whole experience has been confusing and intimidating, and honestly I'm kind of scared of food poisoning from cross contamination. I'd recommend throwing a "how to" slip in each to go bag so people don't mess it up, like I assume I just have. And some assurance about the raw beef that's in the container. This was a nice find. After trying to find another pho place, I Google searched and came up with Pho Corner. It had good ratings, so I thought we would give it a try. Although the outside looked a little shabby, when you go inside out is warm and friendly. The staff were very nice and helpful. Food was great and lots of variety! Comfort food that did not let us down. As soon as we got in town late in the afternoon we headed for Trader Joe's to stock up on our TJ favorites that we have no access to in Hawaii. We spotted this place about 8pm and turned in to park. Pho: My wife ordered the beef combo pho and really liked the broth. At $8.50 for the large it was a good value. It was slightly different from the style that we are used to at our local pho shop but she preferred this. I had the stir fried tofu with lemon grass on rice. I watched Other Mike's order sit in a bag for 15 minutes while my order was being "remade." Other MIke shows up with a torn bag that he had taken home and opened. What's the best time to get Pho? Thanksgiving morning, DUH! I highly recommend Pho for breakfast and Pho Corner is open 7 days a week from 9 AM on. You just think about that the next time you enter hour 2 of your brunch wait at Tin Shed or Screen Door, k? The staff at Pho Corner are so sweet and friendly. We were the first people to show up and they kindly sat us and put music on for us. The ambiance is nicer than your average Pho restaurant-- no harsh lighting or semi-depressing atmosphere here. Their house special combination Pho has top round steak, flank, lean brisket, tendon, tripe, beef meat balls and egg. Small bowls are $7.50 and large bowls are $9.95. The broth is tasty and full of flavor on its own, but obviously improves with giant squeezes of sriracha and hoison sauce. This stuff is completely delicious paired with an avocado shake or Thai iced tea, which are made perfect and not sickeningly sweet. I know it's different to think about Pho for breakfast, especially on Thanksgiving morning, but give it a whirl. We were pretty darn happy about this decision. read more

Asked the waittress if they use MSG and she said yes that they add it when making the broth, but she said it wasent a lot and that they wouldnt add any more. The broth in our pho didnt have any flavour tasted like hot water. Their was a good assortmrnt of vegetables and they gave us a full plate of bean sprouts, basil, chilli jalapeno and lime. I added some of the peanut sauce and some chilli paste to my pho just to give it some flavour plain hot water is not what i was expecting. The shrimp summer rolls were fine the peanut dipping sauce was ok. The sauce was lacking any real peanut. It wasnt bad but ive had a lot better.
