Simple location with a simple menu that has all that you need for a great Vietnamese meal. Order at the counter, pick your seat, you get served in just a few minutes. Great taste to the Pho broth. Fun little place to have a good meal and conversation.

Absolute hug in a bowl! Usually I love eating pho in cold and rainy days but I'm so glad to have tried this place out during the peak summer season. The ambience inside is very cozy and quaint, tucked away in the corner of the street so it might be easy to miss. The owner greeted us and we paid at the counter before we sat down. The menu is small but has everything you need - even a vegan pho! There's a shelf with a bunch of utensils/sauces/bowls/etc. you grab yourself before the pho comes out. The pho came out fast and the quality was amazing! Good amount of meat and the broth was one of the tastiest I've had. I cant wait to come back again!!

I just love Thom so much! My favorite soup here is the curry noodle but anything you order will be a favorite! The menu is small and perfect. The soups are huge and warm and delicious. It's a small restaurant for dining but but comfortable. They have saki, beer and snacks too. I've been twice and will go back many times more. 10/10

Good Pho in a small restaurant. No frills ordering at the counter, self serve condiments and water.

Good little quiet pho spot. I'm no pho connoisseur but I like it here, tastes very good, I liked the Beef Pho even though it didn't have tripe or tendon. See a lot of complaints about the portion size here but I think it's a great portion. I would much rather pay under $20 for a bowl of pho I can finish and feel comfortably full from instead of paying more for a stomach splitting amount. I also tried the Com Ga (chicken & rice) which was a huge portion of chicken indeed. It was pretty good, tender well cooked chicken but the flavor was a little one note, I got a bit bored of it halfway thru. It's a small place with about 4 or 5 tables stuffed into the living room of a house. Counter service order up front. Not good for groups, largest table seats 4. I would come back to try the Dads Grilled Pork & maybe their vegetable pho too I've heard good things about.

Good bowl of pho but I wouldn't drive 40 min again for it. Service was quick and friendly. Cute small hole in the wall. Maybe I should have ordered something else on the menu or it was an off day but I would say I prefer Pho Oregon. They did say they were out of limes due to a missed shipment. The limited menu reminds me fondly of Ha Vl and Rose Vl. If I'm in the area again I definitely would come back for more of the menu items or specials!

Finally found our go to pho spot that isn't a far drive for us! This place is really small so if you're going in a group I suggest you get there right at opening or be prepared to wait. Our party of two got the last table around 5:30pm on a Saturday and we saw countless people come after and quoted 30-40 min for a wait. I think there may have only been one or two people working because the man in the kitchen came out to take our order then went back to get our food. Despite this, service was not bad at all and it wasn't long until we got our food. Pho bo was on point, deliciously aromatic and light. Curious to try the pho ga or bo kho next time!

So delicious! One of the best broths out there! The meat is tender and the veggies are always fresh. The owner is so nice and welcoming.

My friend and I both got the Pho Bo (beef pho soup), recommended by the gentleman working there. The broth was rich and flavorful, one of the best ones I've tasted in a while. The portion was perfect, and they gave us a generous amount of sides (bean sprouts, mint, limes). It's a smaller, cozy restaurant. I recommend!

The neon lights and vibrant atmosphere are a total dopamine boost, especially after a night out! I hadn't been back since their post-COVID renovation, and I was so impressed! The food is just as good as I remembered, and the ordering process is much smoother now. They have a dedicated pickup area for to-go orders, and dining in is quick and efficient, even when there's a line. I usually order the pho, but this visit I tried the lemongrass chicken over rice, and it was fantastic. The decor is fun, the service is streamlined, and the food will leave you feeling full and happy. If you're ending the night in downtown Portland, Luc Lac is the perfect late-night stop!

With that being said, I do think that the food could use a bit more work. The restaurant is called Luc Lac, and so naturally I ordered their namesake dish. The beef was not very tender or juicy and the flavors overall seemed to be lacking. Portion sizes, however, are very generous, so I'll give them that. I tried the Durian Horchata and sadly could not taste any durian flavor. I know that durian can be an acquired taste (and smell), but the drink just tasted like a regular horchata with some hints of pandan. Maybe I will return to try their cocktails.

The egg noodle bowl on the top with fried chicken and tofu was phenomenal. The chicken was similar to fish sauce wings and the tofu was very caramelized and had a nice salty coating of sauce. An order of spring rolls were also ordered, but wasn't in the photo. It was ordered with crispy pork belly. Based on some reviews, I was skeptical about ordering the pork belly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The skin was very crispy and you could hear the crunch from across the restaurant. The restaurant is very open with big windows, but I liked the concept of the open kitchen look. The service was really good. Downtown Portland's hidden gem for authentic Vietnamese!…read more I was walking around downtown Portland and stumbled upon Cuốn Vietnamese Street Food, and honestly, it was the best meal of my week . If you are looking for fresh, flavorful, and satisfying comfort food, do not walk--run to this spot. To get the full experience, we ordered a variety, and every single item was a hit. We started with the Beef Pho, and the broth was the absolute star. It was rich, aromatic, and deeply savory, clearly simmered for hours. It was the perfect dish on a sunny Portland day. We also grabbed a Chicken Banh Mi. The bread had that perfect crispy crust with a soft, airy crumb, and the chicken was grilled to perfection with fresh veggies and herbs. Of course, we had to wash it all down with a creamy, sweet Thai Tea--it was delicious and the perfect end to the meal. Beyond the food, the vibe is great. It's a super clean, casual spot with big windows letting in lots of natural light. It's set up for quick counter service, which makes it perfect for a fast lunch downtown, but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you feel right at home. It's a family-run business, and you can taste the passion in the food. Highlights: · The Pho Broth: Seriously some of the best in the city. · The Banh Mi: Fresh bread, great fillings. · The Service: Fast, efficient, and incredibly kind. Pro Tip: Don't forget to grab your own utensils and sauces (the chili crisp is a must for the pho), and help yourself to the free self-serve hot tea. It's the little touches like that which make this place a winner. I am already planning my next trip back to try the Crispy Pork Belly. Highly recommend

Positives: fresh, well made, very flavorful proteins. Cons:…read morePrice I tried Cuon for the first time and enjoyed it. I went for a Vermicelli bowl where you get to pick 2 proteins. I selected Pork Belly (their specialty) and lemongrass chicken. The bowl itself is standard Vietnamese fare, nothing special, creative or exciting in that sense. That said, the ingredients tasted fresh and the proteins were very well seasoned and cooked. The pork belly skin had an awesome crunch and you can clearly taste the lemongrass in the chicken. The included spring roll had nice crunch but little flavor. Unfortunately, outside of Pho, Banh Mi and Noodle Bowls, there's sadly not much else to the menu. No Vietnamese salads, stir frys, etc. Either way, what they do make, they seem to make quite well. So, on to my main issue ie, that for a place thats only open for lunch, the prices are a bit too high. I noted about $16 for a Banh Mi sandwich, no sides. Pho was around $20 and my noodle bowl was about $20 as well. Weirdly, its about the same prices as eating lunch back home in Miami, a FAR more expensive city in general. In fact, I've often had more exciting Vietnamese in Manhattan for lower prices. So while its easy to recommend Cuon on quality, its not a top recommendation for lunch value in the PDX which is why Im docking 1 star.
