My husband and I have been longtime customers. The noodle bowls continue to be delicious. However, there's been some recent changes that make our experience less enjoyable at Pho Lan. First, you have to order at the counter with the menu displayed on a tv screen mounted on the wall. The sit down service from the past was more welcoming and gave you the chance to go through the menu without feeling rushed by people waiting in line after you. Second, you can only get bottled sodas. No refillable fountain sodas. Third, the prices have gone up considerably. We paid $30 for 2 noodle bowls and 2 20 oz Diet Cokes. We used to pay $24 for the 2 noodle bowls plus refills of sodas which included more customer service. It's disappointing. read more

First time coming here. Read all the Yelp reviews to be prepared. They have a sign on the door telling you that their ordering counter is around the corner. Very friendly cashier. Easy to figure out menu. We both got pho and it was very good! The medium size had a ton, I took half home for later. We then got a lunch special and boba tea to go. Went today for lunch. Service was slow. I ordered a grilled pork and rice dish, very common dish a VN restaurant. It was not good. I've had this dish at Least two dozen times at other VN restaurants. The meat was seasoned ok but it ended there. It was dry, tough and grizzly; not good. No garnish on the dish which was served with steamed rice and steamed vegetables. Sorry to say it was horrible disappointment. I will not go back. The restaurant itself is attractive. The menu is a bit jumbled. The tea, which is important to me, was very weak, lacking flavor. Wish this wasn't the case I like VN food. I've have had better VN at Chinese restaurants. read more

My wife and I were looking for a nice Pho restaurant, and delighted with finding a well rounded Vietnamese sit down restaurant. One of the better Pho menus in the Denver to NoCo area, and I tried everything but the tripe (next time!). Delicious. They also offer Vietnamese noodle bowls, salads and an dishes moving more toward Chinese influence. On a Sunday night they were quite busy with happy locals. If you love a homey, but very civilized atmosphere and service by a large three generation family like we do - well you've found home. read more

First off, I have to say that I've come here for a long, long time and know the owners. Before you take that to mean I'm biased--don't--because it just means that I understand the menu well and this review is on what's worth ordering here at Pho Lan. Is it true that this Pho is one dimensional? For the most part, yeah. (This is coming from a Saigon-born, Asiatown-raised, Vietnamese-American.) The broth is really what makes ot break a bowl of Pho, and the broth here doesn't have much nuance or complexity. It is passable Pho. Worth it if you're really craving it. If you do end up ordering it and you're like me, you'll probably find the ratio of meat to noodles unsatisfying, so I suggest to always order extra meat. It's a dollar more, but at least the amount of meat that comes with it is justifiable. I don't think they really skimp because they're cheap, I just think that it's because meat is expensive. Even Chipotle is cutting back on meat portions on all of their locations. Now, other things worth your money: the crispy noodles come in generous portions, the grilled lamb/beef is another good contender for your stomach's real estate, my relatives would definitely vouch for the shrimp spring rolls and pad thai, and I personally think that this place has the best gyoza (aka pot stickers) in town. Basically, anything on the "specials" department of the menu. There's a reason it's there. If you want faux-Asian food, like sesame chicken or general tso's, I'd say you're better off at Canton Palace or Asian Cafe and Grill. The service is nothing to write home about, it's not bad but not memorable. All I can say is that the wait staff tries, but unfortunately, there is a language barrier between them and the mostly Vietnamese-speaking owners. The owners themselves are amicable enough, however. I don't think this place is all that special, but for what you get, and if you're smart about it you'll order from the specials, the prices are certainly attractive. Pho Alan was closed for quite a while so we are so happy it is open again. My wife had the Happy Family ( sometimes accidentally calling it The Happy Meal). She said it was even better than she remembers. I had a large rare beef and brisket pho with extra meat. It was delicious. I got the large so I would have plenty of leftovers. We have lived in Loveland for over 7 years and this is one of our favorite places. read more

I came on here to check when this place was reopening and decided I needed to write a review because I love it so much! My roommate and I decided to try all the pho in the Fort Collins/Loveland area and this is the winner by FAR. I get the brisket pho and I've never tasted more flavorful broth. The meat is delicious also and very tender. I've had it three times in a week when it was open because it was so unbelievably good. We can't wait for it to reopen!! read more

Driving through on my way up to Ft. Collins and decided to give this place a try. I've been a fan of this stuff for about 5 years now, and have been to maybe 7 or 8 Pho restaurants in Colorado and elsewhere. Staff was friendly, place seemed clean, but the Pho broth which is one of the most important elements of this dish was no good, mainly just salty. Couldn't even finish my bowl. Ya usually get only one shot to impress and make someone a repeat customer. This was possibly just a bad day for them, but only drive through Loveland occasionally and won't risk getting another bad meal there. read more

Probably the best Asian food I have had in a very long time. The rice is amazing and the standard sauce they pair with most dishes is very special. Best Togo pho around! We called in and had super good fast service. Very sanitary inside and during the process of picking up food.

I had Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio and it was good. Really loved the Cha Gio they put in it. It was like fried spring rolls. The fish sauce was a little salty rather than sweet. Also had an order of normal spring rolls, fried wontons and chicken fried rice. Friends loved it! read more

A new locale brings a new look and with it the same darn good food. The relocation certainly upped the feel of the decor from tolerable dive to pleasant restaurant. It's larger, roomier, cleaner, brighter and Vietnameseier. Ok, that last one isn't a word but I had a pattern to maintain. Pho Lan consistently produces the best Pho north of Brighton, CO (that I have discovered thus far) and I am pleased to report the flavors weren't left behind in the prior location. The iced coffee is a bit larger than is typical, no complaint here, and though it's not the finest around it is certainly worth the price. Their spring rolls, however, are great. Give them a shot. In the past, the single most significant and consistent complaint about this establishment was the service. The best one could reasonably hope for was ambivalence and hey, if staff surprised you with better consider it a bonus and go play the lottery because things are going your way. That said, during two visits since the relocation, I have found the wait staff to be amiable and attentive. Congrats to Pho Lan on the successful move! And thanks for the good eats. read more

I wasn't sure Pho was my thing as I'm not a soup gal, but it was quite tasty. Broth was great, meat sliced thin. I asked my meat to be sever on the side as I like it rare. Tons of noodles. The difference in size between the regular and large is literally more then double. Large is huge! Extras on the side very tasty. Vietnamese rolls were suggested and the crunch was great although the dipping sauce a bit too much vinegar for my taste. Service good and a different experience for a fun night out. read more

Authentic, family owned, quaint delicious eats! We always come here when we don't have a lot of money to spare but want something amazing to eat. It's new-age casual dining meets full service here. Order at the counter but expect great service at your table, what a combo! The Pho is always piping hot with plenty of fresh veggies to garnish. We recently moved to Loveland from San Diego and were craving Vietnamese food. Based upon the reviews, we settled on this place. Our spring rolls looked and tasted like they had been prepared and wrapped quite a while before we got them. Unfortunately, I had to pull the shrimp out because it tasted really fishy, and there were pieces of gristle in the pork. The peanut sauce was runny and the predominant flavor was vinegar. Never had peanut sauce like that before and do not wish to have it again. The pho was good, fresh veggies were great, but the broth was extremely salty. All in all, not a bad meal, but not a fantastic one either. read more

Stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed! Building is clean and quaint. Our server was very nice and friendly. We had the Chicken Pho and the #12 (rare beef, medium beef and meatballs I think? Another review on here suggested it.) Both were amazing!! Pho Lan has some great broth and large portions. My sister recommended Pho Lan, claiming it was some of the best pho you can find in Northern Colorado. We arrived at 8:50, not knowing the restaurant closed at 9. Still, they got us a seat and served us (though hurriedly, but that was our fault). The food was great! My rare steak pho was very good, albeit salty, and my girlfriend's noodle dish was great. My sister and her boyfriend knew what they wanted from the moment we walked in and relished it (shrimp pho). I raved about it the whole way through dinner. So, it pains me to 2 star this joint, but the end of our meal was absolutely unacceptable. I paid $40 on $16, trying to get change to leave more than $4 for our server. An old man tabbed us out and brought back my change, but i could tell it was short. Ok, honest mistake. I called him over and mentioned my change was short. I hadn't done the math on how much I was still owed before the man instantly began apologizing. He pulled out a wad of cash, peeled off the first bill ($10) and hands it over. This place is awesome and amazing. Run by a family they are accommodating and delightful whenever we go in, which is about once a month any more. They changed the menu a bit, but not the taste and flavor of the food, which is awesome. The Pho is what they are know for, so is top flight and nothing more to say about it! They have a variety of other dishes, including a curry I really like, plus a steamed meal we've been known to get when we're trying to lose some weight. They have added Sake which is wonderful, although I have to ask for it to be made extra hot as it can come out just warm. Went into to have pho on Valentine's day. There were only 2 waitresses and a full restraunt. So this one star is clearly for the girls working and their efforts for working for a such a disappointment of a restaurant. I watched 3 tables that were sat after my family get their food before us. Our dumplings came out hard over fried and cold. My sons food came out 40 min before my husbands food and my food. My sons food also cold. Could not get drinks other tables could not even put in orders. Sat in restraint for 2 hours total when we finally received our food it was not up to normal expectations at all. They put the wrong meat in my husbands pho and couldn't even bring us a plate of the normal add ins that always come with it. Very dissatisfied and will not return nor recommend ever again. read more
