I was honestly disappointed with our experience at Udon Thai. The portions were definitely generous, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the food itself fell flat. Many of the dishes lacked the bold, vibrant flavors you expect from Thai cuisine, and several items were noticeably greasy. We were hoping for that balance of spice, brightness, and depth that makes Thai food so craveable, but it just wasn't there for us. Ordered the Thai fried rice w/ chicken, grilled beef salad, and mango sticky rice. The food was delicious I got both entrees spicy and be warned they do not play with the spice level. I grew up eating raw habanero peppers and this had me heated up in a good way. The grilled beef salad had a good flavor you didn't get that distinct of a grilled clover but you could taste the lime, mint, and other spices quite well. It was nicely salted as well which rounded out all the flavors, it'd pair nicely with some steamed jasmine rice. The fried rice was also dimensional with the flavoring the rice was nicely seasoned and cooked well, it wasn't mushy. The mango sticky rice was a great way to cool the mouth down, the mango was sweet while not being mushy. The sticky rice was cooked well and the coconut sauce was nice and sweet, I could drink it!! Would definitely recommend given the portions, price, and depth of flavor. read more

I was in the area and looking for new Thai restaurant spot for myself and I found this delicious spot. This place offers only indoor dining with around ten dining tables. The menu has a variety of salads, soups, starter, noodles, wok fried and more. I order Drunken Noodles with chicken from the lunch menu for $10.75 (will add $1 or $2 if add protein like chicken or shrimps ) and came with small side salad and one piece of spring roll which I found it really good deal. The service was amazing - very friendly and attentive. The staff checked in often, to ensure that everything was okay which I only see this more in fine dining restaurants or hotel - it's a next level. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for something new spot for Thai food. I will definitely be back again soon. read more

My BF, John, and I frequently come to this spot. We have tried several restaurants in the entirety of Arizona and this is the best spot in terms of flavor/taste and it has never disappointed ! The owner Josh is also very kind , courteous and him and his staff have great qualities in customer service regardless of how busy the restaurant gets. I also love the decor inside , colors, and comfortable seating. I recommend the yellow curry dish as it's my favorite ! The most consistent, flavorful, generous and well-priced Thai in the Scottsdale area, in my opinion. I can only speak to the quality of the curries since that's my staple. Here, they give you proper vegetables, don't add unnecessary sugar, and they spice how you actually order it. In other words, a hot is legitimately hot. Not watered down crap for the American palate. Best of all, their prices are extremely reasonable for a lunch special or even dinner. Small, family owned, and you can tell. The spices are truly cooked into the curry instead of added at the last second. I for one appreciate that. Please don't change, reduce your portions, ingredients or compromise on quality. I've driven by this place so many times and finally had the opportunity to stop by. And I'm so glad we did. This place has really fresh and flavorful dishes. We went in for a great lunch special. $10.75 includes a dish, salad, and egg roll. I added a side of fried wontons. The spicy eggplant was cooked perfectly and even the tofu had great texture. Veggies were crisp. Chicken wasn't dried out like at some other places I've tried. All in all, we will definitely be back. The customer service is excellent. Super fast and freshly made food, and our server was so friendly and attentive. This is a very casual Thai restaurant but it felt like top notch service and food. Highly recommend coming to check out the lunch special and I'll be back to try more items. They are in the process of changing names due to confusion with a different place called "La's". The server said he's there 6 days a week and I asked him about the orange chicken I saw another table order. He said it's one of his favorite items and although that's not a Thai dish, I don't care, I'll be getting it next time. The menu does say "Asian fusion" so mixing up some genres doesn't bother me if the food is delicious. It looked very good. Their eggrolls were some of the best I've had in a while. Great food and excellent service! We showed up the moment they opened starving and were attended quickly. We started with the egg roll which was a great appetizer, and then ordered pad Thai, red curry, and pineapple curry. The pineapple curry was fantastic - I got it medium spicy and it had a nice kick with the delicious sweetness of the pineapple. I didn't have any of the red curry but my mom and uncle loved it, and we were all very happy with the Pad Thai. We finished with Mango Sticky Rice (my favorite that I ate basically every day in Thailand) and it was great. On top of that, our server was prompt and super friendly. He is from Singapore but I unfortunately didn't get his name so hopefully the owners know who I'm talking about because he was great! It was on Wednesday 3/28 at 4pm. All was great. read more

It has been almost 15 years since my last review of LTC, and it is still going strong! This location is close to the Phoenix Rising Youth Stadium where my son practices soccer multiple nights a week, so it's easy to dine in or take out. My daughter and I recently dined in... We shared salted edamame, fresh rolls with shrimp, and the mixed veggies with chicken (and added eggplant). It was all delicious and we had some leftovers to share with my husband and son as well. I wish I had taken a photo of the amazing Thai Tea that began my meal. (I don't do that, but maybe I should start!) Honestly, it was like a laid-back milkshake - not as thick and sweet, but wow, what flavor from the oat milk--a real multi-layered treat. Our waiter, who was the only one on duty besides the excellent chef, was attentive despite it being a reasonably busy Thursday night. The interior is comfortable but pretty basic. It was about half full, and there was a steady business for takeout. Next was the cream cheese wonton appetizer - six delicate, crispy, star-shaped creations stuffed with a creamy crab mix. I was pleased that it was not greasy like this dish tends to be at other places. The dipping sauce complemented the appetizer instead of overwhelming it. I had drunken noodles - a dish that I don't see on the menus on the web. It had wide, flat noodles for the base, with tofu, red bell pepper, and possibly mushrooms. The waiter asked "what protein?" and I added shrimp. It was positively delicious. All in all, a perfect and very reasonably priced meal! My son, who had been eyeing this place and invited me to go with him, had pad thai and liked it: "it was pretty good." This is a great spot to pick up some Thai food to go. I'm a fan of the Pad See Ew, the Pad Thai, and the mixed vegetable soup. You can adjust the level of spice for pretty much everything which is great. The staff here is very friendly, and they are always quick with orders. I've really only sat here once or twice, so I can't say much on the atmosphere. Parking is super easy here too. My dad and I dined here for the first time today, and we really enjoyed it! The food was great, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was very cozy! We ordered the tofu fresh rolls, salted edamame, Thai tea, and Green Curry with eggplant (one with shrimp and one with tofu), basmati rice, and brown rice. The Thai tea was delicious, the tofu fresh rolls were exceptional (best in town), the edamame was ok (could have been hotter) and the Green curry was good. This is the nicest Thai restaurant in town for dining in, because the restaurant is small, comfortable, and cozy with some booths. (The only problem is being too close to your neighbors, in case you don't enjoy their conversation.) The restaurant was very popular and full with every seat taken seemingly a large volume of to go orders based on the wait time. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, but the appetizers took a while to arrive. When the entrees arrived, I was already full, but the entrees were not 100% accurate. My dad's green curry had fried tofu instead of soft tofu, but he enjoyed it anyway. My curry was good, but some of the vegetables (eggplant and zuchini) were overcooked. I tried this place for the first time and it is incredible! Firstly, the guy working was so friendly and welcoming, he was super polite and made sure that my daughter and I were comfortable. The interior was beautiful and clean, great for an intimate yet casual date night. I was craving a yellow curry with shrimp and they made it just perfect. The perfect amount of spice for me was the medium and they put a lot of shrimp and veggies in it. It came with rice on the side which was really moist and fluffy. I also got the egg rolls which were really out of this world! They are clearly handmade in house, you definitely cannot skip getting them! My husband and I were visiting Scottsdale on a long weekend and La's Thai was within walking distance of our hotel. The restaurant is small but clean, and they seem to be a little understaffed but they are very friendly. We ordered the spring rolls and they were fabulous. We also had the drunken noodles, which were not our favorite, and the Panang Curry which was the star! The spice was spot on (we chose medium and it was a true medium), and everything was fresh and yummy. We had the black sticky mango rice to go--wish we had eaten it there, while it was warm, but it was still delicious. So while not my favorite Thai restaurant, definitely a solid choice if you are in the area. 4 out of 5 stars, would recommend! read more

As of Friday, February 26th, not sure about dinner time but for lunch they are only doing take out. The looked place looked small but seeing that they blocked off a lot of the entry way, due to take out only, I couldn't really tell. I ordered the spicy noodles with shrimp with (spicy level) & the stuff winged but was told they didn't have the stuffed wings. The spice level on the noodles was good. The flavor was good but for being a stir fried noodle, it was more wet than I thought it would be. Made me wish I would've bought some jasmine rice to sop up some of the sauce. There was a great mixture of vegetables, noodles and shrimp. The size of the shrimp were good, they weren't huge but were also not tiny. Overall, it was good. First time here. Just had dinner. Apparently, they re-opened for dine-in last week and maybe people don't know that yet as they had been closed for TWO years--yikes. I accidentally parked in the back vs the front so I had to walk all the way around so something to keep in mind. I ordered two pork egg rolls and the chicken and shrimp rice noodle soup. Not spicy. Egg rolls were yummy. They came out super hot so I had to use my napkin to hold onto it to eat it. I really liked the noodles and soup. I think because I ordered no spice, it was more bland than usual, but I don't mind that. I'd rather have that than over-seasoned any day! The shrimp was okay, but only had two. Not a huge fan of the chicken--nothing wrong with it and it was tender, not dry, but wasn't feeling it and they gave me a lot of it lol. Overall, I was satisfied and felt comforted eating this food on a cold night (low 60s!). I hope more people go here. It's very casual setup--think like cafeteria style or those old diner setups so don't expect fancy decor, but the guy working there was really nice.
