    Loaded potato soup
    Nancy N.

We had a great experience this week at Bobby Q! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and quickly shown to our table. Along the way, we caught a glimpse of mini donuts being made, and let's just say they had our attention. More on those later\! Carrie was our server, and she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Things got off to a great start with the complimentary cornbread. It was warm, moist, and the perfect way to kick off a barbecue feast. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. The brisket had a wonderful smoky flavor and was cooked well. It was just a little drier than I personally prefer, but I'd happily order it again because the flavor was excellent. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and a great pairing. My husband started with the loaded potato soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For his entrée, he ordered the Tomatillo Brisket Mac & Cheese. Their homemade mac and cheese was topped with smoked brisket, tomatillo sauce, chives, and sour cream. It was creamy, comforting, and the tomatillo added a fresh, slightly tangy twist that kept the dish from feeling too heavy. II was an appetizer but more than enough to be eaten for the meal. Our daughter ordered the pulled chicken with potato salad. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and the potato salad was a delicious classic side that complemented it perfectly. Now, about those mini donuts...they were absolutely worth saving room for! Fresh, warm, and coated in cinnamon sugar, they were the perfect sweet ending to an already wonderful meal. Carrie brought each II us a small bag and they were also complimentary. Between the friendly service, delicious food, and those unforgettable donuts, Bobby Q delivered a barbecue experience we'll definitely be back for.

Our visit to Bobby Q in Mesa began a bit roughly - but TL;DR; the good news is some great staff turned the evening around! How a team reacts to problems tells me more about the place than just having a 3 or 4 star experience - this group showed experience, grace, and real concern. To start - if you want a booth, make sure you specify that when you put in your name - it changes the wait time. While we waited, we ordered Cokes from the bar, and Marquis gave a warm welcome and great service! Upon finally sliding into our booth, we found the seats hadn't been brushed off - and it was very crumb-y (pun intended) - we ended up using our napkins and then grabbing new sets from a nearby table. We also learned the Coke was FLAT and bitter - not great. However our server, Calvin, during that typical greeting and small talk actually invited us to share our concerns, asking us not to hold back and as a result went above and beyond to turn our experience around. An additional visit from Manager Josh followed, apologizing and genuinely seemed to want the the feedback as a tool for improvement and coaching for some new staff. From that point, everything was great! From getting replacement drinks, to sampling the pulled pork and brisket to tender ribs, and the good sized Cajun shrimp appetizer, the team truly redeemed the evening, and the apple cobbler (it's got a pastry top!) and cinnamon sugar donuts was a great close to the meal. Calvin and Josh gave a masterclass in how to turn a meh start into a memorable meal. We're looking forward to going back - next time with a booth request upfront!

Amazing food, delicious corn bread and donuts, great service. Will definitely be back.

Ahmazing!! Awesome food, awesome service! Dominque was amazing!! She literally was one of the best funny, attentive and gracious servers I have ever had!! I have never had a bad thing here EVER. The laid back fun mood of the restaurant always brings me back!

Bobby Qs is a great place for higher quality BBQ experience. You can get standard BBQ items, Salads, Burgers, sandwiches and Steaks. There's something for everyone here and the food is great. Also the service from DJ was top notch. He was very attentive and helpful for our dinner experience. Just a tip, if you have a group of 4-6, order the Hog Heaven. More than enough food for the group and keeping it easy for everyone. Great place for BBQ!

Closer to a 4.5 because Crystal was awesome and there are many things to like about Bobby Q's. The place looks great and has a fun, energetic (but welcoming) vibe - like a bbq place should have. Sat at the bar to avoid any wait and it was a great choice because Crystal took excellent care of us. Ordered the "Whole Hog" and got to try different meats and sides. The mashed potatoes with peppered gravy were a hit, and the brisket was tender. Also enjoyed the pulled chicken and beef ribs. Overall good food - definitely get the mash! Also ordered drinks and those were terrific! Smoked old fashioned and Blood Orange Margarita - both excellent. The Blackberry Smash was delicious, too.

Came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Salad tasted fresh. Service was good. Loved the donuts!

Came here for dinner and was glad we had reservations. There were quite a few people waiting for tables, and there is not a lot of space to wait. This place has a great atmosphere--very rustic, with lots of reclaimed wood and exposed brick. If you take a walk around the bar, you can see how big this place is. One big complaint we had was the drink menu. It's had nice colorful pictures of each cocktail, but absolutely no description of the cocktails. That would be great if we were only in an Instagram world, but we actually like to choose our cocktails by what's in them, and more importantly what's NOT in them. I love mezcal, and hubby hates it. Hubby loves whiskey, and I hate it. But there was no way to know the ingredients. We asked the server if there was a menu that listed what was in each drink. She said no and I asked how are we supposed to know what's in the drink? She said she knows them all and we would have to ask her. She really did know them all, but we only asked for a couple because we didn't want her standing there giving us the rundown of 20 cocktails. I'm not sure why they would do it this way, but it seems like a really bad thing. I really love the cornbread and butter that every table gets. So happy to see our server bring us the basket! Hubby got the brisket salad and I got to pecanha steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes and pecan coleslaw. I loved every single thing about my meal. The chimichurri on the pecanha steak was delicious! On the other hand, hubby said that his brisket did not have much flavor and that it was just okay. Of course at the end of the meal we got a little bag of the signature cinnamon sugar donuts! That's always a treat! We had a nice time and I really liked my dinner, but they seriously need to think about a different cocktail menu.

This was my second time visiting Bobby Q, first time for the Mesa location. The staff right away were so sweet and funny. You really have amazing staff, great group of people. My party got a ton of food to share and for three of us it left us with plenty to take home. Everything was delicious! I was really impressed with the smoke flavor and portion sizes. The complimentary cornbread and dessert donuts are a great addition to the meal as well. I also loved the interior design, soft calm lighting. I will be visiting here again with the family.

We had so much fun here for my mom's birthday. They had to have little portable AC units nearby to keep the temperature comfortable, but it didn't bother us. And the bar has a pretty nasty smell, so as long as you're sitting away from it, you're good. Super fun decor and ample seating. Our server was great, and all of our food was delicious. The drink menu is super fun too with drinks coming in funny-shaped glasses and whatnot.

Great service, best barbecue, not a steak house. $52 boneless steak. I've had really good barbecue experiences here.

    Is the cornbread unlimited?

Yes we've been served multiple baskets !☺️

    Is there outdoor dining?

    Yes

I was just wondering what items you would recommend for a Gluten Free meal? or even side orders.

All the meat and BBQ is gluten free! And mash potatoes, Broccoli, coleslaw! Very gluten friendly!

    P Is there patio seating?

They do, mostly shady too, yet not dog friendly.

Is the spicy sausage a real hot link?

No, not like farmer johns or earl campbell hot, they are spicy plus they are cut in Diagonal slices. Now they are very hot if you add the hot bbq sauce

Is this bbq place kid friendly? It would be nice to have a great meal with the wife , a couple cocktails and let the kids enjoy as well.

Excellent spot for the family... My nephews absolutely love their Mac and cheese.. Very kid friendly And free in house scratch made donuts at the end of your meal.

Is this the same people as the one in Phoenix or is it a franchise?

Pretty sure it's the same owner.

    Gluten free options?

It says gluten free on their page

She loves Alice in Wonderland. She was mistaken and thought it said Java not Kava. The bartender was very, very informative and he let us know that they will give you your first dose of Kava for free to try it. I could not choke all of it down. My friend was a trooper goddess, and she choked the whole thing. I was so impressed by her I am very sensitive to things. I am a big baby sometimes so I did not drink the rest of mine because immediately I had a gag reflex going on lol So I did not drink the initial dose, but I ordered the Horchata beverage that had cover in it. And they have different doses, strengths and different styles of, so this is just what I ordered. It was the last light, on the menu he suggested for us. So even though I did not enjoy the Kava, it is not my jam. I would try it again lol I know that sounds crazy even after the strange tingling in my throat went away after everything I've said because I saw other people coming in and they had huge juicy type of Kava drinks and I was thinking well you know, maybe I'll come back and try the juicy, drink next time instead of focusing on this particular experience And the reason I say that is because the bartender was so great and informative and it is a fantastic vibe in there and it was busy enough for a weird Wednesday afternoon. So they have trivia karaoke all kinds of stuff throughout the week and I could see this being a really fun place. So if you like Kava, you should really come here. It is very fun. I really wish it were easier to find breakfast joints with organic coffee but it can be a bit difficult to find in certain areas, such as the east valley area. This was one of a couple options I could find. We attempted to dine here for dinner on a previous occasion but it was a long wait at that time so we went elsewhere. This time we showed up around 10:15am on a Saturday in June, and we were quoted 90 minutes for two people. Fortunately there was room at the bar, so we were seated immediately. The decor is very clean and subtlety higher end. It is an open floor plan with the bar towards the front door, which is also accessible from the large patio (in cooler weather times) that has mister fans and a lot of shade. They have one of the nicest and cleanest restrooms in the valley, with complementary sea salt scrub and high end paper napkins. They also have a couple luxurious event spaces, one of which was hosting an engagement party. My mom tried a non alcoholic drink special with decaffeinated tea and fresh juices, with a little flower on top. She also tried the avocado toast. She enjoyed both but she said the avocado toast was a little spicy, albeit she has an extremely low tolerance for spice. I opted for the breakfast sandwich and black coffee. The coffee came in a neat mug with an oversized handle that was very ergonomic. It was good, but slightly watery. Was at least comforting to know it wasn't laced with tons of pesticides like most restaurants' coffee. The egg, bacon and avocado sandwich was delicious. The egg and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the bread was nice and soft but not too dry. The greens on the side were fresh with a nice vinaigrette. The service was excellent, all of the staff were friendly and seemed to be happy to be there. All in all I was impressed with this place. The only thing I wish they had on their brunch menu was an omelette, because this is first place I have been in a very long time that isn't a fine dining establishment, where they actually know how to cook eggs properly. They were fluffy, moist, and light. I don't bring this up as a brag, but I attended culinary school and learned proper scrambled egg (French style) technique years ago. This is the first place I've been in a long time that gives my eggs a run for their money.

I love how the intimate dining is separate from larger gatherings. Definitely a lot of thought and planning went into the Layout of this restaurant. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the hostess. Behind her was a small case featuring oysters. The young woman that seated us was kind and showed us to our seat. Our servers name was Nicki. She was also very friendly and had very good recommendations. To drink I started off with The Phoenix and my husband had a bottled beer. My drink was very delicious. Freshly squeezed citrus juices gave it a bit of a tart taste. It was definitely a deliciously crafted cocktail. For dinner I chose to have the restaurant week menu. Please see photo below. I selected the Birria dumplings. They consisted of Wagyu beef cheek, cabbage slaw, roasted corn, confit, mushrooms, bok choy, beef, broth, and chili sauce. We both thoroughly enjoyed them and would definitely get them again. For my main course, I selected the K4 flat iron steak, prepared, medium rare. It was accompanied by Chiltepin sauce - potatoes - flour tortilla - beans. There was definitely something about the potatoes and how they were dry roasted, then added to the beans. The way the potatoes absorbed the residual liquid from the beans created a delicious melody of flavors. Steak was delicious and perfectly. K4 is a. premium Meat shop in Prescott, Arizona. For Dessert, I ordered the Keylime pie. I have to admit I do not like Keylime pie but today I have seen the light! Or should I say spirit? Esprirtu's Keylime pie is the best I have ever had. Less like a traditional pie it's layered and cut into a square. The lime zest on top gave it that extra finishing touch of tart. Thank you to the entire staff for a very delicious and memorable meal. We will absolutely positively be returning.

While I don't recall ordering food there, we had ordered drinks on several occasions. We also saw the food being brought out for others, not from our group, on several occasions. The service, the staff, and the drinks were all great! The 1912 Lounge can provide a cold beer, some handcrafted cocktails, or a variety of dishes, from appetizers and salads to burgers and other large entrees, and desserts. They have bold wines and plenty of domestic and imported beer options. The atmosphere comes across as friendly and cozy. The signature cocktail that was the biggest hit with our group was the Blueberry Gin Fizz with Empress gin, blueberry, citrus, and a soda float. The 1912 Lobby Bar and Lounge serves food until 10 PM on weekdays and until 11 PM on weekends. It is open until 11 PM from Sunday through Thursday and until Midnight on Friday and Saturday. You can find their food menu at https://www.sanmarcosresort.com/pdfs/1912-menu-10-1-25.pdf. The drink menu is available at https://www.sanmarcosresort.com/pdfs/1912-beverages-2024.pdf. They also offer live music from local musicians every Friday and Saturday night from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. On Mondays, they have Monday Night Football deals, including $4 draft beer and food specials from 5 PM to close. On Tuesdays, they have Fajitas and Margaritas Night with $4 Blue Margaritas from 5 PM to close. Fridays are Fish Fry Fridays for only $15 from 5 PM to close. You can follow @sanmarcosresort on Instagram for more specials and events. I'll be back in a few months for another stay and conference at this hotel, so I expect to be back at the 1912 Lounge then. Looking forward to it!

I've grown to really enjoy the expanded list of cocktails on their menu and that has improved my experience when I go. Plus, I just love sitting at that horseshoe bar. Until next time, cheers!

The reviews looked good,…read moreand as a lover of spirits and cocktails, I decided to give them a try Through the front doors you take a right and enter a very intimate lounge and bar area. The light is very dim, but you can see the central bar, the almost decorative stills behind glass in the back, and many booths and seating areas You order your drinks at the bar. They have a list of signature and classic options using spirits distilled at the whiskey as well as other spirits. Each cocktail is a work of art. The artisanal elixirs are made to order right in front of you at the bar. This means they are quality drinks, but it also means they take slightly longer because they're made with care... they also might cost you a bit money The staff are friendly. We spoke to a couple about the cocktails, the distillery, eating options in the area, etc The drinks are solid. They aren't the heaviest of pours or too strong. Each cocktail has specific drink rate, garnishes, etc that will accompany it The distillery has a prime location, smack dab in the middle of the downtown Mesa. You can find restaurants, bars, shops, and even a place where you can both play pinball and shop for antiques or a spot where you can eat Cronuts while playing Super Mario Kart (Outcast) Some tips: Tell the bartender what you enjoy drinking and let them guide you towards a selection They offer tours on Saturdays (1hr in length) where you can learn more about the distilling process and try samples They have a couple clarified cocktails that were truly unique and refreshing. If you're into that They are open 7 days a week but their hours vary depending on the day Cheers!!

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! New food menu tomorrow too?! What?! I was almost tempted to back today to get more of their amazing dishes from the main menu!! Thank you Cat for the amazing hospitality! I learned so much about Gaea in one afternoon too :D Love it. To update about the food I tried but some of you may not get to try since they're changing it up :P *Tiger Shrimp - DIVINE - JUICY ZUCCHINI STUFFED WITH CURRY THAT MAKES YOUR ENTIRE MOUTH WATER JUST THINKING ABOUT IT ONCE ITS EVER TOUCHED YOUR TONGUE - the prawns are BIGGER THAN YOUR MIDDLE FINGER *Thai Salad - zesty spicy, VERY filling and made in lettuce cups, so very much not your typical salad but very tasty *steak skewers - much more like the juiciest steak I've literally ever had on a skewer - LITERALLY...but not because it's fat, just because they somehow made this steak completely juicified - don't ask me how - ask Cat *Mole Chicken Skewers - My favorite...you should just try it.
