I was in OKC this past weekend and visited Pho Lien Hoa after my long flight. The pho broth is so on point. I ordered a Pho tai bo vien and can't barely finish because of the amount of noodle and meats. Definitely worth every penny. I added a coffee drink with my order. The cafe sua da has a strong taste of coffee to my liking, not overly sweet. I got a few more items to go (not pictured) like Mi do bien - seafood egg noodle soup and Banh Canh do bien - seafood udon noodle soup. Everything so delicious. I wish I had more time to try out other items on the menu, I will stop by when I visit okc again. read more

Their food is amazing. It's cheap and they have the best broth and noodles from all of the other pho locations (I've tried a lot) but they are sooooo freaking rude. Any time I've ever called in an order, they are rude as heck. They say "I cant hear you" even though it's their background, so you try to clarify what you want and they get ruder! I've been hung up on so many times. I've asked to speak to someone else, and they leave you on hold for so long it's pointless. I love the food but goodness, the customer service is absolute trash. I asked to speak to someone else and she started insulting me, but I understood everything she said. It's ridiculous. I also think it sucks that they don't take cash but they have an atm with an almost $3 surcharge right by the register. Even if you're dining in, they treat you like you're a nuisance to them and wasting THEIR time. As good as the food is and as affordable it is, I'm not sure if it's even worth the trouble. read more

We thought they gave out free water but apparently not, it's bottled water. The only downfall is they are a cash only payment. His response if we accept card we'll have to increase the price of food, interesting much! The food was good but they don't give you water you have to buy a bottle the day I went it was a cold and rainy day so I ask for hot water they charge $1.00 for hot water and they charge more for the dish we order they try to charge more than what we had the ordered be careful if you eat there make sure you don't get charged more. Pho Lien Hoa is my go-to place to take friends wanting to try pho for the first time! Their broth is delicious, and they are generous with the noodles and the meat. If trying pho for the first time, I recommend ordering P11 (Pho Tai Chin) with meatballs (Bo Vien)! To make the broth even more flavorful and delicious, don't forget to add hoisin sauce, a little bit of lime juice, and Sriracha if you like spicy! You also get a selection of herbs as well as bean sprouts that you can add to your pho! For the adventurous, P1 (Pho Dac Biet) is a good choice as well! Service is quick, and the food is inexpensive! The prices are based on the size of the bowl rather than the ingredients you choose to put in your pho (unless you order add-ons), so you're getting a good value! If you don't like/want pho, they also offer many other noodle-based dishes and rice platter dishes. They also have a good selection of Vietnamese smoothies and desserts! The bowl of pho looks delicious but lacked flavor. Definitely had to add so much just to get it up to par. The portion was generous and i was full when i left so two stars for that reason. When it was time to pay, all i had on me were my cards. I never carry cash on me. This place is a cash only place. I had to take out cash from the ATM inside their restaurant. Got hit with like $2.50 convenient fee and then my bank hit me with another $2.50 non bank ATM withdraw fee. The bowl of pho cost like $9-10. With the ATM/bank fee, the tip i left, and the price, that was one of the most expensive bowl of pho i had to pay for here in OKC. Many years ago, I went to Pho Lien Hoa to meet a friend for a dinner date. I had not had pho before, but this place was always hopping and it got rave reviews by my friends. My interest peaked, I tentatively ordered a "Small P11." Firstly, I was not prepared for the sheer size of this "small" MIXING bowl sized bowl. Wow! Then, I was impressed with the complexity of the broth and surprised to find the "rare steak" was quickly and completely cooked by the time it sat on the table 0.5seconds. The assortment of accoutrements that arrived with the soup was also enticing: lime wedges, thai basil, chili sauce, bean sprouts, & jalapeno slices (local flavor) area are placed on the table with your soup. It's so fun to explore different combinations of flavors right there at your table. It's a very hands-on meal! Since that initial discovery of pho at Pho Lien Hoa, it will forever be my favorite. I've had pho many times since then, at many different places, and some are more delicious than others, but Pho Lien Hoa will forever hold a special place in my heart! read more

First and foremost: CASH ONLY The place seems to be crowded all the time; however, service is very prompt and tables turnover quickly even though the staff does not rush you out. It's a no frills, extremely casual establishment, just how I prefer my Vietnamese restaurants to be. My order of a small bowl of Pho Chin was $7.50, which was the perfect size and so comforting on a rainy day. The ratio of meat to noodle was just right! The highlight of my meal was the spring rolls (cha gio), which is 2 for $2.50. The rolls are long, skinny and extra crunchy. The accompanying sauce (nuoc cham) was a good balance of sweet and savory. You'll definitely want the whole order to yourself. To cap off the meal, I also tried their Vietnamese iced coffee, which was pretty standard and gave me the right amount of caffeine buzz. I'm not an expert when it comes to Vietnamese food. All I can say is that I expected to be wowed by the food because of the high Yelp rating online. However, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered one of the vermicelli bowls, and I felt like the type of noodles they used is a bit different from what I like and am used to from other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. Although it can still be considered rice vermicelli, the texture of the noodles seemed a bit off, and the diameter of the noodle seemed a tiny bit larger than what I'm used to. Instead of softer, white-colored vermicelli, Pho Lien Hoa serves something a tiny bit more translucent. It has less spring when you bite into it, and it's cooked to a similar hardness as al dente pasta. It reminds me slightly of jianxi/lai fun/banh canh noodles due to the texture. I can't say that I liked this variation as much as the softer kind. I liked that they served the sweet and sour fish sauce, but felt it could have been stronger in flavor. Once added to the vermicelli bowl, I felt it became a bit too diluted with the other ingredients. The egg rolls were okay, but I felt like the flavor profile didn't seem to match what the menu described. The menu states there is ground pork, shrimp, and carrots inside. However, I feel it tasted more of mushrooms and onions. I also saw some thin rice noodles (clear)? I was expecting a savory pork/fresh shrimp taste, and I was left confused. The shining star of the experience was their bahn cam (deep-fried sesame balls with red bean filling). It was delicious! The level of sweetness was perfect, and the chew was on point. I'd definitely recommend the bahn cam if you don't mind stopping in to grab a quick dessert. Side note: Their restaurant seemed very clean, and didn't have any weird smells. read more

All I gotta say is... the pho broth sucks as well as their homemade hoisin sauce. Service is no good either. They tend to forget about you. Will not check back to see if everything is good. Will just take ur order and you will not see them a second time. No drinks are refilled either. They don't take cards as a form of payment. ONLY CASH. but they do have their own ATM so you can just take money out from there if you ever forget.... The charge I heard was about $2.xX a transaction. MINDBLOWN. WOW. This is is for the 23rd st location. Haven't visited the others but this is the best pho in OKC. Having lived in and around the Asian district for years I believe I've had them all now. Pho Liên Hòa takes the cake! The vermicelli bowls too are delicious. Staff is great. So why 4 stars? Well the atmosphere sucks. Think high school cafeteria. This IMO is why many prefer Pho Cuong off Classen. The pho isn't quite as good but the atmosphere is much more like home. I went here with my boyfriend during a weekend trip to OKC, and we decided we had to try the Vietnamese food! As a Houston native, I did not have very high expectations, but all the dishes we tried did not cease to impress me. We started with the spring rolls, which came with 2 rolls and had a delicious peanut sauce. They were worth the price point at $2.50. The pho tai and pho dac biet had a nice, clean broth that was not as salty as other pho restaurants we've tried. The rare steak was soft and juciy, but the only complaint was that the meat: noodles ratio was a bit low, even considering that we both ordered the largest size. There were plenty of bean sprouts, herbs and lime for our soups. What really blew me away was the che ba mau, a Vietnamese dessert literally meaning 3 colored che (3 colors as in 3 different types of beans). Che is a sweet Vietnamese dessert typically composed of beans, coconut milk and gelatin. The coconut milk was not overly sweet, and the main sweetness from the dessert came from the mung and red beans. The gelatin was soft and chewy--you could tell it was freshly prepared. It was better than the che I've had in Houston, and on par with the che I've had in Vietnam. If we ever swing back to OKC, we would gladly visit Pho Lien Hoa again! read more

I have been coming here for a few years now and have yet to find another pho restaurant to even compare to Pho Lien Hoa's goodness. I always get the spring rolls to start out and would recommend them to anyone. P16 is a personal fave when it comes to the pho and I cannot stress it enough how perfect their Thai tea is. They give you a sweet fish sauce to pour into the noodle bowl, which has grilled sweet pork, carrots, fried onions, cucumber, etc. I had a hard time resisting munching on it after I was full. The Bo Bun Hue is okay, mostly spicy sour watery broth, wasn't a fan of the thicker noodles. I didn't taste really any lemongrass flavors.
