So good I had to find the extra diacritical marks for the o because not to would be sacrilegious. I got the #13, FWIW, rare steak. Didn't take pictures because I didn't expect it to be, well, this good. Also if you've never been to a place like this: Try the salted plum soda. Sounds like it might not work but it really does! I will say the extra veggies (broccoli and such) are just OK. But that's not what you go to a phở place for, so it's still five stars. I got takeout and even as takeout it's amazing. Cannot believe I have not reviewed this place yet. Hubby loves his Pho and we've been coming here for the longest time, well the last few years since we met. It's his favorite in town. The Pho is tasty, the right amount of noodles and meats. We haven't really tried anything else here. A bowl of Pho is under 15.00 which seems a good deal. The staff is friendly and welcoming and recognize us by now. The space is a no frills hole in the wall and extremely clean. You can smell the cleaners when they clear the tables and wipe them. Pulled up to Pho Long Beach for a rainy date night, and it was exactly what we needed. The Thai tea was super sweet and refreshing. The egg rolls were crispy and fresh, especially with the lettuce and pickled carrots on the side. I came here a few days ago to stop by for some pho. As i'm eating the Pho, I find this huge piece of plastic in my soup. I had already eaten through half of it before I saw the plastic inside. When i notified the worker of the plastic in the soup, they asked if I wanted it remade. I was already disgusted at this point and said no. I used to go to another pho place more regularly where the pho is very delicious but the service leaves much to be desired (they treat you like you're doing them a disservice while you're there and only start being somewhat cordial after they bring you the bill). Yesterday I was feeling a bit under the weather and felt like ordering it with chicken. At first, the smell was pretty strong, but once it was all seasoned and spiced, it didn't smell so strong. I really wish they'd bring more than 2 small wedges of lime. On the plus side, my mom and I really like their thai iced tea, but usually find it very sweet. We decided to kick off the new year with some Pho and so we headed down to Pho Long Beach as our go-to Pho spot was closed on New Year's Day. I've heard great things about this establishment so I was actually quite excited to try this spot out! My boyfriend and I arrived to a server seating us immediately with a table ready for us. One thing I can solidify about this restaurant is that the service was definitely A1! We were tended to greatly throughout our visit which I really appreciated. The seating arrangement was bigger than I imagined but could easily manage to get a bit crowded as the tables are all quite close to each other. Now in terms of taste, here's the thing.. We ordered 2 Thai Tea's which were honestly phenomenal. I've had Thai Tea at various establishments over the years and I can vouch that Pho Long Beach offers the best one! As a matter of fact, I will honestly come here alone for the Thai Tea. As an appetizer we ordered the deep fried shrimp and it was really great! The shrimp was jumbo sized, yummy, and clean. The Pho dishes consisted of our usual; Rare Steak Pho's with mine including chicken breast. This establishment served me my chicken apart from my pho which I didn't mind at all. We both agreed that our Rare Steak was a little on the tougher side and that the quality of the rice noodles weren't that great. However, there's one thing I really couldn't overlook and that was how our broth was a little bland and much more oilier compared to other Pho establishments. I hate to say it, but my boyfriend and I both left with somewhat of an upset stomach immediately after our visit. I guess if you leave the restaurant smelling squeaky fresh, there's a little something missing in that phở broth. Broth aside, they give you a generous portion of meat - though I didn't love the enormity of my flank slices. I've been coming here for a great taste of pho ever since I was a kid! The fried rice and egg rolls are also very delicious! I usually get the combo fried rice and then we get the 6 egg rolls because the price for them is not bad at all and they are sort of long, so if you cut them in half its like you got 12! The noodles taste like it's been sitting in water too long. Also the meat seems overcooked and tough to eat. Customer service was pretty bad. They don't check up on you at all but they will make sure you get the check immediately to pay them. And I wasn't even done eating yet. And for some reason the workers like staring at me with a weird frown , getting racist vibes from the workers and cook. This place used to be my favorite pho place. In my opinion, it was the best in South Bay. I recently visited there after a long time as I moved out of Long Beach 1.5 years ago. I ordered pho tai (slices of rare steak) . I'm so sad to say this but I don't think I will go back again. It changed drastically. The biggest difference was that they changed pho noodles to vermicelli noodles that I usually see in bun, the vermicelli dish. The texture was much softer and mushier. I saw a similar review about the noodles being too soft, so for whatever reason, they changed the recipe. The broth was mediocre too. This restaurant saved my life in Long Beach 2011-2022 by offering good authentic pho and I thank them for that. If you are not so picky about pho and don't really have an expectation on what it should taste like, the restaurant may still be good so I will still rate 3. read more
