Super fast service. I ordered four #1 banh mi and they were really good. My whole family liked them even after a two hour drive home to San Diego they were still delicious. The sandwiches are big, it took me two meals to finish mine. Bread was soft and fresh, lots of meat and veggies. Everything tasted really fresh compared to banh mi in San Diego. Pâté was good but I wish they didn't mix it with the Vietnamese mayo and put it all on one side of the bread. I prefer them separated. We also got sesame balls, they were small but really good and fresh, 2 for $1. Parking wasn't too bad and there were only a couple people inside when we got there. Love the food here, been to the one in Fountain Valley in Orange County and I fell in love. They have a drive thru there too. Here in Long Beach it's a walk in ambiance spot. Anywho, I love the Grilled Pork Bánh Mì (Thịt Nướng) sandwich. It's super popular, savory and slightly sweet marinated pork. I also got the Vermicelli Bowl (Bún) with grilled chicken (very generous w/the chicken) & it comes with a fresh salad , rice, and fish sauce. They said yes to offering us a sample of the pineapple mint drink and it was delicious I had to buy a cup of it and try their Vietnamese coffee; Both drinks were a hit. There's places that you come to knowing you're going to get what you expected. This is on of them in Long Beach. Somewhat of a known place if you're looking for banh mi. There's a few other locations and they're all great. This location in the LBC shares a parking lot with 7'11 and other businesses. It's a decent size corner lot which a good amount of parking. Restaurant itself isn't that big. There's a few tables to the sides for dine in but it's more of a take out place. Right when you walk in, the counter is right infront where you place your order. There's a glass counter with drinks and perishable and package food on the counter. Everything is made fresh daily and brought out on a regular. Menu pretty much has all the food selections of the banh mi, plate meals and so on. I picked up a couple of the sandwiches, the combination with a mixture of meats, pate, and of course the pickle veggies. They're number one seller I believe. Also all the baguette are fresh and made in house. Also picked up the bbq pork and grilled chicken. Both excellent as the meat is fresh and served with the pickle veggies. Besides that, they had boa available which was still hot and fresh. Picked some up a couple and pork egg rolls that were in the hot glass display. Plus an order of the springs roll. It's also another dish that's a must here. They're packed and made daily. Besides that, everything on the menu looked amazing. Their rice dishes, noodles and combination meals are all made to order. This restaurant puts theirs on a hoagie style bun making it more traditional and savory. Service was quick and easy. It's a casual restaurant, with a high turnover so you order at the cash register and wait for them to call out your number. Bus your table yourself. The banh mi is huge! What a fantastic sandwich! This thing is huge and it's fairly priced. I get why they added "pickle" in their name because they're very generous with it- I love the crunch with every bite. The sauce was surprisingly sweeter than I expected, but, all the flavors had a wonderful balance. I also appreciate that I can bite into the bread without it crumbling all over my shirt. This usually indicates that the bread is good quality and/or it wasn't overly toasted. This rating is solely on the sandwich. I didn't dine-in because it was too hot inside. I've eaten here before and was in the area so I called in an order of their thit kho (braised pork). I've gotten this and their banh mi in the past and the thit kho was good so I figured it was a safe option. I think they use fake butter in their banh mi and I'm not a fan of that flavor profile so I didn't care for their banh mi. Ordering over the phone was friendly and quick and pick up was a bit slow but no complaints there. When I got back to the hotel and started eating it, I found a piece of plastic wrap in it so that was very bad. Anytime we're in the area, we try to stop by. We've ventured on from the Bahn Mi sandwiches and love to order the Lomo Saltado Rice dish. Make sure you say rice dish. I got these meats in the spring rolls, so I opted for their lomo saltado banh mi. In my previous visit, I went with their chargrilled pork banh mi and I think that's that's what I would recommend. The lomo saltado banh mi has a generous amount of filet mignon beef; however, the fries and raw bell pepper and the absence of the key aji pepper sauce makes the sandwich less successful in filling my cravings. Make no mistake. I finished my sandwich and it was good. Overall, I do think their banh mi sandwiches are great because of their house made, flaky breads, because they're packed with delicious meat, and they're generously loaded with veggies and flavor. Pickle Banh Mi also has rice dishes and other appetizers, but I only have two stomachs (if you factor in my wife); however, it gives me more reason to keep coming back. My favorite place to get a pork banh mi, I've even turned my parents into huge fans. Whenever there's been no meat left out to cook or we just feel too lazy to prepare anything, The Pickle gets us out of a pickle. The sandwiches are a good size and come with your choice of meat, super fresh veggies and a flavorful aioli spread. Be careful with the jalapeños though - sometimes they are super spicy! We tend to share the sandwiches in my home, eating only half. At times, I wish they'd put a bit more meat, but maybe I just need to remember to ask to add extra. I've also tried the iced teas and the spring rolls here. I almost took one star off because the two times I've ordered spring rolls here, they were falling apart while at the same time having pieces that were too tough to bite through or chew, but overall they have been consistently good with everything else. The staff is always helpful. I usually call in my order ahead of time and then pick up quickly. They're pretty fast service and get the line moving whenever there has been a line. I can't recall if there's seating inside the restaurant but it's clean and well lit up. It's really not a surprise that Pickle Banh Mi (in particular this location) ends up on so many end-of-the-year lists. I've been going to this particular spot for sandwiches since a kid, before it was Pickle Banh Mi--it's been a handful of different Banh Mi places since the original closed down, which was a community favorite, but glad to see such a great shop finally sticking around at this location. It really does feel like it's part of the Cambodia Town community on Anaheim. That being said, I finally got a chance to try their Lomo Saltado Banh Mi--a really interesting concept of a modern fusion sandwich. It was filled with a great Lomo Saltado flavor, a nice mix of sauce, steak, fries, and bell peppers with your usual Banh Mi toppings. It really did feel packed as a sandwich (but it is messy, so just keep that in mind!) I'll never forget the first time I had Lomo Saltado. It was at another Vietnamese restaurant when I had a free weekday. I took my parents who were not quite sure of what to think of it at first. However, as soon as my mom ate it with some rice, she understood the hype. I'll never forget that day not because of the Lomo Saltado, but because we picked the largest mango we've ever seen from our tree that day. It was bigger than my head! It fed us enough mango for a week. Anyways, the Lomo Saltado Banh Mi brought me back to that great day. So, I'd definitely be back here to try their other sandwiches. I'm here probably every other week...or rather, I have a banh mi from here every other week. If I'm not stopping by, then it is my mom who stops by here for me to pick up some banh mi. Whenever my mom walks in the door and her usual server is at the register, they already know what she'll ask and just punches in her order, so I guess I can say my mom is a regular (and I am by extension!) I've never had a bad manh mi from here. My typical order is a #1 Combo with extra meat and extra jalapeno. I've also tried #4, and #12, and they are also super delicious. #4 is the BBQ pork, and #12 is the crispy pork belly. The spring rolls are also freshly made and super delicious. I would recommend the pork sausage spring roll (since that one is my favorite), but the others are also good too! The sausage is freshly grilled, and it has a bit sweet and salty taste to it. It pairs well with the nice crispy crunch you get from the fried egg roll wrappers. However, if you don't like pork sausages, then the pork belly and the pork+shrimp spring rolls are also good choices. The spring rolls are filling but don't feel too heavy, so if you aren't too hungry and just want a quick bite, then the spring rolls are worth a try! Usually, I take everything to go, but there is some indoor seating. However, if you go during the busy lunchtime, you may not have anywhere to sit as the shop is a bit small. I would also say that the parking lot is also small, so you may not find parking if it is busy. I'd definitely say that if you are in the area, it is worth stopping by! read more

I've been here once before for the crispy pork belly banh mi. I liked it, but wasn't a fan of that creamy sauce in it. I like my banh mi dry... no sauce or soggy bread (that's my pet peeve). This time I tried the grilled pork banh mi, nem and banh bao and their Vietnamese milk coffee. A few things about other reviewers commenting- I agree the pickled veggies could be more pickled but this didn't bother me. Also, the Vietnamese coffee isn't the traditional kind but it's because it's a "milk tea". This was fine with me- obviously more mild than Lee's or Da Vien so if you're looking for that crack feeling you should get it there LOL. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. The banh mi is made fresh and it shows. It's perfect. I feel like all their food/ingredients taste fresh... which is refreshing compared to other places.
