I try to always make a stop here when I'm in Long Beach. Loads of places offer banh mi but finding one that's actually good is another thing. I've alway had a good experience here and the sandwich and food has alway been great. It's not a big shop but they do have a little dining area. I feel like it tends to be more of a take out place. Fresh made sandwiches right after you order. Besides sandwiches, they have pre made meals on the counter made throughout the day as well as noddle dishes, rice and meat. I tend to pick up a couple of my usual, the combination banh mi and grilled pork. They do put in a good amount of meat which is alway good. Some place do skimp with that. Also their bao and egg rolls age quite as well. A nice place for Asian food in Long Beach. Service has alway been great. Friendly staff.

Super fast service. I ordered four #1 banh mi and they were really good. My whole family liked them even after a two hour drive home to San Diego they were still delicious. The sandwiches are big, it took me two meals to finish mine. Bread was soft and fresh, lots of meat and veggies. Everything tasted really fresh compared to banh mi in San Diego. Pâté was good but I wish they didn't mix it with the Vietnamese mayo and put it all on one side of the bread. I prefer them separated. We also got sesame balls, they were small but really good and fresh, 2 for $1. Parking wasn't too bad and there were only a couple people inside when we got there. The $8 sandwich is such a good price for how big and good it is. In San Diego it's like $9 and not even as good. Would come back anytime I am in the area!

Love the food here, been to the one in Fountain Valley in Orange County and I fell in love. They have a drive thru there too. Here in Long Beach it's a walk in ambiance spot. Anywho, I love the Grilled Pork Bánh Mì (Thịt Nướng) sandwich. It's super popular, savory and slightly sweet marinated pork. I also got the Vermicelli Bowl (Bún) with grilled chicken (very generous w/the chicken) & it comes with a fresh salad , rice, and fish sauce. The service was fast and the food was nothing short of amazing. Will be back to try more food items.

So happy I finally got to try this place! This sandwich was on my list to try for a while. The pork belly paired with the pickled veggies and cilantro is such a great flavor combination. Savory yet tastes really refreshing. Id definitely recommend coming here for a quick lunch and ordering for pick up. Prices are reasonable and it's in a good central location. Definitely want to try their spring rolls and drinks next time!

Fantastic! Huge banh mi sandwiches with nice crusty bread! We came in on a Sunday and we were luckily enough to beat the rush and to score a table. Clean inside and staff was nice. Had we known now big the sandwiches were, we would have shared but they were both yummy and worth it to try two! Be prepared for crumbs because the bread is perfectly toasted! We had a classic and a grilled chicken, and both were stuffed full of meats and veggies. We also had a Thai coffee that was strong but delicious and a pineapple mint juice which was refreshing and a perfect balance to the Banh Mi.

Staff were super friendly, patient, and supportive. They said yes to offering us a sample of the pineapple mint drink and it was delicious I had to buy a cup of it and try their Vietnamese coffee; Both drinks were a hit. I bought myself a crispy pork Bánh Mi and ordered the Classic Bánh Mi. The classic tasted exactly like a Bánh Mi and the crispy pork Bánh Mi tasted more like a delicious sandwich. Parking can be a little tight. This place was busy and for good reason. I would definitely come back to this place and try other sandwiches.

Being someone who is a fan of banh mis, the grilled pork one from Pickles is definitely one of the best I've ever had. This restaurant puts theirs on a hoagie style bun making it more traditional and savory. Service was quick and easy. I also order 3 other banh mis for friends, the nem nuong they has at the front along with the spring rolls; in the future I would just stick to the banh mis. I also tried their nem chua and it was 7/10. Not as spicy as I would like it.

Food 4/5: BBQ pork was delicious. The meat was flavored perfect, nice portion size as well. The pickled carrots and fresh jalapeño wad good but a bit too sour for my liking. Service 4/5: Nice service, relatively quick. Very friendly staff. Ambiance 4/5: Clean, organized. Small location, great for a quick lunch!

    Considerate waiting bench!

3rd times a charm! Found a seat. Great sandwich #4 Grilled Pork. Great customer service/ interaction especially when not real busy. The interior is basic Asian sandwich place, but it's pretty clean. Nice place to have a lunch or so ....

Rainy day, craving something fast-casual but actually good. Pickle Banh Mi Co hit the spot. What They're Known For This spot is a local favorite for no-frills, authentic Vietnamese banh mi with bold flavors and generous fillings. They're especially known for their house-pickled veggies (that crunch + tang ), and I've seen their banh mi pop up on social feeds for being a great value without cutting corners. Parking Shared lot right out front with a few other businesses (including a 7-Eleven). Easy parking, but just a heads-up: there are often unhoused folks near the 7-Eleven. Vibe / Interior Small, a little rough around the edges, and not the cleanest--but very much a "get in, get fed, get happy" kind of place. A few tables (4-5) if you want to eat there, otherwise very to-go friendly. Good For Takeout, quick bites, and anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese food at a reasonable price. Expect ~$10-15 per person for a sandwich. Noticed a lot of people ordering Thai tea--on my list for next time. Order Ordered ahead via the Toast app (super easy). - Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi - 10/10 - Pork Belly Banh Mi - 10/10 Flavor-packed, perfectly balanced, and incredibly satisfying. Service Fast, efficient, and kind. The cashier even offered to wipe down our table before we ate--small gesture, big points.

Pickle Banh Mi is an incredibly popular spot for a reason! The banh mis and spring rolls are incredibly generous portions. This place gets really busy on the weekends - they have very limited seating for how busy they are, but they have a quick turnover of seats as well. I will admit I gelt a little squished waiting for my order, so if you're getting it to go, it might be best to place your order and then do something else to kill 15-20 minutes and come back for your order. It's a casual restaurant, with a high turnover so you order at the cash register and wait for them to call out your number. Bus your table yourself. The banh mi is huge! It had all the flavors you look for in a typical banh mi. I wish I tasted the pork belly a little more, but overall the sandwich was great! Loved the crispy parts on the pork belly and the bread itself was the perfect texture. 8/10 The pork pastry was SO good! They're only $2.48 per pastry. I highly recommend trying it! The crust is perfectly flaky, and the filling is delicious. 9/10 The spring rolls are huge, great value for the price! I had the shrimp and pork spring roll, it was very solid, there was one perfect bite with my favorite herbs as well, when you get the mint, it really sings. The dipping sauce was good, I added the peanuts. 8/10 There is a parking lot, which was pretty full since this is in a little series of shops, but really parking shouldn't be too much of an issue. I will definitely be back to try the lemon grass beef banh mi and the pork sausage spring rolls!

Found this place about two years ago while in the area. Food is great. There Bahi mi #2 is great. There Goi coun Tom Thit pork/shrimp spring wraps are another great dish. I always buy two orders for me with extra peanut sauce. I always take food to go from here. They have a small eatting area. So no loud noises. Quiet here.

My first time trying Banh Mi, absolutely delicious. #12 had perfect proportions and had great flavor. Only $10 felt like a steal these days too. Definitely will be returning to try more!

The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on. Everything tasted super fresh and the bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. My original plan was to eat half and save the rest for later... yeah, that didn't happen. Ended up finishing the whole thing because it was that good. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the whole spot had a really chill local vibe. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. Highly recommend this place and I'll for sure be back to try more off the menu.

We ordered a couple chopped cheeses, fries, onion rings, and chicken nuggets for the little one. Everything was delicious. The crispiness of all the fries foods were spot on. They offered up some delicious homemade sauces, and their cilantro one is bomb (not spicy but a little tangy). The chopped cheese was melty and delicious, and the bread had a nice chewy texture. Service was friendly and low-key. Food took a little while but was worth the wait. Everything was so good. We will definitely be back!

I've been wanting to try NYC Chop Cheese since they opened. Unfortunately, this first visit was…read morerough enough to make curiosity feel like a mistake. I got the 10-inch chopped cheese combo. The sandwich had a few positives: good amount of beef, tender meat, cheese melted in well and the bread was genuinely great. Soft, chewy, flavorful and easily the best thing here. Everything after that started falling apart. The sandwich was rich and oily but didn't have enough seasoning, acidity or heat to balance it. There were faint hints of cumin and the salt level was fine, but overall it tasted like it was trying to coast on grease. The lettuce and tomato added nothing, and even the cilantro sauce couldn't cut through the oily aftertaste. If you do try it, add onions, pickles and jalapeños because the base sandwich badly needs backup. The fries looked good, then delivered absolutely nothing. Barely seasoned, smaller portion than expected and somehow had a weird burnt aftertaste despite looking normal. That takes effort. Service was the real disaster. The person helping me acted annoyed, like customers were an unfortunate side effect of running a restaurant. The menu board shows combo pricing for some items, like burgers, but not sandwiches, so the chopped cheese combo pricing was unclear. The drink situation was ridiculous. The board says $2.99 for a 24 oz drink and the soda machine was right there, but I was handed a 12 oz can with no heads-up that the machine wasn't available. That's not a substitute. Full size promise for a half-size reality. For $22.03 total, that made the whole combo feel even worse value-wise. Food took almost 30 minutes and it felt like my order sat around until it was convenient to bag it. I only got it when another customer who ordered after me was being helped. Add the flies hanging around the napkins and surfaces and this started feeling less like lunch and more like a health inspection waiting to happen. Parking is rough too since it's on a narrow, busy intersection, though there is paid parking across the street. Overall, the bread was great and the sandwich had potential, but potential doesn't carry bad service, bland fries, unclear pricing, a drink downgrade, a long wait and flies. If the food was amazing, maybe some of this could be overlooked. Nah, too many atrocities happening.

I give it 1 star for the nice owners and family. I give it 1 star for sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying the outside vibe. I give it 1 star for average food. The menu however, has major issues. The bread they use for the garlic bread, the pesto bread, and the pastrami sandwich doesn't hold up. The white part of the bread gets mushy and has a bad texture. That's the case for all hot sandwiches and garlic breads. I recently ordered the chicken parm, and the chicken was cut into small pieces and was burnt. I like my meat cut up in rice dishes such as paella and jambalaya, but cut up chicken parm seems low class and it wasn't great. I also recently ordered the Italian sub. It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average. I don't discourage you from going if you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal on the sidewalk outside in nice weather, but there is literally nothing I've found on their large menu that is above average. The menu is flawed in too many ways. At least the family owners seem to be very nice and that goes a long way in deciding who to give my hard earned money to.
