Honestly want to gatekeep this spot so bad but I wanted to support by leaving an amazing review. Stumbled across Pho 881 while wanting to try a new spot in Long Beach. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I still haven't been able to try an good spot in Long Beach in 2025 but this spot was so authentic and a definition of a hole in a wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would definitely return back. Upon arriving, we got there a little close near closing but thankfully they were able to sit us. Looking at the prices, it's such a good deal at $12 for a regular and $14 for a large bowl. With prices of food now, this isn't bad at all. I got the large #2 Pho Tai, Rare steak. It was a big portion and the broth was perfect. Parking here is very tough, it's in a small lot but you can find parking in the residential area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super good even on a hot day![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast and so kind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not busy at all which was also a plus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pho was amazing, maybe just needed a little more salt? Other than that it was perfect. Would definitely come back

Phenomenal Pho Restaurant!! Came on a Sunday afternoon and the Pho is the best I've had in Long Beach!. I got the P08 with brisket and rare steak. My soup came out within 2 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Vibe is so raw and authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You know it's real when you have uncles and aunties making sauces and cleaning basil in the table in front[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] o

Ordered brisket pho and 30 seconds later it arrived at my table! Broth is good aromatic and has flavor not too sweet nice hot broth just what i needed i wasnt feeling good so it did the job. This was the large size they have 2 choices small ($12) or large ($14) not bad They were not stingy with the noodles too which was great since a lot of places skimp you out. Decent amount of brisket and decent quality too. And of course it came with the usual suspects a plate of veg (thai basil bean sprout lime) Little spot in a plaza i recommend

Pho 881 sits in a small neighborhood plaza right off Anaheim and Junipero, with plenty of easy parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walk inside and--on this Saturday, January 3rd--it's still decorated for Christmas, which somehow adds to the cozy, unpretentious vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's around 2:30 p.m. and the place is packed, which is always a great sign.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the chicken pho with ginger sauce and the brisket & rare steak pho. You get the classic sides--lime, bean sprouts, basil--and we also added the crispy egg rolls, which came out hot and crunchy with a satisfying bite. The pho arrived piping hot, deeply aromatic, and comforting in that way only a well-made broth can be. They give you chopsticks for the noodles and a large spoon for the soup--exactly how it should be. The portions are generous, especially for the price. Around $12 gets you a big, steaming bowl that feels like a full meal, not a tease. The broth is clean, rich, and balanced--not greasy, not salty--perfect for a cold, rainy Long Beach day on the Cambodia side of town. I took my time with it, savoring all the layers of flavor, especially after adding sriracha and hoisin (which is absolutely the move here). The beef was tender, the rare steak cooked perfectly in the hot broth, and the noodles held up all the way through. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What really stood out was the atmosphere. There's mellow, calming music playing in the background that makes the whole lunch experience feel peaceful and grounding--no rush, no noise chaos, just people enjoying good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Come hungry. They give you a lot of food, and it's the kind of meal that's hard to stop eating even when you're full. Pho 881 delivers comfort, consistency, and value--exactly what you want from a neighborhood pho spot.

The best pho I've had!! The special combo noodle soup was the perfect bowl containing all different types of delicious meats. The veggies and meats tasted fresh, the broth was silky and seasoned perfectly. Thai iced tea was very flavorful. I got the regular sized bowl for $12 which was more than enough to stay full for hours. Owner was sweet and welcoming, casual place that makes you feel like if you're eating at home. Wholesome home cooking! Parking was easy since this restaurant is in a shopping plaza.

My husband and I were in the Long Beach area for an appointment and needed a quick bite. We found Pho 881 on Yelp. It's in a strip mall with decent parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is rather basic and traditional looking, but seems clean and spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a mom and pop restaurant with the owner and another helper serving and the lady in the kitchen. She came out occasionally when not busy. Since we arrived a little before 11am, it was not busy yet, We ordered a two piece Egg Rolls, a large Special Combo Pho with two extra meatballs, and a regular Hainan Chicken with Fried Jasmine Rice. Portions were really generous and we took home about half the chicken and most of the Fried Rice! Egg Rolls were really delicious. The Pho broth was very tasty and didn't make me thirsty (so not much MSG). There was a good variety of meats in the bowl, I especially liked the tendon. The Fried Rice that came with the Hainan Chicken was very good. The chicken was average. The menu said that it was supposed to come with a small salad and the chicken was supposed to be dark meat. In reality the chicken was a combo white and dark meat, and we didn't get a salad. I'm sure they would have brought it if we asked, but we didn't because there was already too much food for the two of us. Overall, it was a very good and quick meal. All the food came out within ten minutes. The owner was really friendly and nice. Prices were very reasonable and portions were very generous. They do charge 2% for credit card use.

Food: broth was delicious!!! Service: friendly and attentive. Ambiance: you're in the ghetto, so it was just simple.

So I was craving some pho when I was under the weather a couple months ago and found out this place accepted EBT! As a single mom, that was amazing news! So I checked it out! (Drove by many times and never knew!) They are such nice and kind people! The food is awesome! Big portions! So come hungry or split with someone. I always get the combo pho because it has all the meats. Then I added the beef balls today. I need protein since I worked out. Definitely try the spring rolls and egg rolls! Mmmm! So yummy! Kids love it too! My son and his buddy came with me one time and they ate it all! I like ordering a side of onions and drizzling it with sriracha and the hoisin sauce! Like a Vietnamese version of kimchi, I guess! Enjoy! Thank you for being such a great spot and great service always!

he ended up charging me for both of these

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience here was so uncomfortable that I feel compelled to warn others. I came in alone, feeling under the weather, specifically looking for pho with oxtail. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was empty when I arrived. From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel uneasy. The owner was seated in the corner and appeared to make comments to his employees while staring and giggling, which was especially uncomfortable as I was the only woman and only guest at the time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered oxtail pho and a Thai tea. When the soup arrived, there were only two very small pieces of oxtail. I politely asked if I could pay extra to add more oxtail, money was not the issue at all. Instead of answering me directly, the owner responded aggressively (even without understanding the language, the tone was very clear) and had another employee tell me that if I wanted more oxtail, I'd have to purchase an entirely separate bowl for $14. I explained that I didn't want another bowl of noodles, just additional meat, and was still willing to pay. The answer was a flat no. At that point, I already felt unwelcome. The Thai tea arrived looking extremely pale, and unfortunately tasted like plain milk. When I politely mentioned this to the server, the owner abruptly stepped in with "What's the problem?" in a very rude tone. I was visibly uncomfortable and addressed the server instead. They replaced the tea, but the interaction was tense and unpleasant. When I finally tried the oxtail, it was cold, dry, and very tough, not tender at all i'm pretty sure it was frozen like five minutes prior to them putting it in the bowl. I couldn't even finish one of the pieces. By this time a couple entered and sat in front of me. My bowl was overloaded with noodles, which may appeal to some people, but it doesn't make up for poor-quality meat. To make matters worse, I was charged $30 at the end and was not shown a receipt. I did not feel comfortable questioning it, I just wanted to leave. As someone who works in the service industry, this experience was shocking. The owner was hostile, dismissive, and created an environment that felt intimidating and inappropriate. Watching him model this behavior to younger employees was disappointing. I do not recommend this restaurant, especially for women dining alone. No guest should ever feel uncomfortable, pressured, or disrespected the way I was.

My friend and I shared a variety of dishes: -Student Noodle: If chow mein and pad thai had a baby, this would be that dish. Without the fish sauce, the noodles tasted like chow mein. This dish overall was good! While I would still opt for pad thai, the noodle texture was good and I enjoyed the flavors. We got this with crispy pork and it was tasty, but I wish it was crispier. I liked how it wasn't too fatty. -Fish Amok: It did not look like the picture, but the dish was still good. It was a sweet fish curry which was sweet from the coconut milk. This was tasty and the fish was soft. It wasn't fishy at all. This paired well with the rice. I would still opt for a savory curry though. -Beef Skewers: These were yummy and I enjoyed the charred flavor of these! The flavor was very similar to Filipino skewers. I liked how even the fatty parts were enjoyable. Steamed Rice: Fluffy and not mushy which I liked. It came served in this cute rice bucket which preserved the heat of it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was pretty clean. Bathrooms available which were also clean. The service was good and attentive. There's lots of free parking in the lot in front. Overall, a solid Cambodian restaurant that's worth checking out in the Long Beach area!

Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.
