The short rib falls off the bone and is so tasty. Amazing portion size as well. -Che Thai: I love all of their desserts. I've been coming here for about 5 years. It is a family favorite and the food is consistently delicious. I've tried several dishes here! One of the photos is the chicken pho with extra veggies. The broth is magic, anytime I feel a chill in my bones or a cough coming I make my way over. The fried rice and shaken beef are also quite tasty. The fried rice has a smoky flavor that leaves a lasting impression. This place doesn't disappoint. My favorite drink is one called an avocado soup. It has fresh avocado on the bottom, clear boba and a variety of jellies. It is so fun to eat! Even the alcoholic beverages are good. I was in the area with friends and wanted a place to eat dinner and found this restaurant via Yelp that looked good and it didnt disappoint. The ambience and seating was good where we were seated and allowed for conversation at normal volume and not overhearing others conversation. The selection of appetizers, entrees and drinks was really good. We got fresh spring rolls to share which were great especially because I love anything with peanut (dipping sauce). We all decided to get pho. I went with the Pho Bo (pictured, beef broth based) which came with a choice of three meats (beef based) from a selection of six and I got the steak, flank and brisket. This was just the meal for me to get on a cold and rainy night. I got the large which was more than enough portion size (I have half th broth left over). I also got a drink, the matcha Coco latte which I really enjoyed, it was creamy but not to heavy nor sweet and while it was a iced drink it didn't leave me cold.The staff were nice, attentive and helped with recommendations. Life is Short. F.....it up! Family, Flavor, Friends. Funny story we saw that day and wanted to go to pho 89. But then looked it up and it was closed and we were in the parking lot at pho 98. Nice clean atmosphere good service at the shrimp toast fresh spring roll. The pork chop w egg the pho special and the special bun (noodles). This place was so good I came back the very next week! First time I got Pho Ga (chicken soup) I opted for the extra veggies with the noodles and it was very fresh and delicious. They serve free tea and the large was too. If for me to finish.. I would get the small next time. On my second visit I got the yellow noodles with chicken (think Lo Mien) it had nice heat with the flavor and my mouth was tingling! What a great neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant! Love the fact that they open at 10 AM daily! There is a private parking lot at the front of the restaurant, so come early to find a good spot. The menu is expansive, which is typical of Vietnamese places. The inside is spacious. And the air quality is good right at opening by mid-day. CO2 was under 800. The service is very friendly! Food is served fast. I tried the small size of pho, and it had a good amount of noodles. I also tried the broken rice with Korean bbq, and it was delicious! Highly recommend it! The price is a bit "high" but reasonable considering the greater Boston places for Vietnamese places. I would say 4 stars overall, but bumping it up to 5 stars to support local businesses. Egg coffee is a Vietnamese drink traditionally prepared with robusta coffee with sugar, sweetened condensed milk with egg yolks whisked in. It might be hard to imagine, but strangely enough the egg yolks actually start tasting like soft and creamy meringue in your coffee. It's delicious drink that's well known in Vietnam . Great Vietnamese restaurant in the suburbs of Boston! I ordered my go to Pho with rare steak, tripe, and tendon. The side ingredients (bean sprouts, Thai basil, and thai chili pepper) were fresh! I actually was anticipated sliced jalapeños, but the thai chili pepper was definitely better. I ordered a large and the portions were generous. Whenever I order tendon, I usually get small thinly sliced tendon portions. But Pho 98 gave thick large tendon portions! I asked the server if I could get some Hanh Dam (sliced onions with vinegar) and he hooked it up. I like to add sriracha and a dash of hoisin to Hanh Dam, which makes it like Vietnamese "kimchi". Pho 98 is a traditional Vietnamese restaurant, so please don't expect crab rangoons and such. There was a table behind me that wanted Americanized food items that you would find at an Americanized Chinese restaurant. My two cents, if you're non-Asian, just order something off the actual menu and enjoy the Vietnamese cuisine. If you need recommendations, then ask the server. I was quite impressed with the server being very accommodating though! Oh and Pho is pronounced "fuh", not "foe". If I'm back in Boston again, and craving some hot noodle soup, then you'll see me eating some Pho while watching football with the employees. read more

We ordered delivery from the resturant around 5:00pm on a Friday night. Food arrived on schedule. I ordered a Flat Noodle dish with Seafood (Shrimp, scallops, fish cake and squid). The vegetables included were flavorful and crispy. The scallops were delicious, the shrimp were passable, I could not identify a "Fish Cake" and the squid was like chewing on a rubber boot. The flat noodles were pasty, stuck together and overall disappointing. We also ordered some egg rolls and they were delicious. My wife ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and I tasted it and it was flavorless, but that is most likely because my wife ordered it with no spice. She enjoyed her dish. read more

I had a very pleasant dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant was pretty busy but we were seated quickly. Staff were nice and attentive. The restaurant seemed very clean and everything at the table was well stocked. I got the banh can cua which I very highly recommend! My family members were happy with their dishes (vermicelli with grilled pork and egg roll and pho bo). We also got the mango milk shake and lychee milk shake which were good. My family and I have been ordering delivery from this restaurant for many years, sometimes more than once a week. We chose Pho 98 because their food was consistently excellent and they delivered to us very quickly and accurately. It therefore pains me to report on a downward trend we are noticing. Over the last few months or so, we'd had bits and pieces of our orders missing. I rolled with it as "stuff happens". However, couple this trend with the ever-increasing prices and these little mistakes become more noticeable and more difficult to tolerate. Tonight we ordered several items and all but one had a problem: - Pork chop on rice: never came - 2 Pork and shrimp spring roll orders: all were missing pork - 2 XL Phos: both were missing sprouts, basil, sauces and all the other fixings - Chicken wings: arrived as ordered (phew) I called the restaurant and was greeted by a nice woman. I explained the situation to her and it sounds like they realized they had forgotten the pork chop, but had trouble reaching the DoorDash driver. She was surprised by the other problems I listed. She recommended I complain about the order via the DoorDash app and get some money back. I did and got $33 out of $100 back. Keep in mind that I never received the pork dish, which accounts for $14 of that $33. So one of the members of my family didn't get their dinner, the rest got something that was "off" and they refunded me $18 or so for the inconvenience. I dunno...pretty disappointed. I wish the restaurant had made more effort to fix this. They passed it off to DoorDash, but the food was prepared incorrectly. That's a restaurant problem; not a delivery problem. Again, we order here A LOT, and I hate writing critical reviews of places I like, but there were just too many mistakes tonight and too little reaction to those mistakes for me to ignore it. I hope you get back on track, Pho 98. I look forward to ordering from you once you do. read more

Love the pho noodle bowls here. Takeout from this location is also excellent. The broth, noodles, veggie and meat are all packaged separately to be easily combined once home. It makes for the perfect meal on a cold winter night, which I love! Service is always very friendly and prompt. The spring rolls are also excellent, as well as the alcohol mixed drinks. I seriously wish I could give this place a zero star I spent $48 on a soup and a dish,I ordered lemongrass chicken(THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG ORDER) it looked like it was in a soup of oil. Good Vietnamese food--it has steadily improved over the years. Excellent vermicelli plates (with grilled pork and shrimp paste was dynamite). Their spring rolls (goi cuon) are ok. Not enough flavor or crunch inside (I'm accustomed to Cambodian nime chow). We came here for lunch with the family. We have the sliced raw beef w peanuts and pickled daikon & carrot, rice cakes w dried shrimp & fish sauce, congee soup, and chicken clay pot. What was a waste was the congee soup, it was just broth and rice with no flavor. As if they boiled water without salt or flavored stock w rice. We had to season the rice soup ourselves with fish sauce, hot oil, sugar, and lime. Would not order this again! Chicken clay pot was alright, I hear the seafood one is better. However, my niece does not like seafood that's why we ordered chicken to share. The flavor taste like regular stir fry, I wasn't "wow'd." The appetizers are prob my favorite and that's why it's 3 stars. Full of flavor and taking a bite of the beef salad with shrimp crackers was to die for.
