I've had various versions of their pho, as well as their Goi Cuon Tom Thit (fresh spring rolls with pork and shrimp) and both of them were incredible. The large bowl of pho is more than enough to feed one, and it comes in tasty bone broth, with noodles, and a large side plate of bean sprouts, lime, basil, and chili oil on the side. The fresh spring rolls with pork and shrimp were even better I'd say. Their favor was incredible, and the peanut sauce they're served with is one of the best peanut sauces I've had in years. Been here a few times over the years and have had the chance to try multiple dishes that I'd typically get when going to any Viet restaurant. I tried the broken rice with pork chop, pork skin, and pork egg cake, lemongrass chicken, pho with eye round and brisket, bun bo hue, and both of their spring roll offerings. Every dish came out quick and in large quality portions. The broth in both noodle soups were very good and the bun bo hue wasn't too spicy and was full of lemongrass flavor. The pork chop was a bit tougher than I'm used to and I did not like the pork skin, but the lemongrass chicken was juicy and tender. Just keep in mind that it takes 15-20 minutes to prepare the chicken dish. The service is quick and friendly and they have a button you can press in order to get the waiter's attention even though they're always walking around anyway. Overall a solid spot for Viet food in an area loaded with good Viet places. I'm going to have to give the pork chop another try because it's typically one of my favorites. read more

I have been to Pho 89 several times over the years. My most recent visit (on a very cold December day) I had ordered the Sweet and Sour soup with catfish, which was outstanding. Loads of fresh pineapple, with okra and fresh mung beans, celery and ample chunks of catfish. With sliced hot Vietnamese peppers, i was properly warmed. I also had the teriyaki beef, which is barbecued, with chopped peanuts and green onions, and is very authentic Vietnamese street food. Of course, the pho is always excellent, but their ban cheou is a savory crepe that comes stuffed with chicken and shrimp, with fish sauce and mung beans on a bed of lettuce, and is very satisfying and delicious. There's probably not a week that goes by that I don't order from there. Super solid Viet restaurant that I've come to rely on especially on the weeknights as a last minute takeout option. My repeat favorite is their vermicelli bowls with the sugarcane shrimp and my daughters love their chicken rice plates as well as the appetizer. Portions are so huge, you can even pack the rest for lunch the next day. A large group of us came to Pho 89 and everything was great. They have a expansive menu and all the food was delicious. I got the bun ba mau (#73) and it was great with a good portion of protein. I also got their vietnamese iced coffee with milk (ca phe sua da): a little too sweet for me and has more chicory notes than usual. Service was great. Our waiter came to check on us often, and we got everything in a timely matter. They have two levels of seating and a private parking lot. The restaurant has a nice decor with plenty of seating available at two levels. The restaurant seems to be quite popular as the attached parking lot was quite full and so were the tables inside on a Saturday evening. Pick up service was prompt and the food was ready on time. The price point although slightly pricier than similar Vietnamese restaurants around seemed to match the quality and quantity offered. The soups were decently good. #55 is all imitation crab meat and other sea food and did not contain real crab meat.it was also medium level spicy. #40 was spicy to the right level.
