    Bun Bi Cha Gio

We ordered dinner to go so can't say how the ambience is. But the lady who answered the phone was very kind. Originally we wanted a bahn mi for our child because we thought we saw it on their menu, but she said they didn't have any. Oh well. What we got: Bun bi cha gio - Love a noodle salad! The sauce was flavorful and considerately put on the side so you mix in as much or as little as you like. There wasn't much pork in it, but it tasted great. The egg roll that comes with it is cut up and has a great crispy texture. I really liked all the chopped peanuts in it too. Wish there was more pickled carrots and daikon and mint and cilantro in it though. But otherwise, a solid bun. Pho tai nam - The broth for this is so aromatic and flavorful without being overpowering. Really nice clean broth that both kids liked. We also tried to order a Vietnamese coffee, but they didn't have any...maybe they just don't make any at dinner? Or maybe they just ran out. Take that as you may if you're looking for a pick-me-up later in the day.

I'm shocked that I have not commented on how tasty this place is. I've been getting pho from here for years and it was my 1st favorite pho spot in Indy. I still think their broth holds up to all of the new competition. They serve both Vietnamese and Chinese American dishes. Everything that I've gotten has been delicious. There is a indoor eating area which is small but the staff is efficient so dining in or takeout are great options. This evening I walked in 20min before close and walked out 10min later with tasty food to share with my family. I got tofu appetizers #6, crab Rangoon, Szechuan shrimp, and pho tai. All were good. I also absolutely love their egg rolls #7 spring rolls #10 and was disappointed I forgot to order them. This place is definitely worth a try they even have vegetarian pho!!

Best Vietnamese food in Indy! I've been going here for years and the quality of their food never changes. The food comes out quickly and the service is good. They have so many options even some Chinese and Japanese entrees. They have the best pho Indy, but honestly everything on the menu tastes amazing!

I have been coming here for YEARS. Still disappointed they no longer offer Banh Boc Loc. It's not exactly an easy thing to make and must be made much in advance and that I guess I'll have to accept as they were the only Vietnamese restaurant that served this doughy south Vietnamese dish. But I have a suggestion! Maybe feature it once in a while! I hate to never have it again . This hidden gem has some of the best AUTHENTIC dishes so you must try it! I travel across town just to enjoy the delicious food!

When it's cold outside, this is the place for you. Wanna try something new? Order 107 : spicy version of pho : you can change to egg noodle Let me know what you think after you try some. Love this place. Love the owner. First place I went on a date with my husband. We dine here almost once a week.

I'm always hesitant to try new places for pho, I've just had too many bland broths. Not here! This is a light , explosive flavor kinda broth ... the kind where you ask "how tf did they do that!" Kinda broth! To put it simply, this has now become one of my favorite pho stops! We also had crab Rangoon and agedashi tofu, both absolutely delicious! Relaxed ambiance, good service, and great food!

After a beautiful evening enjoying Winterlights at Newfields, we found King Wok thanks to Yelp. Such a great find! Everything we ordered was delicious. Some standouts include the vegetarian pho, fried rice and Vietnamese coffee. The pho was full of flavor with lots of fresh veggies. So yummy! The fried rice was light and not greasy at all. The coffee was the perfect blend of sweet and strong. Service was a little slow, but they were quite busy and obviously making everything fresh. I will return here for sure!

Highly recommend this place if you want authentic bun bo hue. Not many Vietnamese restaurants in indy sell this dish so I was so happy to find out that they do at this location. The waitress was nice and did not rush us out when we were eating.

Have been here a couple of times and it's always delicious. We usually stick to the viet side of the menu (except the crab Rangoon) - most recently had the Bun Bo Hue and the Hu Tieu Xao Thap Cam (79) and the Vietnamese pork fried egg rolls. Yummmmm. Huge portions and quick service.

Still great pho and other Vietnamese food after the pandemic as it was before. A little better than Saigon down the street. The standard #100 (pho dac biet) is great, served with plenty of basil, and they actually cooked the tripe the right way! The #105 (pho ga) is also delicious. You can't really go wrong here.

We just wanted some decent Asian food after a long day, and unfortunately were disappointed. I got the General Tso chicken, and while the sauce was really good, the chicken was over fried and tough. I ate it because I was really hungry, but if I had to order there again, I would not.

What is the sauce that comes with the lemongrass tofu rice dish?

I would imagine it is fish sauce. I know they used to serve it with the lemongrass chicken.

There's plenty of seating and service was great. As I looked through the menu the dish that stood out to me was the thịt kho trứng (caramelized pork and egg rice dish). This isn't a dish that is usually in menus. It's a special dish made at home usually reserved for the lunar new year. After living away from family for a year now, this dish felt like a piece of home and comfort. The flavor of the pork egg dish is absolutely delicious. While this dish is typically supposed to be made with pork belly, chef Ricky substitutes it with pork shoulder for a more familiar taste/texture to our Midwestern community. I'm not mad honestly. The meat was so tender and pulls apart easily to eat with the rice which means it was braised long enough. I only ate half of the serving as it feels like a generous serving. I enjoyed that it was paired with slides tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and pickles veggies. The only thing missing was the nước chấm dipping sauce. The chè ba màu three color dessert is also another home away from home dish that instantly brings me back to my mom's house. The pandan jelly, red beans, coconut sauce and mung bean combine together so well and it was definitely a splurge to enjoy something so delicious. Thanks for a cozy, comforting meal. I'll definitely be back again when I'm feeling home sick.

Unfortunately almost everything was disgusting. The shrimp on the stick was enjoyed by her, the egg rolls were gross. She liked the cooked octopus but I really didn't even enjoy the pho , everything was like warm or not cooked all the way, for the rice paper rolls came out and served with UNDERCOOKED PORK!! Who is eating cold pork that is pink in the middle? like the entire middle was pink! Not a small part of the pork. We noticed mold on the desert and immediately asked for the check. The best thing out of the tasting experience was the pork bon and even that was lukewarm. All in all I would say this place could be good for people who havnt tried Vietnamese food, but for someone to go as far as having egotistical writings on the wall with his name after them....like some kind of phenomenal chef....you at least have to know how to cook pork. Every meat dish was either over seasoned, or undercooked. Our server Ursula was actually the best thing and even made our day. She will make you smile super funny and loved her company. Lastly, one thing I would mention....my gf has serious pet dander allergies....and there was not a single animal in that restaurant, once she tried the pork on the stick...immediately started sneezing, coughing, and had trouble breathing....take with that what you will....(could be using certain meats) long story short we wouldn't come here if you paid us.

The portion arrived looking like something the Jedi Council would have sent as a diplomatic gift. The rib meat was falling off the bone in the way that only happens when someone in that kitchen actually paid attention, tender, rich, and worth every credit of the $30 price tag. They bring the usual sides: bean sprouts, sliced jalapenos, lime wedges, and fresh basil. They also brought out a small plate and a knife to handle the rib, which was a thoughtful touch that saved me from an otherwise undignified situation. Once the meat was cut and ready I did what any serious pho person does and built my dipping sauce on the small plate: chili oil, a small amount of sriracha, and hoisin. I am told that this is the traditional way to approach pho. You preserve the integrity of the broth and dip your noodles, meat, and vegetables as you go. Dumping everything into the bowl is a valid personal choice, but it is not the way of the Jedi. My son stuck with the reliable Pho Special plus extra noodles at $16 plus $2 for the extra noodles, which remains the best value play on the menu for a bowl that genuinely satisfies. Neither of us left disappointed, which at Pho Tasty is essentially a guarantee at this point. Five stars, no hesitation. The #29 is a special occasion bowl. The house special is an every visit bowl. Both are missions worth repeating. The Force is strong here.
