Authentic Vietnamese family run business, pho was great. Staff were super attentive to our large group and very friendly. The wooden tables and wall decorations remind me of my bà ngoại's home.

It really doesn't look like much from the outside and the surrounding area also looks a bit run down. However, a visit here is well worth it. Inside it looks more like an old bar, with an actual bar taking up most of the front part of the restaurant. Towards the back is a lot more seating as well as a karaoke stage. The whole place looks a bit outdated, BUT... the food is great. The menu is quite extensive and I had a tough time deciding what to go with. I really enjoyed my spring rolls and my bowl of rice noodles with beef, not sure of the official name. The server continuously refilled our waters and was always ready to fulfill all of our needs. The portions here are very generous and the prices were really affordable. Come here for the great food, not the ambiance.

This is one of my favorite places in Indy! The service is so quick for both takeout and dine in and the people are so sweet. The restaurant is definitely a hole in the wall, but it does the job and the food is so good and authentic!

The stewed catfish is absolutely fire--so flavorful and cooked perfectly, with rich seasoning that really stands out. It's easily the highlight of the meal and something I'd order again. The spring rolls are also good and make a nice, light starter before the main dish. The restaurant itself is very quiet and clean, which makes it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy your food without feeling rushed. Service is very fast, and everything comes out quickly while still tasting fresh. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth coming back for.

Yes it's worth it! Banh Beo (B4) is excellent! It's soooo good. Im coming back just for this. I think I just found my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Indy. Their vermicelli with beef and egg roll (34 Bun Thor Heo) is delicious too but the Banh Beo is the star. I practically ate the whole appetizer by myself even though it's a sharing dish. Pho-ever shirt from the woman is a lovely touch and the really cool grandpa who took my order was really kind and friendly. You can tell this is a beloved family own place. I'll definitely come back.

Great for Any Meal. These fresh spring rolls are perfect for a quick snack or light meal. Healthy, flavorful, and easy to eat!

I had the chicken pho, and it was delightful! The food and service were great. They offered all of the "fixins" that come traditionally with pho, and were generous with the portion. The environment was relaxed, not rushed, and enjoyable!

Our foodie group decided to have a late lunch at Pho 21 on a Sunday afternoon. Pho 21 is on East 21st Street in the Arlington area close to downtown. It is a Vietnamese restaurant located in a rundown strip mall, but do not let the location fool you or steer you away, because it is a great place for Vietnamese food. The ambiance reminded me of an old sports bar that went down under because they had a nice bar in the middle of the restaurant with wooden tables and chairs all around the place and wood paneling on the walls. There are very nice plants in the foyer as you walk into the restaurant, so it does give the place some character. The menu is extensive and prices are very reasonable. I ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer and the rice plate with chicken, ginger, and veggies. I ordered an iced tea to drink and received what looked like hot green tea poured over ice in a glass. It was actually very good, so I was not complaining. The food was excellent and was impressive. My spring rolls tasted great with the dipping sauce and my rice plate was fantastic and a very big portion. Everyone in our group had big portions and was very happy with their food. One person ordered chicken wraps and had to roll her own wraps with the chicken and side items provided to her, and it was entertaining to see her try to roll the chicken wrap. The service is decent for what you get is all I can say about Pho 21. There were two young gentlemen taking care of us the entire time and they were nice and professional. They kept our water glass full of water and made sure we had everything we need which is all that we wanted. I was happy with my dining experience at Pho 21 and would recommend coming here for the food because it is definitely worth the price and it will not hurt your bank account at all. Good food at a good price is all you can ask for and it is here at Pho 21.

This place is delicious! My mom and I often frequent this one for our "pho Sundays". The service is quick and attentive and my order is always correct. The pho is always flavorful with a large portion and the prices are not bad at all. Recommend!

I ordered a Banh Mi at the counter and the clerk was patient as I pondered the menu. I paid at the counter then was given a number and found a seat. Soft music plays overhead. There is some comfy seating, but I chose a table. There is interesting decor to admire while I wait. My Meatball Bahn Mi (sandwich) came out quickly and smelled super fresh. I love the blend of cilantro, carrots and jalapeños with the meatballs. The sauce is spicy sweet and the bread fresh and chewy. The sandwich is perfect. I wanted to try one of their mochi donuts or a smoothie, but I'm watching calories. I will be back a different day for an ubi mochi donut. Restrooms are clean and modern. There's plenty of seating and service was great. As I looked through the menu the dish that stood out to me was the thịt kho trứng (caramelized pork and egg rice dish). This isn't a dish that is usually in menus. It's a special dish made at home usually reserved for the lunar new year. After living away from family for a year now, this dish felt like a piece of home and comfort. The flavor of the pork egg dish is absolutely delicious. While this dish is typically supposed to be made with pork belly, chef Ricky substitutes it with pork shoulder for a more familiar taste/texture to our Midwestern community. I'm not mad honestly. The meat was so tender and pulls apart easily to eat with the rice which means it was braised long enough. I only ate half of the serving as it feels like a generous serving. I enjoyed that it was paired with slides tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and pickles veggies. The only thing missing was the nước chấm dipping sauce. The chè ba màu three color dessert is also another home away from home dish that instantly brings me back to my mom's house. The pandan jelly, red beans, coconut sauce and mung bean combine together so well and it was definitely a splurge to enjoy something so delicious. Thanks for a cozy, comforting meal. I'll definitely be back again when I'm feeling home sick.

Unfortunately almost everything was disgusting. The shrimp on the stick was enjoyed by her, the egg rolls were gross. She liked the cooked octopus but I really didn't even enjoy the pho , everything was like warm or not cooked all the way, for the rice paper rolls came out and served with UNDERCOOKED PORK!! Who is eating cold pork that is pink in the middle? like the entire middle was pink! Not a small part of the pork. We noticed mold on the desert and immediately asked for the check. The best thing out of the tasting experience was the pork bon and even that was lukewarm. All in all I would say this place could be good for people who havnt tried Vietnamese food, but for someone to go as far as having egotistical writings on the wall with his name after them....like some kind of phenomenal chef....you at least have to know how to cook pork. Every meat dish was either over seasoned, or undercooked. Our server Ursula was actually the best thing and even made our day. She will make you smile super funny and loved her company. Lastly, one thing I would mention....my gf has serious pet dander allergies....and there was not a single animal in that restaurant, once she tried the pork on the stick...immediately started sneezing, coughing, and had trouble breathing....take with that what you will....(could be using certain meats) long story short we wouldn't come here if you paid us.

The portion arrived looking like something the Jedi Council would have sent as a diplomatic gift. The rib meat was falling off the bone in the way that only happens when someone in that kitchen actually paid attention, tender, rich, and worth every credit of the $30 price tag. They bring the usual sides: bean sprouts, sliced jalapenos, lime wedges, and fresh basil. They also brought out a small plate and a knife to handle the rib, which was a thoughtful touch that saved me from an otherwise undignified situation. Once the meat was cut and ready I did what any serious pho person does and built my dipping sauce on the small plate: chili oil, a small amount of sriracha, and hoisin. I am told that this is the traditional way to approach pho. You preserve the integrity of the broth and dip your noodles, meat, and vegetables as you go. Dumping everything into the bowl is a valid personal choice, but it is not the way of the Jedi. My son stuck with the reliable Pho Special plus extra noodles at $16 plus $2 for the extra noodles, which remains the best value play on the menu for a bowl that genuinely satisfies. Neither of us left disappointed, which at Pho Tasty is essentially a guarantee at this point. Five stars, no hesitation. The #29 is a special occasion bowl. The house special is an every visit bowl. Both are missions worth repeating. The Force is strong here.
