Pork and shrimp spring rolls!
Stefany B.

What a hidden gem! We came in for groceries and left with a full belly. Good authentic Vietnamese food. Sad they don't offer Pho Ga but the spring rolls were HUGE!! Fresh ingredients are a must and they nailed it! Hard to find good peanut sauce too- not sure why- but theirs is delish! We did the pork and egg fried rice too. Excellent value- you get enough to feed three people. The grocery store is CLEAN and well stocked. We will for sure be back. Check out the HUGE thrift store next door while you're there. Always find something when I go. PSA- it's not really in the best area, really close to the central bus line (read into that detail) and there was a panhandler outside that no one seemed to mind.

Best pho around Charleston. The flavor is incredible. Don't expect foo foo service. The lady there is all business. Know what you want when she comes to your table. The place is inside a grocery store. But the pho is excellent. I try to go there every time I am in Charleston.

I've been coming here for years now. I make a point to come maybe twice a year just because its so far from me. The flavor in everything they cook is always phenomenal. I've never had a bad review towards their food. I am doing another review today because our last two visits have been...different. By different I mean the attitude of the young lady who takes the orders and brings the food out. I feel that each time, the service has progressed poorly unfortunately. I understand everyone has bad days and I understand it might not be personally directed towards us. I just hope that new customers understand that also and not hold her bad days against her. I try to be as transparent as possible with my reviews and I hope this one reminds everyone, we are human and sometimes people just have bad days. I've noticed the last two times, business has picked up since covid so I hope this is helping them overall. I will always drive the hour for this place!

Felt like I had left the country on this experience. Realizing there is an amazing grocery shopping experience specializing in Asian cuisine was a much added bonus. The kitchen is so clean and since it's open you can see everything going on. Very fresh and authentic delicious food!

The pho was great little weird to be eating it inside a super market but definitely hit the spot, also the Vietnamese rolls were delicious.

Pork chops. Used to be grilled with flavor. Now it's just fried.

This place has changed ownership and cooks since last time I came here. I normally go to their location at Phuong Vietnamese down the street but they were closed so I came back here. No change on the inside. The spring roll was good especially when you get two of them. My pork chop was fried. I was not expecting it to be that way. Normally it's grilled. It wasn't bad just not what I was expecting. I actually tried my Mom's Fried Noodle w/Shrimp. It wasn't as flavorful as it has been before but it want bad. I actually liked it. My mother on the other hand didn't.

P2 pho tai

Best pho I've found so far in Charleston! Closest thing to what I've had in queens & Hanoi. We both ordered the p2 pho tai which was rare beef slices over noodles and it was just divine. AND you can't beat the price (huge bowl for $9.) we'll be back!

The best price, portions and just a great pho. I'm not going to talk about their service or how clean they are because their price and food is good enough to Not care about anything else. (It's not horrible but they just clean the table, take your order and bring you the bill. That's it)

This place is average at best. Gets the job done. Prices have gone up ridiculously. Pho is mediocre.

Thai Palm in North Charleston absolutely deserves five stars. From start to finish, the experience…read morewas fantastic. The food was amazing--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I started with the pork dumplings (gyoza), which were perfectly cooked tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. For my main, I had the Pho Thai Palm noodle soup, and it was outstanding. The broth was rich and aromatic, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-balanced. It's the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service. If you're craving great Thai food in the area, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back.

Stopped in today to treat myself to some Thai. Place is lovely on the inside with a lot of…read morepersonality shining through rather than "generic Asian restaurant". My server was friendly, food came out at a reasonable speed but I could tell it was cooked fresh. I ordered chicken satay and chicken pad thai. The satay was nicely grilled and the peanut sauce had a good cilantro flavor to it. The pad Thai I ordered medium on the hotness and was a bit hotter than I expected medium to be (I'm pretty fine with spices but I had to blow my nose a few times after the meal). If you don't like spice, stick to the mild. Portion sizes were good, I walked out full but not bloated, but I didn't have any leftovers either. Price was a bit higher than it should be for this meal, but that's becoming an epidemic all over the area lately, food prices are going up much faster than anything else and far out of proportion to a paycheck. $38 after tip for an appetizer, basic entree, and water felt high to me. But maybe I'm just old and remember when a nickel could buy a house and need to start readjusting my price expectations. J.Ja

How have I not eaten at JF before?! I feel like I have been missing out. I visited on a Saturday…read morefor lunch and sat at the bar. The whole place feels quaint and local, yet refined and classy. First off I love that it's a full service bar and eating at the bar is no problem. Second I absolutely love they sell pitchers of beer. Not many taps, but still pitchers. And it's mostly local beer. I was with my husband and we wanted to try several things and took recs from the bartender who was awesome. We ordered the pork dumplings, the scallion pancake and the spicy sichuan hot karaage rice bowl. And we made it a combo with miso soup and an egg roll for $4. The pork dumplings were SO good. I could eat a meal of those alone. They were dense and flavorful and the dipping sauce was slightly spicy. The scallion pancake was a surprise delight. It was crispy and not too greasy again with a delicious dipping sauce. The miso soup...chefs kiss. It looked like ordinary miso soup but there was something extra that we really loved!! And the egg roll was big and juicy and fried and wonderful. It's a veggie egg roll but don't let that fool you. So much flavor and again the sweet chili dipping sauce left us drooling. Most of those sauces are too sweet but this was the perfect blend and the perfect spice level. The rice bowl was full of flavor!! The spice on this is quite a lot so make sure you can handle heat if you order the "hot" version. But again lots of flavor not just hot. Thank god we didn't order anymore food because this was plenty for the two of us to leave full and honestly we could've had leftovers. We will 1000% be visiting again and fully understand the hype around this phenomenal restaurant!!

My friends and I enjoyed a tasty dinner here on a bustling Saturday night. For a group of 4, the…read morewaiter recommended 6-8 dishes which was just the right amount. We started with the Vaya Con Dios frozies, which was dangerously tasty and reminiscent of an Asian twist on a pina colada. We ordered the corn bread, which was a great mix between southern style corn bread with spring onion butter, gouda, and honey. The size was slightly larger than an Eggo waffle and was a good portion between 4 people. The karaage was also tasty, with huge chicken portions and a sauce that included lemon mayonnaise and a tasty soy-sauce mix. Not to be outdone, the pork dumplings were a delicious mix of potato, leek, brown butter, and yuzu, and the market veggies were a bit tangy with dill, mint, and more. The fried rice and bucatini were yummy carb additions as well. This place is on the slightly nicer side with a gorgeous interior ambiance, and as a bonus had plenty of vegetarian dishes as well. I would recommend this place to folks in Charleston looking for a unique fusion meal.
