Really nice local spot. Food is good. Could definitely be better. White rice is overcooked with no flavor really, orange chicken (I asked extra spicy and even paid extra for but definitely not spicy at all) sweet and sour, veggies are over cooked with no seasoning, egg roll tastes frozen and like it was cooked awhile ago. Been eating here for close to 20 years. Small family business. Sauces are made on the spot and not out of a bottle. Yes sometimes they close when you don't expect it or run out of food. That's because they're a family business and the food is that darn good. I've seen their kids grow up working there after school. They are the prototypical work hard and the American dream is yours for the taking. I brag about them all the time. Still the best fast food Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. Orange chicken is fantastic Combo fried rice is just as good. Not a bad item in the restaurant. I do believe they are closed on sundays and sometimes just like a great bbq restaurant if you order too late they may run out of things like rice or stuff. visited Mr Wanton on sizzling day around early noon. i didnt wait in line that long but people came by continuously like at least every 5minutes. I ordered Orange Chicken and a bag of Crab Cake with soda. I can say I will never ever eat out at Panda Express aftet I had at Mr Wanton. Unlike other chinese restaurant, the taste stays even after I brought my left overs to home. Crunchy fried dough with orange zest taste the same as i served right at Mr Wanton. If you grew up in South Arlington, aka the Agg, in the early 2000s. You would probably came here during lunch and enjoyed there $0.99 fried rice during your 30min school lunch. That's all I could afford then, now fortunately I can enjoy a bit more of there other items. Food is great, service impeccable. Take-out only! Great little neighborhood Chinese takeout. I love the General Tso's and Sesame Chicken. Crab Rangoon is just like I like it and the combination lo-mein is great too. Just call in your order and it'll be ready to pickup usually within 10-15 minutes. They usually only have 1 dedicated delivery boy, so it's best to pick it up yourself. The breaded items, like the General, Sesame and Orange chicken are a little more heavily breaded than I've come to like over the years, but the flavor is a 10 out of 10. This is a small family owned business where a man and wife are the only cooks and their high school children often take customer orders. I believe a lot of people are very harsh and do not realize this. Especially when they try and compare this to a chain establishment. However I do admit that they are often close at the most random times...(my guess due to it being family owned) Food is amazing, in my opinion the best quality and amount for the price compared to any of these small take outs places in this area. This is indeed a take-out restaurant. However, they do have a couple of tables and chairs if you wanted to eat there. I heard some good things about this place, so I decided to try it. I ordered a Hunan Chicken lunch special. Unfortunately, after getting home with it I discovered that there was no chicken in it. Everyone makes mistakes, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I tried again the following week. When I told them about the mistake from the previous visit, the owner was less than polite and reluctant to make good on it. I would have expected them to give me an identical lunch special free of charge in an attempt to keep me coming back for more, but all I got was a free egg roll and an argument about how it still cost them money to give me the vegetables and rice from the previous visit. Normally, this would be the last straw. We're talking about a 5 dollar lunch special here, and either keeping or losing a customer. However, I digressed because I wanted to try the food anyway since good Chinese food is hard to get around here. It turns out the egg roll wasn't good at all, and the Hunan Chicken was sub-par. The dish was 85% rice and vegetables, and only 15% chicken. And then some of the chicken was spit out because it was too tough. Sufficed to say, I won't be returning. It should additionally be noted that I sometimes shop at the supermarket next door and I've noticed on several occasions that Mr. Wonton was closed in the middle of the day or early evening with no sign indicating why or when they would be returning. On the whole it was edible, but all the food tasted more like the "Food Court Chinese food" you might find in a mall, rather than in a mom and pop restaurant.
