I've been coming to Pho Phi for a long time, and it's still one of my regular spots. The biggest reason is how incredibly fast the food comes out. Most of the time, my bowl of pho is on the table almost as soon as I finish ordering. The food is consistently delicious, and the portions are generous, so I've never left hungry. The only downside is that the prices seem to have gone up quite a bit recently. I understand that costs have increased everywhere, so it's not a deal breaker, but it's definitely noticeable. One thing I sincerely hope the restaurant improves is the restroom. I noticed other reviewers mentioning it too, and I have to agree that it could be kept much cleaner. There was also one experience that stuck with me. A server accidentally spilled hot broth on my pants. I told her it was okay because accidents happen, and I wasn't expecting free food or any kind of compensation. Still, I think it would have been nice if a manager had come over to apologize personally. A simple gesture like that can leave a lasting positive impression on customers. Overall, I still enjoy eating here and will keep coming back because the food is excellent and the service is usually fast. With a little more attention to cleanliness and customer service, this would easily be a five-star restaurant. read more

Poor quality pho, broth isn't very flavorful compared to other spots in the area, not enough meat or noodles in the bowl especially when being charged the same as other pho places. Drinks aren't that great either the boba is more of a smoothie instead of a tea which isn't my vibe. Spring for chilly in Louisville so I met my husband here for pho. Service is at the counter and we were checked out right away. I chose the brisket pho. I had hoped to add a poached egg and they didn't have this option. The pho broth has flavor but not as robust as other restaurants. This wouldn't be my first recommendation for someone wanting pho. I love this place! In my opinion they have the best pho in Louisville. They have a wide selection of meats to add to your pho. I love the brisket and some times get the brisket and eye round to have more meat. The fried spring rolls are delicious, I couldn't tell you what's in them but they are good. Last time I went I tried the taro tea, it makes for a yummy after lunch/dinner treat. The service is great and food always comes out quickly. This is a chain based out of Texas and it shows (compared to more authentic Vietnamese joints like nam nam). That said the portions are large, price is right and it does the job. The pho is tasty and they serve lots of toppings with it, the broth is just on the milder/simpler side. Their other dishes are also large and just above Chinese take out quality. I've been a regular at Pho Phi before and loved their eye round beef pho, but I've got to say that my recent experience trying to do a phone order for takeout was disappointing to say the least. The owner, at least from what they said on the phone, was hostile when asking if I could do an order for takeout. They said that it was a business and proceeded to hang up. Perplexed, I took a few minutes to call back and clarify that I was indeed calling Pho Phi and they answered back in an angry tone asking me if I was going to order to which I said yes, but I immediately decided not to after being spoken to in an unreasonable way. I ordered chicken fried rice with broccoli, and I got a scoop of plain white rice, some sliced chicken thigh (kind of fatty) in a brown soy like sauce, and some barely cooked broccoli, even though I requested it to be stir fried. This is my third visit dining in and my last. The quality and care for ingredients has gone down tremendously and the tables are filthy. About a year ago was my first visit. The soup was much tastier. The quality of ingredients was better. Today I got the chicken pho and I tried shrimp spring rolls. The chicken pho had tough chicken and old onions. The soup lacked flavor. They threw down a plastic ziplock bag with the classic pho add-ons, all "fresh" ingredients were lumped together. They were far from fresh. You could tell the bean sprouts, lime (more yellow than green), jalapeños, cilantro and basil had been precut prior due to the obvious condensation on the bag. Who knows how long ago those ingredients were cut so I'm not surprised the onions in the soup were sour. The spring rolls tasted old. I've had spring rolls many times at other Vietnamese restaurants and sushi places. Inside the roll, the lettuce was too wet and the shrimp was low quality. The peanut sauce did not taste fresh. The tables were awful. Very sticky. Wouldn't be surprised if I got sick from here. For a $18 lunch, the quality is abysmal. Not going back. read more

I had the day off so I stopped here for lunch. Ordered the Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl with a Vietnamese iced coffee. The coffee was great, i really enjoyed it. The pork was really fatty and came in these huge strips, so I am using this very flimsy plastic knife to cut it and it was a CHORE. I like pho but I don't always know how to tell what's good and what's not. Me and my older sister and friend all got pho. Large bowl! Filling and it had that nice sourness. Generous with the noodles. We asked for all the sauces to compliment the flavors. My twin sister had the vermicelli bowl. She was less than impressed. The orders didn't take long though. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you pretty shortly. We all got boba tea. I got a matcha without boba. Decent. My friend and older sis asked for boba but didn't get any... Not a lot of staff so they couldn't keep up with the bubble tea orders. FYI the milk powder they use is non dairy!! That's a plus for some of us who are a bit lactose sensitive!
