Stopped by Pho S for a weekday dinner, it was quiet with only one other diner. Sadly I lost the photo of it, but I ordered the pho with beef and brisket flank. The flavor was decent, except the broth was quite dark and heavy. Adding some lime helped balance it out, though it might be a bit intense for some tastes. Portions here were very generous. The regular pho is $15, the large is $16, and for an extra $3, the additional noodles are a great deal -- you get a ton with that too! One standout feature is the variety of condiment sauces provided at each table, including fish sauce, which isn't something you see at every pho restaurant. This place has replaced White Center pho. It's brand new and the interior is clean and big. We all got the combo pho. My cousin asked for a side of nuoc beo and pickled onions. The onions was a game changer. I will be asking for those every time I eat pho. Before adding anything to my bowl of pho I did the broth test. This place passed! A regular sized pho will fill you up. We took a road trip up north and hadn't eaten anything on the drive up so we were hungry. We didn't find many places we wanted to eat on this strip and we didn't wanna venture off too far since we came by for a car show. Stopped in for a quick bite. Very cute and clean restaurant. Staff was nice, but very quiet and didn't really check on us throughout our meal. We had salad rolls and the pork plate. The salad rolls were good, but very skimpy on all the ingredients inside. The rice plate was surprisingly very good. The pork was cooked perfectly and the meat was soft and tender. The marinade on the pork was hands down the best pork plate I've had at any of the Vietnamese restaurants I've gone to. My husband rarely eats pork and tried a bite and he also felt that the marinade on the pork was one of the best and most flavorful pork plates he's had. Place your order with a server at your table and then go to the counter when you are finished with your meal to pay. I have been coming to this location since I was a kid. Loved the original White center pho. Best broth in my opinion but it's been through a few different owners so I wanted to try this since everything was remodeled and looked so nice inside. The area definitely got upgraded. Interior is a lot brighter and more spacious than before. Service was decent. They came by rather quickly to grab our order. My bf got the brisket pho and I got steak with tripe. The broth was very aromatic and rather dark. It was a bit too sweet for my liking so I did use like two lime to cut some of it. For a reg bowl it was quite large. I barely made it half way when I started getting sick of how rich the broth was. Loved the assortment of spicy condiments on the side. It was a pretty good bowl of soup besides how sweet it was. Overall, the food was good. I had the Vietnamese Chicken Curry with Veggies. Quite tasty. I ordered a Bahn Mi to go. They didn't check to see if everything was ok. I couldn't eat everything, so I asked for to boxes. I boxed up everything. Afterwards, I was expecting them to bring the check. I looked around, and they were just talking. I had to leave my food on the table to go to the counter to pay. I'm not sure if that's normal. They didn't offer a bag to put the multiple to-go boxes in. When I got to the counter, I was given the price, and saw the tip was already included. Just be aware, They tip on the entire ticket, after tax. Came in on a chilly December day. I got the carrot and beef stew and my wife got the wonton pho. We split combo (chicken & pork) bahn mi. The bahn mi was delicious. I prefer more pate but my wife that it was perfect. The French bread was crisp and soft, damn near perfect. Meat was tasty and tender. Both our broths were amazing. My parents have always said, authentic pho is made with fish sauce. I don't know if there's fish sauce in here, but this is the first restaurant in years (!) since I've seen fish sauce as a condiment on the table. There were so many vegetarian options--that were good!!! I ordered the vegetable & tofu pho, and they asked me for an option between beef and veggie broth. I was skeptical at first because usually veggie broths aren't great, but this veggie broth was really good! Their fresh rolls were average, peanut sauce was thicker than I personally like it to be. Enter White Center Pho and their outstanding sammy. When you order tofu, chances are that it is either sauced up or deep fried. You never, I mean NEVER get it grilled. Guess who grills their tofu? White Center Pho. I tell you, there is nothing like that smoky char to give this often-flavorless curd a zip of bravado. My partner had the BBQ chicken and dubbed it most excellent. We also started with the fresh rolls, which were exactly that, and a good size for the price. Can't wait to head back down south for another one of these winners. read more

We've been ordering pho from here for a while now since it's tasty and reasonable portions. But we ordered bubble tea drinks for the first time today and were really shocked to find that there were many little metal shards in all of our drinks (photo attached). This really makes me question the quality, cleanliness, and upkeep. There's no doubt we consumed the metal shards before noticing. Really disappointed and this has to be some sort of health violation?! We called to let them know and they said it was due to an old blender... The broth was flavorful and so very delicious. However, I thought the noodles were slightly over cooked and could be bouncier - I've had slightly better noodles (only!) at pho thy thy or pho shizzle at UW. The broth definitely beats out a lot of their competitors, but I wish the noodles were just a little better. Portion wise, There were a lot of noodles, but not a lot of meat. I had the steak and tendon, and I think I counted like 3-4 small pieces of tendon overall. For a bowl of pho that's about $12, not sure if it's actually super worth it. This is also not a huge deal to me (but could be for others), but I'm not sure how often the utensils and sauces are cleaned/washed. The little sauce plates were all pretty sticky, and the area where you grab the chopsticks and spoons were dusty. I don't think the sriracha bottles or chilli sauces have been wiped down in a while either. Not taking a point off for it, but just an FYI if that matters to you. read more

My friend and I looked this restaurant up in a hurry as our usual spot was closed for renovation. The restaurant is in downtown White Center, so expect to park your car on the street and to walk to the place. When we were there, there were one waitress and one cook. The wait for ordering took more than 10 minutes, and we grew impatient. However, we continued to wait as we saw that there was a big group of 8 people before us, which took a lot of the waitress' time anyway. The food, surprisingly, showed up quite fast. My friend ordered vegan beef soup and spring rolls, and I got the grilled pork salad noodle. The food portions were good, and the taste is OK. I would come back only if I am in the area. read more
