Nice quiet lunch on a weekday. Pad Thai was solid, portions good but needed a bit more salt for my taste. Nothing a drizzle of fish sauce from the spice tray couldn't cure. Arrived around 1100 and there were probably 4 tables available. Ambiance was decent. Service was ok as there was really only one server. The other one dual hatted the kitchen and serving. You can order on your phone through the website or through your server. I had the ginger chicken and I asked if it was sweet as I didn't want something overly sweet. A pretty miserable dining experience. We walked in during a busy lunch service. It's understandable that things naturally take longer when a place is busy. It took a while for our orders to be placed (Swimming Angel and Avocado Curry) and water and tea delivered, but that's ok. After about 25 minutes, other diners around us had received food. Mysteriously, bowls of white rice were delivered to our table, and we became hopeful that this was a harbinger of yum to come; but alas, they sat to cool and dry as we waited. And waited. After 35 minutes, the place started to clear out, and still no food besides the now cold rice bowls. The tea was gone. No refill offered. At 45 minutes, the curry appeared by its lonesome. I encouraged my wife to eat, but having good country manners she insisted on waiting for my food to arrive. Five minutes later it did. And it was cold; congealed lukewarm peanut sauce atop tepid chicken slices, on cold stemmy spinach and raw red onion. Noting the "okay" food safety rating on the door, I decided to take no chances, and I sent the weird gloppy spinach salad back. My wife was good enough to share her avocado curry with me, and our "quick local bite" ended, over an hour and 20 minutes after it began. Please understand: I love Thai food. The dish I ordered, known as Swimming Rama or Swimming Angel is a simple Thai classic and a litmus test for any Thai kitchen; the sauce should be mildly sweet, oily and spicy, with big peanut/coconut flavor and bits of ground peanut, raw sugar, chili flake and garlic, tossed with chicken or tofu in a wok until slightly caramelized and piping hot, then poured onto fresh baby spinach. The syrupy hot sauce softens and steams the spinach, releasing the savory green juices as it is applied, making for a very pleasurable savory mouth feel that pairs well good steamed rice. It's very quick to make, but attention has to be paid, or it doesn't come together right and you end up with cold chicken & spinach salad with gloppy peanut dressing, a.k.a. Yuck. This is a dish that tells you if the cook cares about what they're making, and when served along side slower food, like a curry, whether or not they know how to expedite service to make it hit the table simultaneously. To their credit, they tried to make it right by offering to remake the dish (we were disinclined to wait, to understate the obvious) and they removed the dish from the bill. That's fair. But I came for a quick lunch, not for a negotiation or to spend two hours trying to order and eat a dish that takes 5 minutes to prepare. Not currently recommended, except maybe for take-out curry. Don't sit and dine here unless you have copious time on your hands and the patience of a saint. read more

Unbelievable! This place is by far my number one Thai restaurant in Greater Seattle. OK let's be real, my favorite Thai food place period. Not only have I eaten there ten times, but I have gotten take out even more times. I have yet to get a bad meal at this place! Mmmmmm. I'll keep it simple, I came in and ate today. Service was below standard and forgot I was here. Food was bland and chicken was cut so thin I'm not even sure how they managed that feat. Overall my meal sucked big time. Only good factor is dinner some place else is later tonight, so I have that going for me. So mixed reviews but since I'm writing it, it'll be a biased towards my food experience. First, atmosphere was nice...restaurant was almost empty. Good service, attentive...how are things, refills of water. Wasn't told there'd be a charge for rice, though...and was it in general or because I ordered brown? Only say that because when I ordered, the question of type of rice quickly followed as if it came with...but I should have read paper menu better? Oh, and music was a tad too loud. Anyway, onto the food...ordered spring rolls, chicken pad thai, and asparagus and mushrooms with beef. Friend enjoyed spring rolls (I'm not a fan because of the mint) with a tasty sauce and the pad thai. Portion seemed good sized. They said they would go back...maybe not out of their way, but if they were in the area. For me, the asparagus and mushrooms with beef was originally too salty. The asparagus was cooked just right. Good stir fry flavor to that and the mushrooms. Could've used more button mushrooms, though, to call it an asparagus AND mushrooms dish. Including enokis was a good choice, but still not enough mushrooms to match the asparagus. The beef was tough though and as mentioned, the sauce, too salty. The next day, leftovers were more palatable with sauce reserved for seasoning a whole separate dish or to be tossed out. The next day with leftovers sitting in the fridge overnight, the sauce was a tad sweeter to balance the saltiness. And the meat just got tougher. So for me, I wouldn't go back. read more

QUALITY OF SERVICE: 8 out of 10 - There were two waitresses who checked in on us during the meal. They were both friendly and cordial. We had minimum interaction with them and it did take a little long to get our bill after we had finished the meal. PRICE: 8 out of 10 - The prices of the food were slightly higher than other Thai restaurants that I've been to. With tip included, I spent just over $15 for lunch. Decent value for the quality and quantity of food I got. ENVIRONMENT: 8 out of 10 - The place isn't anything fancy. Just a standard restaurant with tables and booths. Stopped in for lunch on Saturday for some yummy Thai food. I wanted a repeat experience we had had last time both with dining in and with the food. It was so delicious. We were given print outs of a QR code and told we had to look at the menu on our phones. What? Why? When scanned, it opened some food delivery app where we had choices of Pho and other Vietnamese dishes. When the young girl returned, we asked if we could order Thai food instead, so she went and printed the register receipt with the QR code for the Thai menu. Really? We can't just have a real menu to look at? This is a sit down restaurant, right? We had real menus last time we stopped in. Took me a bit to find what I thought was the same dish I had last time because looking at the tiny pictures on the phone with a short few word description was trying. Got the dish, it looked and smelled wonderful, but it was drowning in some sweet & salty sauce that would have been ok if they hadn't drown the food in it. In my opinion, sauteed Thai food should be fresh without a lot of heavy sauces, but they pored it on like some Chinese places drown their food in goo. Overall, it wasn't a very pleasant experience, and I probably won't ever go back. Too bad for me and for them. read more

2 stars for being told I couldnt ask for a simple order fix! Food here is good but customer service really varies from horrible to adequate. DO NOT ORDER EGGS HERE! I eat here regularly, about 2-3 times a month for lunch.I normally order the crispy garlic chicken, but this runs out quickly. On one such occasion, I ordered a chicken with egg option, similar to Korean bi bim bap. I was given the option of over easy or over medium. I ordered over medium egg, thinking this would be a slightly firmer but still runny egg. At this restaurant, over medium means cooked all the way through, burnt, and flipped over. When I received my order and saw that the egg was overcooked, I asked that they fix just the egg so that it was slightly runny ( the definition of over medium) vut what they call over easy. When they fixed the order, a man brought it back to me and said that I shouldnt send food back to the kitchen because he doesnt have time to fix it. Attached is a picture of an "over easy egg". It was less burnt, but still not runny! When he put it in front of me and told me this was an over easy egg, i told him no, this is over hard (and burnt!). I said at any other restaurant, this would not be considered over easy or over medium. He said at THIS restaurant, this is over easy . I dont even have the words. All that to say, UGH. Good food, maybe. I will not order this and will order to go in the future. read more

Food was absolutely delicious. Top tier Thai food! The rest of this will be a story of how awesome Tony was. So I brought my dog in, as a lot of Asian restaurants don't seem to mind. After sitting down and getting menus, Tony came over and broke the news to me. He said he loves dogs, and wouldn't mind if we were the only customers, but he has to be mindful of others coming in, and their aversion to dogs. He then offered to pick up a table and put it outside in the beautiful weather-- we said yes, and then he brought a water dish for my dog. It was so perfect to eat such great food outside in the beautiful weather, and Tony was so nice and understanding. I admit, I put him in a tough position, but the compromise turned into something really special. Tony seems like a higher up manager, or maybe owner, so you can expect an awesome person like him to be there for awhile. Good wait staff, service and great food. Am an experienced global traveler who has eaten Thai in many countries and tons of it in Thailand. My four meals - dinner each night were very very good! Came up to Seattle to get some tools from WoodCrafts. Wife and I were hungry and this place is on the backside of the building. The restaurant is very clean and updated. The server was polite and sat us quickly. The menus are pretty worn down and the fact that they are paper, my menu was pretty stained. I ordered crab wontons, which they were out of. Got the spring rolls, Penang and Mussaman curries, and pineapple fried rice. All were fantastic. My only real criticism is the rap/hip hop music which was pretty loud. Overall a good place to stop off and grab lunch. read more
