The service here keeps going downhill but the sucky part is the food is good. Been coming here for years but when they treat you like shit forget about it. There are plenty of other pho places to eat at. Example one time waited over hour for pho what the heck and people that came after got their food in 15-20 mins no apology. Tried going back employee got the order wrong and tried to put the blame on the me the customer and went off yelling saying it's my fault and again no apology from the owner who happens to be there and does nothing but let the employees yell at the paying customers. read more

My husband and I were searching for the best pho restaurant in the neighborhood.. and we've found it! Pho Saigon Express has it all. Husband's favorite BUN BO HUE and BAHN MI and my fave PHO. Now we eat here at least once a week and our baby boy loves it too! So far we've tried: PHO DAC BIET $8 - so much meat.. which is not a bad thing at all.. but I do wish there were more noodles to go with all that meat sometimes haha. Their broth is really REALLY good.. and the veggies are always fresh and plentiful BUN BO HUE $10 - husband loves it. He says it's the best bun bo hue he's ever had.. and he does order it whenever he sees it on the menu since some Vietnamese places don't have it.. or if they do they don't have pork blood jellies in it which is the best part! The broth is really good compared to other ones he's tried that really only has the fish sauce taste. BAHN MI $5.50 - we've tried 2 kinds so far.. but I really like the flavor of the grilled pork one. The bread is crispy and soft and all the veggies that are in it are perfectly fresh, pickled, and/or seasoned. CHICKEN WINGS $10 - love the perfectly seasoned crunchiness of the batter which is not too thick.. with sauteed garlic and onions and the sauce that comes with it for you to dip is delish! The restaurant is a solid bet for everything Vietnamese. It lacked some a bit extra to propel it into five stars, such as freshness and flavor, but the pho was excellent and the rest of the food pretty good. The broth is some of the better broth around. I ordered the bun house special with eggrolls and bbq pork, chicken, and shrimp. It came with vermicelli noodles, veggies, and fish sauce. I stirred it all together and devoured it quickly. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. It's hard to find a five-star vietnamese restaurant, but if you want to just enjoy a good bowl of pho with friends, go here. read more

We've ordered pho from here twice and will order again. I like the option to customize your noodle choice. The flat wide rice noodles are delicious. But with the add on cost it's a bit expensive for pho. I prefer lime and they give you lemon. I also noticed that their broth isn't as rich, there's almost no fat in it and less salty. It's still tasty just different than what I'm used to. I don't know which style of broth I like better. read more

Let's get into the food...their pho broth is so delicious and fresh, not greasy at all. The beef stew is absolutely superb, so good with a baguette or noodles. And again, I love that their soups are not greasy. No joke, every dish they have is so good!!! Our go to starter is their bbq pork spring rolls and their calamari, you can not go here without at least trying their calamari!!! My daughter, who's 7 now has loved their calamari since she could eat solids! You literally can't go wrong with anything on their menu! Maybe I'm a little bias since we've come to know the owner by name, Pricilla! And crazy enough, she makes sure to know and remember each and every one of our names as well! She's so personal and friendly and welcoming to everyone that comes into her restaurant, as if she's welcoming all of us into her home. I lived in Escondido for over a decade and finally moved away. But every time I visit I have to visit my favorite Pho place. I am acquainted with the owner Priscilla and love catching up with her when I am here. My favorite appetizers are the egg rolls, Spring rolls, wontons, calamari and more! My favorite pho is the Pho Tai Nam (#18 I think?) or the Dac Biet (special). I also like vermicelli noodles with eggs rolls, shrimp, steaks and/chicken. Very clean and welcoming place. Easy to find. went here for pickup, the broth was obviously fake and just instant pho package in hot water you could see the bottom collecting with it. for pho the broth is the key ingredient so it ruined the whole dish. the rest of the things were fine just noodles and the vegetables were a bit browned. it's fine if you've never had decent pho before, so that explains the other reviews for this place. overall it's okay just not worth the price nor the time when there's way better for cheaper. read more

One of my favorite places to grab a bite! The pho is absolutely spot on. On this occasion, I decided to support local business during the quarantine and it hit the spot. I'm a die hard fan of their spring rolls. Everything is always so fresh and delicious. The fried egg rolls are also amazing wrapped up in super crisp romaine and dipped in the fish sauce. Chow mein was legit. The flavors are never a disappointment. The owner is super sweet, she always a joy to chat with when I go into the restaurant. The staff are helpful and nice. I have always had terrific service when coming here pre covid, during covid (outdoor dining) and for take out. They make you feel so welcome and like you're with friendly faces. They go above and beyond for their customers, pay attention to details, and send the warm fuzzies all the way to your home when you get take out. Priscilla even wrote a cute little note included, even recognizing the fact I ordered extra sides (this is important as most pho places do not give much when you ask for extra lime, etc. This places gives and that is recognized.
