I've been meaning to try out this place in the prime location of Diamond Jamboree. However, I found that the pho combination to be just ok. The broth was not very hot and a little too salty. The meat were hard to chew through. It's definitely not bad by any means, but with the other pho places I love in OC I would try other places first. read more

A pho restaurant in Diamond jamboree. There's a standard for establishments in that plaza with a Michelin star rated shop and a famous bakery next door. Pho Saigon Pearl is nothing special to which there's nothing wrong with that. I personally wouldn't come here unless we're close by and my cravings for pho outweighs my will to keep driving. To me, the pho broth is a mix of fresh bone broth and a bouillon packet. Cost savings I'm sure as they're rent must be expensive in diamond jamboree! This place was very disappointing. Came in at 7pm, the restaurant was more than half full. I ordered bun with grilled beef, not sure why I had shrimp, but I'd say the waiter took advantage of that situation. Instead of telling him which number on the menu, I told him what I wanted, never mentioned shrimp, but he added that. I'd say that was a desperate move. Anyhow, my order took 15 mins to arrive, and it was cold. The beef was terrible, shriveled like it was sitting for 30 mins unattended. The vegetables were also disappointing, barely any lettuce and a lot of bean sprouts. I'm not vietnamese but this dish is not at par. The staff service was minimal, they just take your order and drop it off, nothing more. I think they're lucky I gave them tip. Excellent place for pho in Irvine, though a bit pricey. Would definitely be cheaper in Westminster, but that requires extra driving for me. The charbroiled pork patty rolls are something I haven't seen before at other pho restaurants I've been to, and was full of flavor along with part of it having a crispy texture. Very nice. Almost a meal in itself. I also ordered the #10 (combination pho) and thoroughly enjoyed it. For being here at 2 PM on a weekday afternoon, I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes in total for my food after I had ordered it, though I thought it was pretty funny that the pork rolls came to me long after I had gotten my soup. Gotta get there vermacelli bowl with the fried spring roll and grilled pork, with the shrimp and meat spring roll with their good peanut sauce. Last time The meat was not too much, so I decided to get extra scoop of meat for the vermicelli bowl, and they brought me a whole plate of it, not only was it a lot but also taste. Next visit after this wanted something light so I got their shrimp spring roll again and their wings since I always liked wings. I came here with my family today and we wanted to give pho Saigon pearl a try. We all thought the pho was pretty good 7/10. Our issue is with the server/waiter, he had such a bad attitude, never smiled, and looked like he didn't want to be there. Honestly he made our experience an awful one. this review is for their to go. i ordered the soft noodle nest which is one of my favorite dishes of all time, especially childhood. to my utter dismay they already mixed it... most places separate the sauce from the noodles so you can choose how crispy or soft you want the noodles to be. the dish also needed salt, it was a little bland. since this restaurant is in the city i live in, i'll give it another chance and order something else... and eat there as opposed to a delivery. read more

I ordered a large pho and the bag of bean sprouts and herbs was clearly very old. The bean sprouts were brown, mushy and honestly inedible. Visually, it was very apparent that this bag of bean sprouts and herbs was not fresh and shouldn't have been served. I went into the restaurant here to order to go. The service here was quick and I was able to order right away, even though the place was sort of crowded. I got the combination pho with well done brisket, well done flank and fatty flank. I also got shrimp spring rolls and Thai iced tea with boba. I didn't have to wait too long for my food. The Thai tea was good, but the boba was a little too soft and broke down quickly. My Pho had a generous amount of meat in it. The meat was a little on the chewy side, but otherwise very tasty. The broth was refreshing and the noodles held up very well. My spring rolls tasted clean and light and the peanut sauce went very well with it, had a good amount of salt in it. How does this place only have 3.5 stars? I love this pho place, and I always seek it out when I'm at Diamond Jamboree. Granted, I've only ever tried one dish here but that dish keeps me coming back. That one dish is the beef brisket pho. So, what makes this pho so special? The broth, the broth, the broth !! It needs no additions. No need for Hoisin, no need for chili sauce. It is just a glorious flavorful broth on its own. Well, to clarify, I add everything that comes on the plate. The sprouts, the mint leaves, and 2 jalapeños specifically, but no extra sauce. The other thing that makes this pho special is their brisket cut. It's thin, so it cooks fast, and there's plenty of it. I'd like to try more items on the menu but how can I when this is so good?! I always get myself the chicken Pho, along with that I decided to get the Wok Seared Shaking Filet Mignon Cubes (what a long name). The food generally comes out pretty quick over here, they have outside seating during the pandemic along with limited inside right now. The pho always taste good, the chicken is cooked just right, and the rice noodles taste good. There are two different sizes you can pick from, small or large. I always share the large that way I can try another item as well. As for the beef dish, it was cooked so tender with mushrooms and onions sautéed. Having the scoop of rice just makes it even better. Came here for a weekday lunch and was seated right away. The servers were quick to bring us waters and menus. We ordered pho bowls and within 3 minutes they brought out huge bowls filled up high. The portions were HUGE, lots and lots of meat and noodles in the dish, super great value. Compared to the portion of noodles and meat, there was not a whole lot of broth. Especially because as you eat, the noodles begin to slowly swell and absorb the broth. And the broth flavor is decent, but not the best. I also wish they had given us little dishes for sriracha/hoisin sauce because I personally don't like putting sauce in my soup and would rather just dip the meat into the sauce. But that's my own personal preference. Oh also they gave lemon wedges instead of lime, which I thought was a little strange since they don't have the same flavor. I have never been to this longest surviving the iconic solo Vietnamese Restaurant in the Asian Hot Spot at the Diamond Jamboree. It's located just next to the now famous Korean BBQ Chicken-the first of many franchises. I had high expectations and anticipated great foods. The service was great and staffs were friendly. They are all men and very efficient in providing well used menu but the foods lacked in several areas. The Eggroll had thick skin which soaked lots of spent oil and greasy. The dough was thick and contents were meager. The chicken wings were smothered in salty sauce and difficult to eat. Then the rice vermicelli Bùn dish was so dry and cooked for a very short period with no care and left dry when it was served cold. I wouldn't feed it to my guests let alone paying guests. I was somewhat surprised. It's not that hard to put new noodles in the meat soup in a boiling temperature and bring it out in warm supple texture for exquisite taste and presentation.
