Don't come unless you're happy with wasting your time and money. Food was horrible, made us nauseous and we had to vomit afterwards. The Vietnam coffee tasted burnt. The food was really good with great flavors, generous portions and reasonable prices. We all agreed it will be our top Vietnamese restaurant to come back to when visiting Camarillo. The grilled chicken and pork must've been marinated for a long time as the flavors were in every bite of meat and grilling was spot on without being burned. I believe when people think of Ventura and Oxnard (California) they think of your a-typical seaside town, perhaps similar restaurants and bars but amidst all the "surfs up" there's Pho Saigon -- an incredibly authentic Vietnamese restaurant. This was my first time at "Pho Saigon" but I had that feeling even before finding a seat that this was going to be a great experience-- and so it was. Ok I only had the Pho but it was really well prepared with great ingredients and just so tasty and delicious. Honestly I could have stayed there all night if I had a bigger appetite-- some of their dishes coming out of their kitchen were just incredible, with colors and presentation would make a Chef Ramsey or Mark Weins want to eat here! The prices are also very reasonable with a well structured menu with pictures of most offerings. An additional benefit is that they also have free WiFi, so you can watch your favorite TV show while you're enjoying your Pho! I thought their seating is arrangement is well planned with family tables, booths and single tables. They even have a sit down wait area! Parking should be stress-free as it's situated on a strip mall across from the naval station. I haven't been here in years and I got a chance to try it recently under the new ownership. The food here has always 'catered to the area' and is decent, but they never could compete with viet places elsewhere. We ordered a few dishes to go to share including egg rolls, bun, fried rice, and some chow fun type noodle dish. The bun was similar to before, but the meat was very salty, overall good ratio of bun to veg to meat, and well cooked. It was definitely a sizeable portion. The fried rice was good, I enjoyed this dish. The chow fun style noodles with tofu was horrendous, I don't even know how they let this leave the restaurant. It definitely was not the same. The best I can describe the flavor is similar to its competitors at the Collection in the Annex. This place has fantastic food. I also found it crowded when I went; this wasn't surprising given the phenomenal food. I had a rice bowl with meatballs, chicken, pork, and egg rolls. Everything was tasty, and there was plenty of food. The server took my order and quickly brought out my food. My favorite toppings were the meatballs. They were well-seasoned. For a drink, I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee. It was definitely one of the top three iced drinks I've tasted recently. You can go up to pay for your food at the counter after you've finished or wait for the server to come by. I have absolutely no complaints and understand why this place is popular. I usually order to go as Pho has become my rainy day / gloomy day-stay-inside-and-cuddle-under-a-blanket comfort food. and especially because this restaurant just happens to be in my neck of the woods. I follow Pho Saigon on Instagram and I love watching Jimmy's stories and posts. He makes me laugh, which makes me want to go down there even more so. Everyone is super helpful and nice. Now for the food...everything looks so good and I always have the idea I will venture from my usual order and try other things but if it ain't broke why fix it? Pho Tôm is my go to and even though it's not on the menu, it's an easy order. Also get the egg rolls with the side of veggies to share with my family. And then if I'm really feeling hungry I wash it all down with a Thai Tea with Boba. I have dined in person a couple of times and I have always been fortunate to not have to wait very long but I know this place gets packed! I am such a huge fan of this restaurant! I came here for the first time back in 2015 when I was in town for the weekend and am now back 9 years later. The food is just as wonderful as I remember. The service here is so friendly and welcoming. My husband and I were treated so well while we were here for lunch the other day. The servers have suggested some amazing items and tips with certain sauces. I will always order the #3, the fresh spring rolls with shrimp and pork. As well as their #67 Thai Iced Tea. I love pho! After a long day of work and wondering around the Ventura/Oxnard area, my boyfriend and I settled on coming to Pho Saigon. I am super familiar with pho (I'm from the Bay!) but my boyfriend has never had it! This was a great spot for him to try it for the first time! This spot is super popular. We went around 6:20 pm on a Saturday and it was poppin! Luckily the restaurant itself is big and can accommodate for a lot of people. Since it was just us two, we were able to get seated quick! To start our meal, we got an order of fried shrimp (tom chien). For our mains, I got the pho tai (rare steak pho) and my boyfriend got the pho dac biet (house special with eye round steak, well cooked beef, soft tendon, and tripe). - The shrimp were great! Super plump and crispy. The shrimp itself was tender and not rubbery or overcooked. The batter they are fried in was so delicious! The sauce it came with was sweet and garlicky. I opted for dipping in sriracha for a little kick, yum! - The pho tai was pretty good! The broth was such flavorful and totally cleared my sinuses. My critiques would be that the steak was not rare when it came out, but already cooked! I get the soup is hot and it cooks fast, but a bit disappointing since I'm used to seeing that red meat when I order tai. Also, the meat itself was pretty thick which I wasn't used to but it was tasty! My second critique would be the noodle quality. They werent long, and what I mean is like they were cut up or torn. This was a bit disappointing but it did not affect the overall taste! Taste-wise, great! - For his first pho, my boyfriend liked it a lot! Pho Saigon is Family Owned & Operated since 2001 & has been at this location in Port Hueneme since 2007. It's main roads are Ventura Road & Pleasant Valley Road. They have parking in front & is shared with other businesses. There's also parking in the back. It's usually busy here. Even on rainy days. You come in, sign in on the clipboard & wait to be seated. We came on a busy Saturday night, but we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes. They are fast & friendly. Our orders came out in good timing & our soup, pip'n hot. Love their pho broth & egg noodle soup broth, it's so good & tasty. I don't usually add anything to my soup except for the side veggies, & of course some Sriracha. Last time we came here, we finished the entire bowl. It without a doubt hit the spot. Definitely try the Pho, Egg Noodle Soup, Rice Vermicelli & the Rice plates. Whenever my Fam from out of town visits, it's a must stop here. They always miss Pho Saigon, & can't seem to find Pho like they have here. It's also pretty casual here... Amazing food! But - if you want to order for pickup you may go weeks without being able to get through by phone and there is no way to order online. But I get it! It's a family operation and that's kind of part of the mystique. But sometimes the line is so long for pickup that your pho will be pretty cold when you get it. So be prepared to re-heat at home. If you want to go in person you will generally have to stand in a very crowded tiny entryway or outside in a very sketchy area of Oxnard for possibly 45 minutes to an hour. So about 95% of the the time when we would really love to eat here - we just can't. But when we do, the staff is super friendly and everything we have ever ordered is delicious! Favorites are #8 #19 #37 & #55. It's a real treat to eat here and we love it but the difficulty in ordering in person or for pickup makes it incredibly tricky! read more

Apparently this is one of the best vietnamese spots in the area. My family lives in camarillo and drive the extra miles here to get their vietnamese craving fix. My go to picks are always the rice vermicelli bowl, usually with grilled beef and eggroll if they have the option. Noodles were not mushy, beef was grilled nicely and eggroll tasted just fine.
