We alternate between the chicken and the pork because both are so good! We also love the pho here. The broth is so flavorful and the meats and noodles are all good quality. They've even added soy sauce to their condiment selection! We love the spicy sauce they serve at the table as well. It gives the pho the perfect added spice. They've added a selection of desserts to choose from now. We recently tried the creme brûlée and it was very good. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. They will check in at tables regularly. It's a clean restaurant with nice decor and seating. Give them a try. There's sure to be something on the large menu for everyone.

They even offered recommendations as there was so much to try! I had the pork chop special and it was so good! It had a curry sauce that was full of flavor. Saw this place while eating lunch nearby and the menu looked good so we decided to come back for dinner. While we would have preferred to sit outside, there was no availability. They sat us right next to the window though so it was basically like we were outside anyways so no complaints there. The bone marrow to start was a fantastic choice. I love bone marrow and this one did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and great flavor I was getting every little bit out. For my main I was conflicted but decided to go with the octopus. I ate every bite of food on my plate it was so good. Octopus can be tough and chewy but this one was cooked so perfectly that I wished there was more. The sauce had a slightly spice to it as well which was really good especially on the potatoes.

We ended up coming back the next day without hesitation for 2 days of tacos in a row and I'd return in a heartbeat if ever back in Hood River. These tacos are addictive! With their mix-and-match fusion menu, your taco of choice can really taste any way you like. The Hawaiian taco with grilled shrimp was my favorite, but I also enjoyed their Thai taco with chicken. I wish I could have tried all of them as everything featured good, fresh ingredients. Don't skip the drinks here either. I usually avoid cocktails but they offered to make their frozen margarita spicy for me and I couldn't resist -- fantastic! The service was over-the-top amazing. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter, seat yourself with a number, and wait for your food to be delivered. Service at such establishments is usually pretty perfunctory, but not at Love & Hominy. The servers are all super friendly and seem genuinely enthusiastic to be working in their restaurant. That in itself says a lot. As mentioned, this place is casual but still fun and eclectic. While eating your tacos in-house, check out the wall on the entrance side. It's pretty entertaining to look at.

The safe vegan option that killed me my husband were the Vietnamese. I got the Vietnamese taco and Vietnamese Bahn Mí bowl - I enjoyed all of it. Fun delicious, however, at $6/taco?! Not worth it. Severely overpriced.

Sad. This place makes me sad. I'm Vietnamese and I have been to many, many places to eat Viet…read morefood. I was excited to see that this small food cart was parked in front of the Hockinson Market. Whoa! Not a place I would expect to see Vietnamese food. The first indicator I usually see of a Vietnamese restaurant if the food is good or not is the menu itself. First, is it in English only? Or is it both Vietnamese and English? This cart only had English which should have been a sign. Listed on the menu was some kind of roll that SOUNDED like maybe it was Goi Cuon, which is a fresh roll, not fried. I asked the person at the cart if it was like Goi Cuon and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. Maybe the worker wasn't Vietnamese? She didn't seem to know what I was talking about. She showed me the crepe/roll they used and it looked more like pita or a tortilla (not the thin rice paper roll I'm used to). I passed on the mystery roll but ordered the regular crispy roll/cha gio. My husband ordered a rice dish with beef. I took one bite of the egg roll and it was bland and flavorless. I didn't even swallow, I just spit it out. One of the most disgusting things I've ever had. My husband wasn't even motivated to try the rice dish since we disliked the rolls so much. I'm all for giving a place a chance, but I just couldn't. WIll definitely note be back.
